Ireland: Widespread Media Coverage as Irish Practitioners File a Criminal Complaint Against Huang Ju for Crimes of Torture

(Clearwisdom.net) During Vice Premier of China Huang Ju's visit to Ireland, Irish Falun Gong practitioners filed a criminal complaint against him for conspiring to commit torture. Over two days, news of the complaint was carried by all the major media organizations and the persecution of Falun Gong in China became a hot topic.

On the day of Huang Ju's arrival, the national radio station RTE interviewed a Falun Gong practitioner during the one o'clock news. As Huang Ju arrived, practitioners were appealing to the Irish Government to demand an end to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The main national TV station interviewed a practitioner and transmitted a report in the evening news.

On the second day of Huang Ju's visit, news of the criminal complaint was reported on the front page of the Irish Times in an article entitled, "Arrest of Chinese Vice-PM sought over Torture Claims". Again the main national TV station broadcast the story as did the BBC, which is a British TV station.

While the legal case was developing, the main group of Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appealed outside venues where Huang Ju met Irish officials. We also appealed to the presiding Irish officials, academics and VIPs to help end the persecution against Falun Gong.

When we arrived outside the Vice Premier's hotel, the police tried to persuade us to move further away. We used this chance to tell the police about the brutal campaign of genocide being conducted against Falun Gong practitioners in China and about the crimes that Huang Ju has committed. First a police Inspector came to talk to us, and then a Superintendent and finally the Deputy-Commissioner. The police were obviously being placed under great pressure. To each of these individuals we calmly told the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution from different angles. We compassionately tried to disperse any misunderstandings the police may have had about us. Initially the police were hostile but we kept righteous thoughts; after they talked to us and saw that Falun Gong practitioners were good people who are being persecuted, the police decided not to move us. They found out that what Jiang Zemin and his faction say about Falun Gong was not true. When Huang Ju's entourage came out of the hotel, they passed within three feet of us and had a great opportunity to read our banners and see our good behavior.

After we were at the hotel for a few hours, a bus brought a few dozen Chinese "students" to wave flags and welcome Huang Ju. The "students" tried to display banners with slogans that incited hatred against Falun Gong but after the police were notified, they were forced to take down these banners. When this happened and they were forced to remove the banners, there was a clear expression of shock on their faces. This may have been the first time they had been told that the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners was illegal and would not be tolerated in Ireland.

Following some investigative work, it was uncovered that many of the so-called "students" did not even come from Ireland and were picked up from the airport the same day. Vice-premier Huang-Ju had to import his own welcome party!

When we were outside Huang Ju's hotel and his entourage walked past, the Chinese supporters tried to move in front of the banners that read "Bring Jiang Zemin, Liu Jing, Luo Gan and Zhou Yongkang to Justice" "Please help us to end the persecution of Falun Gong" and "Falun Dafa Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" to block them from being read. The police stepped in and forced the Chinese students to move back. This allowed Huang Ju's entourage to fully read all the banners and gave them an opportunity to learn the truth about Falun Gong. It was encouraging for the practitioners to see the police step in to defend them.

The persecution against Falun Gong was mentioned throughout the media on the second day of Huang Ju's visit. Huang Ju is active in carrying out the Jiang faction's campaign of genocide. On July 23, 1999, the third day after Jiang Zemin initiated the persecution, The People's Daily reported that party secretaries in five provinces and municipalities, including Beijing and Shanghai, expressed support for Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong. Huang Ju was the Party Secretary in Shanghai. He claimed that the persecution, which consisted of unlawful arrests, torture and killing, was "just in time and completely correct". He also expressed that "all levels of party organizations in Shanghai are carrying out the work with a firm hand according to the arrangement of the central government in an orderly and effective way."

In the Eighth Shanghai Conference of Communist Party Representatives, Huang Ju claimed in his report that "the main task and aim of the next five years" was to "deeply conduct the struggle against Falun Gong". However, time has changed. The main culprit Jiang Zemin is the subject of legal action in many countries. Many of Jiang's followers have had lawsuits filed against them.

Vice-Premier Huang Ju narrowly escaped justice during his visit to Ireland. There are currently many legal cases against those criminals who took part in the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners proceeding around the world. The process of investigating those who took part in the persecution against Falun Gong in China is gathering momentum. It is only a matter of time before the good name of Falun Gong is cleared and the ones who committed crimes against humanity meet with justice.
