Turkey: Anti-Torture Photo Exhibit Held in Downtown Ankara (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Dec. 10, 2004 was World Human Rights Day. I held a small Anti-Torture Photo Exhibit to clarify the truth about Falun Gong in downtown Ankara. The picture boards featured Falun Gong exercises, Falun Dafa information and stories of Falun Dafa. The last one had pictures of victims of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, a group picture of thirty-six western Falun Gong practitioners appealing on Tiananmen Square, information about Jiang being sued in more than ten countries and of support from all over the world.

People like Falun Dafa.

The music "Pudu" and "Jishi" were very moving. As soon I turned on the music and unfolded the banners, people immediately turned around to look at the banners and display boards. A kind-looking young man took a flyer, carefully read the introduction about "How to Start Cultivation," took a picture of me, asked me some questions and left me his name card. He hoped to get in touch with me again.

Another group of people came to read the display boards within ten minutes. I asked a young man, "Could you help me pass this flyer to the policemen across the street?" (Two policemen in uniform had been watching me quietly.) Before the young man took it, two policemen in plainclothes came over and said, "We are here." They took a quick look at the flyer, looked at each other in agreement, nodded at me and walked away. It was a heavily patrolled downtown area. Although I didn't have a permit, the righteousness and beauty of Falun Dafa had won me the tacit permission from the policemen.

People continued to come and read the display. Some asked about practice site locations. Some asked me many questions about Falun Gong. I answered them all. A middle-aged man carefully read all the information and came back to ask me many questions, "Why is it free? You spent time and energy on this. You are paying for it by yourself? You may risk your life. How do you live?" I told him, "My husband has a job. Our Teacher has never charged us a penny." He wondered, "He doesn't charge anything in the United States?" I said no. He listened to my story in surprise: My heart disease had been cured since I started practicing Falun Gong. It didn't cost anything. I was so grateful that I introduced Falun Gong to my friends and all the people I knew. It was a sincere good wish and had nothing to do with money. Not everything in the world is for money. Please believe Falun Dafa is one of them. I came here to tell people about Jiang's crimes against Falun Gong practitioners. He looked very sincere and excited. He nodded at me, "You look very calm and peaceful." I said, "Yes, cultivation in Falun Dafa gives me peace of mind, better health and the ability to concentrate."

When a reporter took pictures of me, two teenagers and two girls joined me in the pictures. They all liked Falun Dafa.

The music "Pudu" and "Jishi" were playing all the time. I didn't feel lonely at all even though I was doing this activity by myself. The sun was shining warmly. People were bathed in the compassionate Buddha light. I knew our great and compassionate Teacher was next to me. I unfolded a piece of cloth, meditated and sent forth righteous thoughts. More people came over. I honestly answered all questions of people and a reporter. A young man sat next to me for more than a half hour. He listened to the music quietly and read the flyer again and again.

On the same day, many Falun Gong practitioners in other cities also introduced Falun Dafa and distributed flyers on the street and told people about the persecution. More people are awakening...
