By a Falun Gong practitioner in Jilin City

(Clearwisdom.net) Jilin City Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Shiwei passed away in November 2004 after long-term torture and persecution. She died less than two months after her release from a forced labor camp. Following is her story:

Ms. Liu Shiwei, 48, lived in company assigned housing at the Electrical Distribution Department, Jiangnan Fengman District in Jilin City. She used to suffer from many illnesses, but after she started practicing Falun Gong, all her illnesses were cured.

On July 2, 2003 at 4:00 P.M., Ms. Liu and her husband Yang Zhongkui were at home preparing dinner. Suddenly several police officers rushed in, searched their home, and took them to the Taishan Road Police Station in Fengman District, Jilin City. The police beat the couple and forced them to write so-called Guarantee Statements. They were sent to a detention center the next day for further persecution.

Ms. Liu Shiwei was later sentenced to one year of forced labor and was sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, where she suffered from various tortures. Once, her hands were tied tightly behind her back for a long time until they turned purple for lack of blood circulation.

Ms. Liu was released in September. In November 2004, less than two months later, she passed away.
