Ms. Jiang Wei, a Falun Dafa practitioner and former owner of the Landun Hotel in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. As a result she was unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor on October 29, 1999, and sent to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City. During her almost three years of detention at the labor camp, Ms. Jiang was savagely tortured and was forced to do slave labor for 16 to 17 hours every day. She held a hunger strike to protest the inhuman persecution. She was tortured until she was physically devastated and she could no longer take care of herself. Her memory was foggy and she was on the brink of death. Ms. Jiang was sent to the Gushanzi Mental Hospital in Shenyang City where she was injected with nerve-damaging drugs and shocked with an electric baton. She was held in the mental hospital for 29 days. The labor camp officials thought she was going to die, so the perpetrators extorted 9,000 Yuan from her family before they released her [500 Yuan is the average monthly salary of an urban worker in China]. Her husband was compelled to divorce her under high pressure, and a family was thus ripped apart.

Ms. Ye Hongfang, a Dafa practitioner from Heyuan City, Guangdong Province was sent to the Huizhou Mental Hospital in Guangdong Province where she was cruelly tortured. She firmly persisted in practicing Falun Dafa and resisted the persecution. The perpetrators unconstitutionally sentenced her to one year of forced labor in 2001, to serve her sentence at the Sanshui Female Labor Camp. In 2002, Ms.Ye Hongfang escaped from the demon's den. When the authorities caught her, the perpetrators again tortured her until she almost lost the sight in both eyes. These evildoers then took her to Heyuan City and held her for about one year. In July 2003, they sentenced Ye Hongfang to seven years in prison.

On January 13, 2004, the police arrested two Dafa practitioners, Gong Cailan and Zhao Haiqin, from Lianping County, Heyuan City as they were distributing truth clarification materials.

In 1999, Mr. Liu Yuanbo, a Dafa practitioner from Chenxi, Hunan Province was arrested three times. He was brutally tortured. The persecutors hung a placard around his neck and paraded him through the streets in order to humiliate him, in a manner that was frequently used in the cultural revolution. Mr. Liu held a hunger strike, and officials from the national security team and from the "610 Office" sent nearly 20 people to force-feed him [the "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. One of his front teeth was loosened as a result of his mouth being pried open. They also extorted at least 2,000 Yuan from Mr. Liu's parents.

My name is Jiang Yunqiu and I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Tiepo Town, Zhongfang County, Hunan Province. In December 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and was detained at the Huaihua Detention Center. Fifteen days later, the police extorted 480 Yuan from me under the pretext of paying for the food I was given while in detention. On March 8, 2000, the police detained my wife and me at the city detention center for 15 days and forced us to pay 1,000 Yuan. In early July 2000, I went to Beijing again to appeal and was sent to Maimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province and held there for 13 months. During this period I was forced to work 14 hours every day; I was shocked with electric batons; I was forced to stand for a long time every day and wasn't allowed to sleep at night. I was not allowed to use the restroom and was detained in solitary confinement. On September 29, 2002, I was sent to the Huaihua Dispatch Center and held there for 53 days. I held a hunger strike and the police threw me into a solitary confinement cell with an abhorrent stench for seven days. I was also beaten and forced to run for a long time as a part of "military training."

My name is Li Guoxia. I am a female Falun Dafa practitioner from Yiershi, Keyou Qianqi, Inner Mongolia. I have been forced to leave home and live in different places more than three years, only because I persisted in my belief in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. My family was also detained and fined, and they were forced to leave home as well. The police even refused to issue my teenage son an ID card [equivalent of a Social Security Card in the U.S.] and he could not work because of this.

On July 22, 1999, vicious police officers from the Arshan City Police Department, Keyou Qianqi, Inner Mongolia took away items worth more than 10,000 Yuan from a Falun Gong practitioner's home. Zhang Liyan, the male head of the Criminal Police Team extorted a lot of money and personal belongings from Dafa practitioners. Zhang Liyan is personally in charge of arresting Dafa practitioners. He had sentenced a female Dafa practitioner and her brother, also a practitioner, to forced labor. The female practitioner's husband paid more than 40,000 Yuan to have the brother released on bail. When the family asked for the sister's release, Zhang Liyan demanded 60,000 Yuan! On January 17, 2000 [Chinese lunar calendar], more than 30 Dafa practitioners from Arshan City planned to go to Beijing to appeal, but police from the Arshan Forest Police Department arrested all of them before they got on the train. The police extorted money from most of the practitioners' families, in amounts from several thousand Yuan to more than 20,000 Yuan.

Zhu Chenglin, a male guard at Group Two in the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp in Changchun City often savagely beat Dafa practitioners. Once he beat practitioner Mr. Shao Weixin until his face became unrecognizeable. On the day that Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Shouchuang went through the procedure to be released, Zhu Chenglin beat him three times for no reason and shouted, "I'll kill you."

Pan Jinchun, a male inmate and the head of Class Two of Group Two extorted property and money from Dafa practitioners. He often reported on Dafa practitioners in order to persecute them. Sun Weihong and Zhang Peng often cruelly beat Dafa practitioners Mr. Ma Chi and Mr. Pan Gang.
