Falun Dafa practitioner Chen Sulan, who is over 60 years old, was kidnapped and taken to a brainwashing center. Her bones were fractured from physical beatings she received. Since this occurrence, she has been forced into homelessness to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Chen Wenfang jumped from a two-story building to avoid further persecution and fell on a three-wheel cart. She sustained several broken bones in her back and right arm, and injuries to her elbow. She lost consciousness due to the excruciating pain. Several policemen took Chen Wenfang to the hospital, in fear of being held responsible for the incident. When the doctors saw that the tendon of Ms. Chen's broken right arm had already shrunk, they were hesitant to treat her. A police officer then forcibly pulled the tendon out, which caused Chen to faint. Eventually, they hastily put a cast on Chen Wenfang's arm and the police immediately dragged her to the prison. However, both the city detention center and the prison were afraid to take in Chen Wenfang. The policemen then drove all the way to Feidong, a suburban city, and left Chen Wenfang at the detention center there. A month later, in fear of being held responsible, Feidong Detention Center sent Chen Wenfang back to Hupo Shanzhuang Police Station. Currently, Chen Wenfang is released on bail for medical treatment. Nevertheless, the police officers still harass and threaten her.

Ms. Huang Yuping, who is in her thirties, became handicapped as a result of persecution. Police officer Deng Weidong from the Wuhu Road Police Station and Lougang Town Police Station often harasses Ms. Huang at home. The police also harass her son at his school.

Ms. Xie Wenying, 55, is a Falun Gong practitioner and retired employee of the Homenkou Department Store in the West District of Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. For the past five years, she has been deprived of her basic rights guaranteed by the Chinese Constitution because of her firm belief in Falun Gong. She has been subjected to inhuman persecution, which has caused extensive damage to both her physical and mental health. She lists her sufferings and appeals for justice: 1. My residence has been illegally placed under surveillance. 2. I have been detained and my house has been forcibly ransacked. 3. I have been physically abused and forced to confess to false charges. 4. I request punishment for those who have committed crimes against me. I demand that I be compensated for all my sufferings with regard to my spirituality, my physical body, my reputation, and my financial situation.

Zibo City Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province has recently received an award from the government, praising it as a "National excellence model for forced labor camps." The group of so-called "people's police officers" inside the camp have been cruelly torturing and persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. The No. 7 cellblock of the 4th brigade is especially designated to persecute practitioners. From January 2000 to now, more than 300 practitioners have been detained in this cellblock. Practitioners are forced to attend brainwashing sessions, where they are deprived of sleep, food, and drink. They are also restricted from using the restroom. Police officers slap practitioners' faces and kick them in the lower abdomen. Practitioners who do not "transform" and still hold firmly to their belief in Falun Gong are locked in a tiny secret cell. There, police officers shock various parts of the practitioners' body with electric batons. Family members are not allowed to visit.

There is also a so-called "extensively monitored unit," where practitioners are under around the clock surveillance. Inmates monitor practitioners in everything they do. Drinking water and using the restroom are restricted, and each day practitioners are forced to read documents slandering Falun Dafa and its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi.

Falun Gong practitioners in the forced labor camp have endured many physical and mental tortures. Practitioners Zhang Guohua and Xiao Pifeng were tortured to death. Practitioners Xiao Lingfang, Zhang Rong, and Zhao Chengzhong were so horrendously tortured by electric shock that they suffered mental problems. More than ten practitioners, including Wang Xingjian, Shen Xiangjun, and others were tortured until they became seriously ill, and had to be released on bail for medical treatment. More than fifty practitioners, including Yang Zhongjian, Ren Jun, Di Mouchen, Zhuang Shijun, Wang Zhaohua, Yan Hongguan, Pang Kuanfeng, Wang Huanshen, Huang Futang, Wang Chunguang, Zhang Rong, Dong Zhenggang Si Shubo, Shi Zhaofeng, Meng Xianhua, and Li Jingkun have been put into the tiny secret cell, shocked with electric batons, and suffered other tortures.

Policemen framed practitioners Sun Liangsheng and Kang Yanxiang, and tried to send them to prison. The Intermediate Court in Hengshui City found that the charges against Sun and Kang were not strong enough to justify prison terms. Instead, both practitioners were detained in the Taocheng District Public Security Department in Hengshui City. Deputy sheriff Sun Jiancai incited police officers from the Taocheng District Public Security Department to illegally extend Sun and Kang's detention terms for more than 11 months. Even after their terms ended, they weren't released. But later, Sun and Kang were secretly transferred to the Hengshui City Detention Center. In the past few years, as a direct result of the persecution against Sun and Kang, the families of these two practitioners have suffered greatly. Sun Liangsheng's wife is living a difficult life with their child. Kang Yanxiang's wife, Liu Hongluan has been continuously harassed, and Kang's daughter was forced to quit school and is only able to continue her studies in a rural area.
