An Account of the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners at Hebei University of Technology, Langfang Department

(Clearwisdom.net) In the second half of 1999, Hebei University of Technology (Langfang Campus) established a branch of the "610 Office" [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Dafa, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] headed by Li Bing, the secretary of the Langfang Department. Liu Da and Zhang Tieshan are his main followers. They began to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners and forced practitioners Mr. Wang Bingzeng, Mr. Wang Shaoqiu, Mr. Meng Xianhong, Ms. Wang Xiue, Ms. Zhang Cairong, Ms. Liu Hehua, Mr. Yuan Zhi, Ms. Yang Sufen, and others to surrender Falun Dafa books and write statements guaranteeing they would renounce the practice. They subjected Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Wang Bingzeng and Mr. Wang Shaoqiu who refused to give up the practice to brainwashing. The personnel who are in charge of the brainwashing process took turns watching the practitioners. They came around every four hours, 24 hours a day, to make sure practitioners did not sleep. This period of brainwashing and illegal detention lasted for about 15 days.

Afterwards, on every holiday or the so-called sensitive days, they would detain resolute Falun Dafa practitioners for several days, a month or longer. They also used threats against the personal interests of some other employees and relatives to force them to follow and monitor practitioners.

In October 1999, Zhang Tieshan and Zou Haifeng followed and monitored Mr. Wang Shaoqiu. They also colluded with the public security bureau to falsely arrest Mr. Wang Shaoqiu. He was detained for one month and fined 5,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] In May 2000, Li Bing and Zhang Tieshan colluded with the public security bureau to search and ransack the homes of Mr. Wang Bingzeng, Mr. Meng Xianhong and Mr. Wang Shaoqiu. They sent Mr. Wang Bingzeng and Mr. Meng Hongxian to the detention center for about 15 days. In August 2000, the "610 Office" of the Langfang Department colluded with Yan Zhen and others in the public security bureau to falsely arrest Mr. Wang Shaoqiu and Mr. Wang Bingzeng. They brought them to the public security bureau headquarters and cruelly beat Mr. Wang Shaoqiu in an attempt to extort a confession. Later, they sent the two practitioners to the detention center for one month. In October of the same year, Li Bing and Zheng Tieshan colluded with the public security bureau to seize these two practitioners once again and used their influence to illegally sentence Mr. Wang Shaoqiu to 3 years of forced labor.

In July 2003, Mr. Wang Shaoqiu returned home after his forced labor term expired and reported to his work unit, but Duan Yuluan, the Vice Secretary of Langfang Department, refused to admit him. Several days later, Li Bing and Duan Yuluan, in collaboration with the City "610 Office", used fraudulent means to try to deceive Mr. Wang Shaoqiu into attending a brainwashing session. Mr. Wang Shaoqiu saw through their trickery and had no other choice but to leave home to avoid their persecution. Later, Li Bing and Duan Yuluan sent people to closely monitor Mr. Wang's family members. The authorities climbed over the walls at midnight, on two separate occasions, to harass his family members, and also wrote letters asking the village committee to monitor his family.

The corrupt officials at Hebei University of Technology, Langfang Department, halted the salaries of Mr. Wang Shaoqiu and Mr. Wang Bingzeng in October of 2000. In January 2001, they dismissed Ms. Liu Hehua. In September and October 2001, the City "610 Office" sent Mr. Meng Xianhong, Mr. Yuan Zhi, and Wang Xinying to a brainwashing center. They tried to abduct Mr. Wang Bingzeng but failed and as a result, he was forced to leave home to avoid their persecution.
