(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Sun Qian from Dehui City, Jilin Province was harshly sentenced to 12 years in prison on December 18, 2003. He is currently in the Jilin Province Second Prison and is being subjected to extreme torture. It is reported that while he was being tortured, his foot tendons were stretched until they ruptured. When this information was exposed, the prison staff' did their utmost to conceal the truth. They did not allow family members to see him, and they blocked the information.

Sun Qian was placed in the Second Prison in January 2004, so it has already been almost one year. Other than being granted visitation rights on one "special approval," family members have not been allowed to see him. The reason given is, "He hasn't been transformed yet." Sun Qian has been severely tortured both physically and mentally.

In July 2004, four males and one female conducted a "brainwashing session" for Sun Qian. For almost two weeks, they carried out around-the-clock transformation sessions on him. He was deprived of sleep, and was beaten and abused. Because Sun Qian persevered with' righteous thoughts, the transformation efforts failed. Around August 20, family members of Sun Qian came to the prison to visit him. Even though the prison rules state that family members have the right to visit their loved ones, the prison denied their right of visitation without giving a reason. Sun Qian went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and he was subsequently confined in a small cell where he was force-fed with corn paste and dense saltwater, causing him unbearable pain. The prison then placed him in a "Strictly Disciplined Brigade," where information was strictly blocked, and he was secretly persecuted. It has already been more than three months since his transfer.

In the Strictly Disciplined Brigade, practitioners are forced to sit on sharp objects. They have to sit completely still and upright around the clock. If they move even once, criminals are summoned to brutally beat them. Even more severe is the "stretch bed" torture method [where the victim's limbs are stretched to the limit in different directions], which was used against Sun Qian.

In order to conceal the truth, police did not allow family members to visit him. When his relatives asked education section leader Li Zhuang for the reason, Li said, "Sun Qian was fasting, so we are now watching him intensely." He did not mention that Sun Qian was fasting because the police did not allow his relatives to visit, and he was protesting the abuse and brutal transformation techniques used against him.' When Sun Qian's family members made formal requests, Li Zhuang intimidated them by threatening to detain them.

Sun Qian's eighty-some year old mother traveled from hundreds of miles away to have a chance to visit her son. Sun's six-year-old son wants to see his father just once but cannot. Sun Qian has already been in strict watch for three months, and his life is in danger, yet the prison still refuses to release him.
