For Shouting "Falun Dafa is Good" in Court, Zhang Jinsheng's Sentence Extended by Five Years

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 25, 2004, Mr. Zhang Jinsheng, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by the National Security Bureau of Fushun City and detained at the Dashagou Detention Center in Qingyuan County. In late October 2004, he was illegally sentenced to 13 years in prison, and on November 5, he was sent to Shenyang Dabei Prison.

In early April 2004, there was a 30,000-yuan reward for the arrest of Mr. Zhang because he was accused of communicating with Falun Dafa practitioners outside of China. When he was arrested and taken to a detention center, the police viciously tortured him using a variety of methods to try to force him to disclose his association with practitioners from other countries. Mr. Zhang's skull was fractured while being tortured, but he still did not give in to the police's demands.

The detention center refused to release Mr. Zhang even though they had no grounds to arrest him. Instead, he was put on trial in late October and sentenced to eight years of imprisonment. While in court, Mr. Zhang shouted out, "Falun Dafa is good," and wrote down the same words where he was supposed to sign his name. The judge became angry and added another five years to his sentence.
