Liu Xuedong of Jiaozhou City is Responsible for Deaths of Two Persons in the Zhangjiatun Brainwashing Center

(Clearwisdom.net) Liu Xuedong, in his fifties, was from Quanzi Village of Jiaodong Township in Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province. Currently he is the Vice Chairman of Jiaozhou City Political and Judiciary Committee, and Director of the city "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems).

When Liu Xuedong went to the Zhangjiatun Brainwashing Center, he started a new method of torture where Falun Gong practitioners were tied to trees outdoors in the freezing weather. He also locked up and detained the practitioners in a room, where they were forced to eat their meals and use the toilet in the very same room. He instructed those in charge to not give practitioners enough food, saying that each practitioner were only to be given about 3.5 oz of bread, a little piece of pickled radish and half a cup of cold water for each meal. In order to force practitioners to renounce their belief, he directed his cohorts Yu Xiliang (Political and Judiciary Committee Office Secretary), Wang Qiang ("610 Office" Deputy Director), Xue Yibin, Jiang Pinyang and Lu Tao to brutally torture and abuse Falun Gong practitioners. Some practitioners were deprived of their sleep for more than 20 days, some were tied to trees outdoors and exposed to suffer the freezing cold in the winter, some were tied up outside to be bitten by swarms of summer mosquitoes, or were made to stand in the rain. Practitioners were beaten with sticks, some were tortured by having alcohol forced down their throats [Falun Gong practitioners do not drink or smoke], some had human feces forced into their mouths, some practitioners' teeth were pried out due to forced feeding, etc. After being released, at least two persons died from the serious injuries they suffered in the brainwashing center. Liu Xuedong is responsible for their deaths.

Though some practitioners couldn't handle the mental and physical torture anymore and under the pressure wrote the "Guarantee Statement."* Later, they wrote "Solemn Declarations."** They all kept practicing the exercises, and telling people the facts about Falun Dafa, and that Falun Dafa is great. "Coercion cannot change people's hearts," the pressure from Liu Xuedong can never change Dafa practitioners' determination of cultivation.

*"Guarantee Statement," A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

**"Solemn Declarations," Statements written by Falun Dafa practitioners who went through brainwashing to declare that the so-called "Guarantee Statement" they wrote to renounce their faith in Falun Dafa under brainwashing and torture be declared invalid.
