Two Falun Gong Practitioners from Yunnan and Hebei Provinces Persecuted to Death in 1999 and 2002

Falun Gong Practitioner Chen Jianzhong from Kunming City, Yunnan Province Dies in 1999

Mr. Chen Jianzhong was a retired worker of the Yunnan Province Optics Equipment Factory (referred to as "factory" hereafter). After he began to practice Falun Gong before 1999, he became very healthy. After Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the factory and 610 Office forced him to go through brainwashing many times. On November 4, 1999, the factory once again held a brainwashing class, during which the factory authorities intimidated Chen Jianzhong to give up his practice of Falun Gong. Frightened by the intimidation, Chen Jianzhong fell from the chair to the ground. He spit out foam from his mouth and half of his body was paralyzed. He was then sent to the factory-affiliated hospital for emergency rescue. However, despite the rescue efforts, he died the same night, at the age of 65.

Falun Gong Practitioner Liu Shiyun from Wanquan County, Hebei Province Died in 2002

Mr. Liu Shiyun was a worker at the Wanquan County Cement Factory in Hebei Province. He used to suffer from various kinds of illnesses, which brought much trouble to his life and work. He went everything to seek a cure, but to no avail. In 1994, he was very fortunate to learn Dafa. Soon afterwards, his illnesses all went away.

On April 25, 1999, Liu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. As a result, he was arrested and brutally persecuted by unlawful people in Wanquan County. Even after his release, Guoleizhuang Police Station police still went to his home to harass him. As a result, he could not study the Fa and do the exercises normally and he developed some illnesses. On December 31, 2002, he passed away.

Since Jiang's regime started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Guoleizhuang Town authorities have been relentlessly persecuting local practitioners. Led by town head Zhang Wanbao, police station director Feng Yaoming and vice director Ren Jincai, the local police have illegally arrested, detained and fined practitioners. They also ransacked practitioners' homes. All these actions caused tremendous harm to both practitioners and their family members. Feng Yaoming claimed when persecuting practitioners, "In my jurisdiction, I am the king! I can do whatever I want!"
