In the afternoon of October 22, 2001, while Dafa practitioner Chen Fengzheng was working in the field near his house, deputy political and security section chief Gu Bingyi from Yichun City Police Department, policemen Qi You, Luo Yutian, and Wang came to his house to ask a few questions. Before Mr. Chen had a chance to answer their questions, the police arrested and took him to the police department. As soon as they arrived there, policeman Qi You started to beat Mr. Chen while grabbing his hair. He asked Mr. Chen if he still want to practice Falun Gong. "Yes" was the answer! Upon hearing that, policeman Gu Bingyi and others forced Chen to stay in a half standing, half sitting posture as punishment. Policeman Qi You asked, "Does your wife practice Falun Gong?" "Yes" Chen said.

After the physical abuse, policeman Qi You ransacked Chen's home. He also tried to force Chen's wife to write the "promise letter" [to give up Falun Gong practice]. The wife demanded to see the search warrant, but the police failed to show it, which did not stop them from arresting her and taking her to the police department. During this entire time, Mr. Chen was being physically and verbally abused. At one time, a police department head in charge of the Political and Security Section stopped by and told officer Qi You and others, "You must find a way to get him to confess." After the chief left, the other officers intensified their torture. Policeman Luo Yutian sat on Chen's back while Qi You stepped on Chen's legs. Frustrated, Qi You said, "Falun Gong (practitioners) do not smoke, right?" and then lit a cigarette and forced it into Chen's mouth. He covered Chen's nose to force him to inhale. Chen passed out and later didn't know what happened. That day they took Mr. Chen and his wife to the police department for detention; their nine-year old child was left at home alone.

On April 7, 2002 policeman Zhang Xinguo and four others from the Political and Security Section came to Dafa practitioner Bao Yongsheng's home and tried to force him to lead them to fellow practitioner Zhang Yuansen's home. After Bao refused, the policemen were furious. Without following any legal procedures, these four policemen threw Mr. Bao into a police vehicle and drove him to the police department. Deputy section chief Qi You, policemen Li, Huang, and Luo used violence to interrogate Mr. Bao. They savagely hit Bao with a 5 x 5 cm. (2 inches x 2 inches) square piece of lumber. Qi You himself hit Bao's liver area and the right side of his head. The beating was so severe that Bao passed out. After he regained consciousness, they resumed the beating. They also beat Bao's legs, injuring and disabling his right leg. He is unable to walk to this day. That same night, they taped Mr. Bao and Zhang Yuansen's mouths shut and sent them to a detention center. There, policemen Qi You and Kang Kai repeatedly tortured them.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Deng Fengxiang complained to the Political and Security Committee about the torture committed against Bao Yongsheng. The police also brought her in for interrogation. Policemen Kang Kai, Qi You, and several others participated in persecuting Ms. Deng. The torture they subjected Ms. Deng to hurt her so badly that she could not sleep on her back for a week. Fearing her condition becoming known to the public, the police transferred her to a new detention center.

Because Dafa practitioner Geng Chuanjun was determined in his belief, Jinshantun City police officers severely persecuted him, which resulted in the break-up of his family. Now his 62-year-old mother, his handicapped 41-year-old brother, and his 14-year-old son live at home without anyone to care for them.

In April 2001, policeman Wang Shoumin, yielding a wooden club, sent five practitioners to a detention center. Once there, he beat the practitioners badly. Geng's body was covered with wounds. The police also stole 2,500 Yuan in cash from Geng Chuanjun. To this day, the money has not been returned.

On October 29, 2001, Fenggou police station chief Wang Wei (female) and the deputy chief climbed over a wall to break into Geng's home. They threatened, "If you continue to act against us, we will send some gangsters to destroy your house." Before they left, policeman Wang Shoumin again beat Geng Chuanjun.

On May 9, 2002, police chief Min Changchun and four other officers took Geng Chuanjun to the police station for a torture interrogation session. They wanted to force him to tell them information about other Falun Gong practitioners. When Geng refused to answer their questions, the police beat his hands with iron rings. They also handcuffed and tied him to a metal chair. They even put a plastic bag over his head and almost suffocated him. After the long-lasting torture, the police sent him to a detention center. With fabricated evidence, Jinshantun police forced a prison term on him and sent him to the notorious Jiamusi Prison. Geng's wife was also sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp.

