(Clearwisdom.net) On March 5, 2002, Falun Dafa practitioners in the city of Changchun, Jilin province, broadcasted TV programs that clarified the truth about Falun Gong over the Changchun cable TV network. Mr. Lei Min, from Jiangyuan County, Baishan City, Jilin Province, was one of the practitioners who participated in the broadcast. He was illegally sentenced to 17 years in prison and is currently locked up in Jilin Prison. He was tortured to the point of developing pulmonary tuberculosis.
The policemen in Jilin prison sent Lei Ming to the hospital for treatment. In late November, the police informed Lei Min's family to fill out some paperwork and take Lei Ming home for further medical treatment. Lei Min's parents are more than 60 years old and in poor health. After hearing the bad news about their son, they had to endure their own health problems (hypertension) and handle the procedures to bail Lei Ming out for further medical treatment. However, after they went through all the trouble and finally located Lei Min, the police told them that Lei Min's condition had improved and would not allow them to take Lei Ming home for treatment.
The purpose of the TV signal interception was the let the people know the facts about Falun Gong and restoring to them the right to know the truth. Lei Ming should never have been arrested in the first place, and now he and his family are going through protracted difficulties due to the illegal arrest.
