Song Youchun

(Clearwisdom.net) Twenty-seven days after the persecution death of Song Youchun, who was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Qinglong County, Qinhuangdao Province, the government of Qinglong County, along with the local police department and the government of Tumenzi Town, offered the family compensation of 54,000 yuan [500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. They silently acknowledged the fact that Song Youchun had been killed.

Song Youchun's family members went to the funeral home to pick up his body on January 11, 2004, for a memorial service and internment.

The vehicle carrying Song Youchun's body moved slowly down the road. His daughter, younger brother, and younger sisters stayed on either side of the coffin. It is about 16 miles from the funeral home to the village. Whenever the car passed a village, other vehicles, or passers by, his younger sisters, daughter, and younger brother would call out to them loudly, "Song Youchun was a Falun Gong practitioner. He was persecuted to death by Qinglong Detention Center because he wanted to be good person." At the same time they told people, "Falun Dafa is good." Some people stopped, and some slowed their vehicles, astonished by the scene. When the car arrived at the entrance to Song Youchun's village, many Dafa practitioners, family members, and relatives, wearing white flowers and holding wreaths, were waiting for him. They then followed the funeral car as it slowly proceeded.

It took almost an hour and a half for the funeral procession to travel the one-mile distance from the entrance of the village to his home. Holding 24 banners and wreaths saying, "Clarify the Truth" and "Expose the Evil," more than 60 Dafa practitioners continuously called out along the entire route, "Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa. Return Master's good name. Punish the murderer severely." Their voices resounded throughout the village, reaching Heaven and earth.

Wherever the vehicle passed, the villagers would come out of their houses and follow along, listening to Dafa practitioners describe the persecution that Song Youchun had suffered. They were moved by the grand and solemn procession. They were moved to tears by the two large pictures of Song Yuchun. One, held by his daughter, was of a handsome Song Youchun before his death; the other, held by his nephew, showed Song Youchun after death, his eyes wide open, his body bloodied and as thin as a skeleton. Some villagers ran home to get paper to burn in front of the vehicle in memory of their fellow countryman who was persecuted to death just because of his belief and because he said a word of truth.

The Music of "Pudu" and Jishi," Solemn and Sacred, Awakens Many People and Frightens the Evil

The next day, more than 50 Dafa practitioners from different areas came to the memorial tent, playing sad music and calling out, "Falun Dafa is good!" For Song Youchun's memorial service, they delivered a speech and played the Dafa music "Pudu" and "Jishi." The memorial speech began with the grand Fa-rectification and described Dafa disciples, who are indestructible with their unshakable righteous thoughts and actions. The speech also told people that Falun Dafa is good and ended by wishing good people a safe life. This moved every villager present and awakened those who did not know the truth of Dafa or had misconceptions about Dafa. The villagers expressed their anger about the fact that Song Youchun was persecuted to death and requested that the killers be severely punished. Although it was dark, Dafa practitioners who came to memorialize Song Youchun did not stop. At night, Dafa practitioners took turns staying in the tent, studied the Fa, and sent forth righteous thoughts.

On the third day, before dawn, more than 100 Dafa practitioners held the funeral, standing in front of the tent with hands in the heshi gesture. Song Youchun's brother delivered the eulogy, starting from Song Youchun's birth and his experiences growing up, to joining the army with honors and working in Vietnam and Laos as a driver. He discussed all the great achievements of his ordinary life and his services to the nation and to society. He particularly talked about the tremendous changes in mind and body that Song Youchun experienced after he started practicing Dafa, and his being persecuted to death. The speech summarized his life in a very positive way and at the same time expressed their determination to investigate the killer and their stand to uphold justice in the human world. The audience began to shout loudly right after the speech, "Well done, well done!" Meanwhile, Dafa practitioners shouted loudly, too, "Falun Dafa is good!"

The funeral procession started. The two big pictures of Mr. Song in life and death were at the front, followed by two lines of more than 160 Dafa practitioners holding 53 wreaths and six banners. Family members, relatives, and friends were at the end. The band played sad music. Dafa practitioners shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa! Song Youchun was persecuted to death! Severely punish the killers! Return Master's good name!" and other similar phrases. Some villagers and children followed suit, their voices echoing in the sky and in the universe, shaking heaven and earth.

During the entire funeral, Dafa practitioners' benevolent and solemn actions awakened and saved many people. One of Song Youchun's younger brothers said again and again to the audience, "I originally did not understand Falun Gong. My brother, my sister-in-law, my younger sister, and my brother-in-law were abducted and detained many times, but I never asked about it. Today, however, I was moved. I was moved by Dafa practitioners' benevolent and kind actions and noble thoughts. Dafa practitioners' sentiments are the purest, kindest, and the most sacred."

After the vehicle arrived home, family members went several times to the local police station and the local government to validate Dafa and clarify the truth to the officials, but nobody was there. What the evil fears most is for people, in their quest for justice, to know the truth. Knowing that they were wrong, the officials had already gone into hiding .
