Remembering My Friend, Mr. Li Wensheng: A Letter to the People of Wensheng's Hometown

(Clearwisdom.net) It has been one year since Mr. Li Wensheng passed away. His voice and his image are still in my heart. As a friend of Wensheng, I wrote this letter to cherish his memory and to speak out on his behalf, to share his thoughts and feelings, with the folks of his hometown.

Mr. Li Wensheng was an elementary school teacher. Although he is now gone, I can still see him correcting his students' papers under his desk lamp, or patiently giving instructions to the mischievous students in the front of his desk, or carrying the elementary school children on his back one by one across the river in heavy rain.

He was an excellent teacher. In the parent-teacher meetings, the parents remarked, "Because our children are taught by the teacher who practices Falun Gong, we can surely set our minds at ease." After hearing the news of Mr. Li Wensheng's death, those who knew him cried, including his students, co-workers, friends and family.

Before practicing Falun Gong, Li Wensheng was stubborn and rude, but after he started practicing, the obstacles that blocked his heart came undone. Since then he has become more optimistic and confident. Wensheng understood that "Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance" are the principles that cultivators should follow at all times, and that only compassion could change anything. Under his influence, his students became more sensitive and considerate of others.

However, the Jiang regimes' persecution of Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners made Wensheng's happy and peaceful life disappear forever.

On the morning of July 24, 1999, Wensheng was arrested after his home was searched by the Lingbei police. At the Lingbei police station, Wensheng was fined and beaten by Li Fengshan, causing him to be physically injured and mentally distraught. Then on January 4, 2001, the Lingbei police again took him away from school. He was forced to suffer outside in the cold of winter and he was not allowed to eat for a whole day. Eventually a relative came and bailed him out. The fines imposed on him added up to over 5,000 yuan. Li Wensheng's life was often threatened and disrupted by the police and the township government; there was no peace for him at all.

In the middle of September 2001, Li Wensheng went to his hometown of Sihedang for business. Unfortunately, in order to get a promotion, the school principal Wang Delin led the township government officers to Sihedang to arrest him. Wensheng was then forced to leave his home. Afterwards, Wang Delin used over 10,000 yuan of Wensheng's unpaid salary to rent a car in order to search for and capture Li Wensheng. He also hired some retired teachers to watch and track his relatives. Wang Delin always said that he was helping Mr. Li, but repeatedly asked the police station and the 610 Office to arrest him many times and even suspended his relatives' salary.

We hope that all the people of Mr. Li Wensheng's hometown will come to know the truth about Falun Gong and to distinguish between good and evil. I also hope that Wang Delin and the police officers who persecuted Li Wensheng will wake up and take the right path.
