Falun Gong Practitioners Brutally Tortured by the Taoshan Branch of the Qitaihe City Police Department, Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net) In the middle of October 2004, after persecuting detained Falun Dafa practitioners, the Taoshan Branch of the Qitaihe City Police Department once again arrested eight more practitioners. In order to achieve their assigned quota for extorting money from practitioners, they even openly claimed that they were "bringing in money in exchange for the release of practitioners." In order to reduce practitioners' suffering or to secure an earlier release, some practitioners' families had to spend huge amounts of money and some families were forced to pay up to fifty or sixty thousand yuan, as well as donating construction materials to the police station.

Practitioner Ms. Qiu Yuming, sixty-three years old, was not allowed to sleep for four nights and three days right after she was arrested.

Practitioner Ms. Sun Bo is fifty-four years old. The police cuffed her hands behind her back and tortured her using various means. They said to Ms. Sun, "We have many ways to handle you and that includes torturing you, even causing a heart attack if it is necessary."

Practitioner Ms. Hou Shiju is fifty-four years old and she suffered the same inhumane torture as Ms. Sun Bo. When the police heard the moans of her suffering, they said, "The moans are wonderful to hear -- it sounds like singing."

Practitioner Ms. Liu Fuzhen is sixty-two years old. After suffering through numerous tortures, she was sent to a labor camp but was rejected and released on bail because she did not pass their physical examination.

After the above-mentioned four practitioners were tortured, each of their families had to pay 5,000 yuan in order for them to be released.

Practitioner Ms. Jia Xiuqin is fifty-nine years old. She was forced to take off her shoes and socks and stand on top of a pile of yellow beans for three hours.

Practitioner Ms. Yin Guiling is thirty-six years old. She had her hands cuffed behind her back and the police used steel pins to pierce her fingertips, palms and shoulders. Even after people found out about their brutality, the perpetrators still continued to torture her non-stop.

Practitioner Mr. Yu Mingsheng is over sixty years old. He was tortured with all kinds of methods and he passed out several times during the torture sessions.

Because Ms. Yin Guiling, Ms. Jia Xiuqin and Mr. Yu Mingsheng refused to pay fines, they were sentenced to one, two, and three years of forced labor reeducation, respectively. On November 11, 2004, they were sent to the Harbin Women's Labor Camp and to the Suihua Labor Camp.

Presently, the Taoshan Branch of the Qitaihe City Police Department is planning their next steps in their persecution of practitioners.
