Practitioner Mr. Liu Yongqi from Jilin Province Dies Within Three Days of Being Sent to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Liu Yongqi from Baishan, Jilin Province died from the consequences of brutal torture on December 13, 2004 at the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. This happened on the third day after he was unlawfully taken there for custody. The labor camp authorities have blocked any information regarding Mr. Liu's death.

On December 10, 2004 after 1:00 p.m., practitioner Liu Yongqi from Baishan was sent to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp. He was taken into custody at Unit No. 5 (the so-called "Renaissance Unit"). Mr. Liu shouted loudly "Falun Dafa Is Great" as soon as he was taken into the yard of the labor camp. Everyone in the surrounding buildings heard him. He could be heard shouting "Falun Dafa is good" throughout the whole night.

By December 13, Mr. Liu had died from torture. He Jianxin, the head of Unit No. 5, was the official on duty during that night. After Liu died, his body was carried out on someone's back. On the morning of December 14, the entire Chaoyanggou Labor Camp learned about his death. At a little past 8:00 a.m. on December 14, Zhang Jianxin, division head of the Forced Labor Division of the Changchun City Justice Department, arrived at the labor camp to handle this incident.

The details of the tortures Mr. Liu Yongqi had to suffer before his death are not yet available, as the labor camp authorities have blocked any information regarding this incident.
