Edmonton, Canada: Practitioners Appeal to Bring Jiang, Luo and their Accomplices to Justice (Photos)

February 18, 2004 |

(Clearwisdom.net) From 2 to 4pm on Feb. 14, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners in Edmonton, Canada gathered in Chinatown and held an outdoor press conference in spite of the snowstorm and temperatures dropping to more than 10 degrees below zero Celsius. They unfurled a banner that read, "Bring Jiang to Justice," and displayed posters imprinted with words, "Bring Jiang to Justice", "Bring Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to Justice", as well as posters about the truth of the self-immolation incident. Practitioners expressed their support for fellow practitioners in China and called for an end to the persecution. After the press conference, practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and clarified the facts to people passing by.

Falun Gong practitioners expressed: The reason we are having this press conference here is to express our support for our fellow practitioners in China, and strongly demand that Chinese authorities stop this persecution. At the same time, we hope all overseas Chinese communities will more comprehensively learn the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. In this drama of persecution, Luo Gan (member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, Secretary of the Commission of Politics and Law of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Central Committee), Liu Jing (Deputy Minister of Public Security, Vice Director of the 610 Office of the CCP Central Committee) and Zhou Yongkang (Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China) are the chief culprits who directly follow Jiang Zemin to suppress Falun Gong. The banners that practitioners unfurled today express their quest to bring to justice Jiang Zemin, the chief perpetrator who instigated this persecution and his accomplices Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang.

Falun Gong practitioners also pointed out that through this message, they wanted to advise Jiang's other followers, including those Consulate officials who spread hate propaganda against Falun Gong, to immediately stop committing crimes. Those who commit the wrongdoings must be punished by law, conscience and morality. The recent libel case won by Toronto Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Joel Chipkar against the Deputy Chinese Consul-general is one example of this. Another good example is that 45 officials who participated in persecuting Falun Gong, including Jiang Zemin, Li Lanqing, Luo Gan, Wang Maolin and Liu Jing were put on a list that is monitored by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

A gentleman who just came from China two months ago read the posters carefully and listened to practitioners tell him about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and its great popularity overseas. He said, the information on the poster was forbidden in China. But he had heard about the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin before. When he left, he took some truth-clarifying materials including a VCD.

A woman asked practitioners, "What was he (Jiang) sued for?" When she heard the practitioner telling her, "Genocide," the woman answered, "Wow! Good!"

A reporter from the Edmonton Sun Newspaper attended the press conference to cover the event.
