By Falun Gong practitioners in Connecticut
(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of February 8, 2004, the
Connecticut Chinese New Year Song and Dance Performance was held in New Haven.
Over 800 people attended and most of them were Chinese. Falun Gong practitioner
artists from Connecticut and New York were invited to perform and demonstrate. In a Chinese traditional arts exhibition, traditional paintings of Ms. Zhang
Cuiying and Ms. Chen Xiaoping were shown. Practitioner artists made ikebana,
sketched portraits and demonstrated calligraphy for the audience. Practitioners
from Yale Falun Gong Club taught kids origami. Many Chinese in the audience
praised the practitioners. Accompanied by dancers from the Yale Falun Gong Club, Ms. Jiang Min sang a
song Move between Heaven and Earth. Then she had a solo Be Saved.
The audience warmly applauded her performance. Many later said that this act was
the best in the whole performance. Practitioners rented a booth and distributed truth-clarification literature
and VCDs. The practitioners specially prepared flyers for this activity. On the
flyer, Ms. Zhang Cuiying and her painting were introduced under the topic
"Plum Blossom out of Cold Weather", and the practice and art
experience of Ms. Jiang Min, a female singer was introduced under the topic
"Imparting Spirit to Song", offering a different angle for audience to
understand Falun Gong. |