At 10:00 a.m. on April 10, 2002, police arrested Mr. Feng Guoqing from Jinshantun at his home. Once at the police station, his captors brutally tortured him until 8:00 p.m. While policemen Qi You, Kang Kai, Luo Youcai, and He Jindong took turns attacking him, Mr. Feng lost consciousness several times. His back was red and swollen. He had a high fever and went into a coma. After he woke up he could not even turn over in bed. On the third day, the police took him out again and tortured him by pinching and rubbing his wounds. His legs hurt so much that he could not bend them. Policeman Luo force his legs to bend which caused him further injury and pain.

Later they subjecte him to something they called "big frame torture." They tied his arms and legs apart on a large frame and put him on floor. Policeman Dong Dezhi supervised the whole procedure. On the tenth day, policemen Zhao and He Feng from the criminal police team came to torture Feng Guoqing. Mr. Feng Guoqing had by then been on hunger strike for over ten days. After suffocating Feng Guoqing by wrapping his head in a thick quilt, they made him gain consciousness by dousing him with cold water. On May 10, 2002, Policemen Kang Kai, Qi You, and Luo Youcai took practitioner Feng Guoqing out once again for torture. They tied him up and tortured him all night long. Qi You said, "Beat him up! No problem. Just don't kill him yet." Later, Jinshantun authorities sentenced him to a prison term. He is now detained in the Jiamusi Prison.

Dafa practitioner Wang Jibin from Jinshantun has been persecuted by authorities in the Jinshantun legal system for a long time. Wang's wife is also a practitioner. She is being illegally detained in Harbin Prison. Mr. Wang was sentenced to the Jiamusi Prison. His 70-year-old mother and a school-age child were left at home alone.

In 2000, the Jinshantun Police Department sent Wang and his wife to a forced labor camp. They both suffered various tortures at the hands of police.

In April 2002, Fenggou Police Chief Zhou Changchun, policeman Wang Shoumin, and two others entered Wang Jibin's home without a search warrant and ransacked his home. They found Dafa flyers. In fact, these were police "plants," which the officers had put there earlier the same morning, to frame him. As such, Wang was taken to a detention center. Policeman Ye Yan from the Preliminary Interrogation Section attempted to force him to reveal other Dafa practitioners' information. After he refused, Ye Yan grabbed Wang's hair and knocked his head against the wall. Ye Yan also kicked Wang in his chest and stbbed his eyes with his fingers. More than ten police officers beat up Wang for five to six hours, non-stop. His body was covered with wounds. Later, Wang was put on "the big frame torture" for two days. Ye Yan also ordered inmates to beat Wang.

In May 2002, the police transferred Mr. Wang to the criminal police team of Jinshantun Police Department for further abuse. Five policemen beat him at the same time. They tied up his arms and forced his body into painful positions. He almost died. Later, the police fabricated some evidence and then sentenced him. He is now detained in the Jiamusi Prison.

On April 8, 2002, Jinshantun Dafa practitioner Zhang Yuansen was at work. Two policemen, Qi You and Er Luozi, arrested him without a word and took him to the police station where Zhang Xingguo and four other policemen beat him up. They repeatedly knocked him down to the floor. The police forced him to tell them other practitioners' information. They also forced him to remain squatting, with both arms raised horizontally. Policeman Jiang Hai used a one-meter long, wood 2x2 piece of lumber to beat his arms, shoulders, thighs and other places repeatedly. They hit him so hard that the 2x2 wood broke into three pieces. Even then, the police did not stop. They found a longer and thicker piece of wood, and then continued beating him for two more hours.

Later, two groups of police officers took turns torturing Mr. Zhang even further. Jiang Hai and a short man kicked him down to the floor, stepped on his handcuffs and made him bend forward. Jiang Hai also used a rod to violently beat his back. When they got tired, they pulled him over with both hands extended over his head. Jiang Hai stepped on the handcuffs while the short man sat on him and slapped his face with a shoe. They tortured him late into the night before sending him back to the detention center. His back, buttocks and thighs were severely bruised, and his mouth was injured.

After this inhuman torture, Jingshantun Police officials unlawfully sentenced Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Yuansen to a prison term. He is now in Jiamusi Prison.
