Using Righteous Thoughts and Belief to Overcome Interference

(Clearwisdom.net) The Fa-rectification is approaching the most surface layer and those evil creatures who persecute Falun Dafa have felt that the day of retribution is near. Therefore they persecute practitioners even more relentlessly. However, as long as practitioners maintain righteous thoughts, judge things on the basis of the Fa and act righteously, all the evil will be eliminated very quickly. Sometimes our own notions and attachments prevent us from completely eliminating the evil. A recent experience of mine brought this to light, and showed me how important it is to find and eliminate our attachments in a timely manner.

One night in the middle of December 2003, I took ten truth-clarifying banners and went out to hang them up with the help of a fellow practitioner and my 4-year-old granddaughter. After walking for a while, my granddaughter wanted me to carry her. After we finished hanging the banners and returned home, my granddaughter could not stand on her own two feet and she cried because her feet hurt. When I looked at her legs and feet, they were covered with purple-red bumps. On the sole of one of her feet, there were four purple-red "finger prints" and the skin on her calves had a lot bumps. Some of them were as big as a goose egg and the smallest was the size of a thumb, all lined-up one after another. It looked very alarming. When I touched them gently, she would scream from the pain and her skin itched badly. I had never seen anything like this. I quickly applied hot water to them, but the effectiveness was very limited. Half an hour later, she cried very loudly and said her lower back was itchy and sore.

My daughter (also a Falun Dafa practitioner) and I realised that this was the evil's persecution and we sent forth righteous thoughts a couple of times, to eliminate them. However, we could not calm down completely, and therefore there was no improvement. On the second day, we took the child to the hospital for an X-ray and blood tests, but her results were normal. The doctor could not find what was wrong with her, but still prescribed some medication for her. He also suggested that we observe her for a day and then send her to a hospital if she did not improve. After we returned home, we had her take the medicine twice, but there was no improvement.

Suddenly I realized that what we had just done was not right. Nothing that happens to a practitioner is a coincidence. We had used ordinary people's notions and methods to solve a non-ordinary phenomenon. We could not calm down to send forth righteous thoughts. It was an attachment to the human emotion of worry, and the evil forces had taken advantage of our attachment. The evil forces persecuted the child when we were doing truth clarification and their objective was to distract our effort in clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings. Teacher said, "Humankind must fundamentally change its conventional thinking. Otherwise, the truth of universe will forever remain a mystery to humankind; everyday people will forever crawl within the boundary delimited by their own ignorance" ("Lunyu," preface to Zhuan Falun). Every day we read Lunyu , but never realised the deeper meaning within it. My own notions blocked my righteous thoughts.

The next day, I had very strong righteous thoughts and imagined myself as a mighty god in the universe eliminating all the dirty evil creatures! At 7 a.m. sharp, I concentrated and sent forth righteous thoughts for 15 minutes, and then my granddaughter became peaceful. I touched her legs and found that the spots had disappeared, and her legs were not hurting any more. The itchy spots still existed, but she could come down from her bed to play. I was very excited with what had happened. At 10 a.m., I thought that the other dimension's evil creatures had been removed, and the rest of the evil could be gotten rid of by using the medicine; therefore I forced her to take another dose of medicine. At about noontime, my granddaughter's legs started to hurt again and it was worse than two days before. The spots spread above her knees and there were goose egg sized purple spots on both sides of her knees and her whole legs were covered with spots. My granddaughter could not move her legs, her skin could not be touched and she kept crying. I immediately looked inside myself: I used medicine to remove the spots. This was equivalent to not having full confidence in Dafa. At that moment, I began crying and felt our Teacher's great compassionate heart for me and understood that he kept giving me plenty of opportunities to improve. Even though this situation was caused by an evil act, it had exposed the attachment that was buried deep down inside of me. I needed to get rid of those impure thoughts, and quickly improve myself.

I helped my granddaughter to diligently study the Fa. At 7 p.m., my daughter and I asked for Teacher's help, concentrated our forces and sat down in the lotus position with my granddaughter to send forth righteous thoughts. Fifteen minutes later, my daughter asked me to continue to send forth righteous thoughts. Another 7 to 8 minutes passed, and then we stopped and unfolded our legs. We saw that my granddaughter was playing with a toy on her bed. She said that her legs and body no longer hurt and the spots on her legs had almost disappeared. There were only a few purple-red spots remaining on her leg. It was exactly like the example that Teacher used in one of his lectures. In Zhuan Falun, Teacher said:

"... After you remove that thing you'll find that there's nothing in the body over here. You'll see that the slipped disc or bone spur is immediately healed after you remove that thing and wipe out that field."

This time I did not get overexcited and had more solid confidence in Dafa. My heart felt so elevated and pure that words could not describe it. We continued sending forth righteous thoughts and studying the Fa. Two days later, all the spots disappeared from my granddaughter's legs.
