Not Forgetting the Fundamentals of Fa-Rectification Cultivation

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently Clearwisdom.net published a commentary indicating, "In the five years since July 20, 1999, when the comprehensive persecution was made public, Jiang has used the Party to persecute Falun Gong. Not only has Jiang committed unredeemable crimes, the Party itself cannot escape from the responsibility of the crimes, either." Clearwisdom.net also reprinted a part from the Epoch Times' Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party: "The Collusion of Jiang Zemin with the Chinese Communist Party to Persecute Falun Gong." Some practitioners feel uncertain about whether our current method of clarifying the truth to end the persecution should expose Jiang or the Communist Party. Some everyday people with good intentions also worry if these methods make it look like we are participating in politics, and could be used as an excuse against us. I would like to share with everyone some of my understandings.

I. Practitioners Should Always Follow the Principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance

During Master's benevolent salvation of all beings, we earnestly chose the path of Dafa cultivation. Before July 20, 1999, in the atheist Chinese society, there were people with ulterior motives who tried to create slander against Dafa. They used newspapers and television to attack us. Confronted with this complicated environment, assimilating to and practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" has enabled us to personally experience a healthier body and mind, along with moral improvement and spiritual awakening.

After the beginning of the persecution, when Dafa confronted tribulations and Master was unjustly treated, we chose the path of Fa-rectification. The evil took advantage of its longstanding tactics of brainwashing and intimidation to assault us, saying that we "besieged Zhongnanhai," were "involved in politics," and "were in collaboration with Taiwan independence and western anti-China forces." Confronted with an insane persecution by a powerful, brutal government system, we assimilate to and practice "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." In reality, the secular government, law, media, history, culture, medical science, and science is for us to use to rationally clarify the truth and benevolently save people.

Today, Fa-rectification has arrived at the last stage. Our fundamental principle is still "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Any change of external environment or factors cannot move us.

II. The Fundamental Part of Fa-rectification Cultivation Is Saving All Beings

Master said, "For a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, personal liberation is not the goal of cultivation: when you came, saving sentient beings was your great aspiration, and that is the responsibility and mission history has bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification."("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People")

In the past five years the evil has done all in its power to fill the people's minds with countless misunderstandings, and even hatred, for Dafa. If we cannot fully eliminate these factors, a life may be destroyed. Regardless of how ordinary human society has changed or what it has done, nothing can replace Dafa practitioners' responsibility of clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings.

The Communist Party's 50 years of systematic brainwashing has laid a foundation for the past five years of the persecution of Dafa and the destruction of the futures of sentient beings. If we cannot clarify the truth well, it will be even more difficult to save sentient beings.

Master said, "Cultivation is not about taking part in ordinary people's political struggles, and even less is it about fighting for power or gain. The notions, bad habits, and tendencies that you've formed in ordinary society and in political circles and the like are looked down on even among ordinary people, so even more so should they be disposed of in cultivation."("My Version of a 'Stick Wake-up'")

Master also said, "Dafa disciples aren't some ordinary-people politicians--you have lots of ordinary-people abilities, but you're not trying to gain anything of ordinary people. A Dafa disciple's cultivation is for the purpose of achieving Consummation in the course of validating the Fa. But as Dafa disciples, you are also saving all beings, you're allowing more lives to be saved and rescued during the Fa-rectification." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Washington DC Fa Conference")

When people said we were superstitious, we were not moved. There is nothing wrong with practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." When the evil slandered Dafa and Master, we still were not moved, as we know to regard the Fa as the teacher and assist Master in the Fa-rectification When the evil says we are getting involved in politics, we still should not be moved, for in reality we have no heart for politics, just a heart for the Fa, for "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," for clarifying the truth and for saving sentient beings. Meanwhile, we ourselves must do the very best in being "full of great aspirations while minding minor details," so that others can see the greatness of Dafa through our actions and our truth clarification.
