People were moved by the courage demonstrated by the paintings, and they looked at every painting attentively, and some people were reluctant to leave. Among visitors were Western overseas students staying at the International Village. One of them carefully took photos of the paintings. Some visitors were Chinese visiting scholars. After appreciating the paintings, students who major in law hoped to hold another discussion on specific topics with practitioners.

From 10:00a.m. to 8:00p.m., practitioners tirelessly and patiently explained to a steady stream of visitors. Falun Dafa music permeated the exhibition hall, and the atmosphere was peaceful and solemn.

On December 18-19, practitioners held a series of activities at the university including a Falun Gong seminar, exercise demonstration and exercise teaching.

Reporters from Kompas (a newspaper that circulates across Indonesia) said in the report on the art exhibition "Savage tragedy hurts our hearts, and the tragedy in China is the darkest page in the human history. The black history documented on the realistic paintings is unfolding at the International Village Building at Surabaya University in Surabaya.... These paintings only reflect the tip of an iceberg of the tragedy happening in China... Though facing brutal torture, a cultivator appeared to have been endowed with outstanding courage....An oil painting named "Gold Lotus,"... Gold symbolizes eternity, and lotus symbolizes purity. This art work was created according to a true story: A mother and her child were tortured to death for courageously persisting in their belief in purity."

Local large newspapers including Jawa Post, Surabaya Post and Surya made detailed reports on the art exhibition.
