(Clearwisdom.net) On February 15, 2004, the anniversary of Teacher's U.S. West Fa teaching, Falun Dafa practitioners from San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles as well as many officials and local residents gathered at the conference room of the Public Library at the City of Carlsbad. They celebrated the "North District of San Diego County Falun Dafa Week" to commemorate this special day.

Practitioners and local officials celebrate "Falun Dafa Week".	Mayor of Encinitas Ms. Maggie Houlihan gave speech proclaiming Falun Dafa Week.	The announcement of proclamations from U.S. Congressperson and levels of government officials.

The Mayor of Encinitas, Ms. Maggie Houlihan, said in her speech that she began to know Falun Gong from the Christmas parade in Encinitas last year. In that parade, Falun Gong won the third place. She said if everyone could follow the principle of "Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance", the world and our community would become better. She also announced the proclamation which she personally signed. Her speech won warm applause from the audience. A representative of Falun Gong practitioners gave her a gift consisting of a Falun Gong book and a videotape containing a demonstration of the Falun Gong exercises. Mayor Houlihan said she would go to the practice site to learn exercises when she had time. During the talks with Falun Dafa practitioners, she also asked about the details of the persecution in China and its causes.

Chinese and western practitioners demonstrate Falun Gong exercises.	Many people attended the meeting and learned the exercises.	Practitioners performed dances for the audience.

After Mayor Houlihan proclaimed Falun Dafa, the meeting announced a joint proclamation from U.S. Congressman Randy Cunningham, State Senator Bill Morrow, State legislator Mark Wyland, proclamation certificate from California Senator Bill Morrow, and proclamation from Mayor of Carlsbad Mr. Claude A. Lewis. Practitioners expressed their thanks for their support.

Next, practitioners performed a demonstration of the Falun Gong exercises, Zheng Solo, Martial Arts and dance. Their wonderful performances won warm applause.

Last, the local residents learned the five sets of exercises and wanted to join the public practice. The practitioners were glad to see so many people eager to learn Falun Gong.
