In "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference" Master explained issues involved with clarifying the truth to people very clearly. I would like to share my understanding about these issues based on situations I encountered while I was clarifying the truth to people.

Master said: "Make sure you do it rationally and soberly. When you clarify the truth to people you have to consider their level of acceptance." Because of certain experiences, I have a deeper understanding of this sentence. Once after I clarified the truth to a person, she expressed a desire to learn the exercises. I taught her the exercises, and gave her my books and the exercise tape. Later on when she came to my house to practice the exercises, I did not put away Master's Fa-picture, which I keep as a shrine on a table, because I thought that her understanding was sufficient. She stared at Master's picture for a while and did not say anything. Afterwards, she said she was feeling tired and then sat down to rest. I did not mention to her that feeling tired was a normal physical response to doing the exercises. She left and never came back, although she had not finished learning all five exercises. Even to this day I cannot figure out what went wrong with the whole situation. But this problem touched me very deeply. I realized that I have to be very careful about timing, location, and way of speaking when I clarify the truth to people. If I neglect any aspect I might lose the chance to help someone gain salvation.

I admire very much those practitioners who dare to speak out for justice openly in public. But when clarifying the truth to people in this way, we have to be especially careful about our way of speaking. Chinese people, having been governed by the rule of tyrants (not by rule of law) for a long period of history, are usually somewhat timid. If we speak openly to a big crowd: "Don't listen to those lies broadcast by the TV programs!" then we might scare away the audience. Besides, when we clarify the truth to people, we have to have a gentle attitude and have to let people feel our benevolence. We also have to put emphasis on the topics of the crimes committed by Jiang and his followers, avoiding mention of any other social problems to prevent any possible misunderstanding that we oppose our government.

We should consider two other things. First, we should not call people in the early morning or after midnight to clarify the truth. Secondly, we should not send truth-clarifying e-mails too frequently.

In "Fa-lecture During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference" Master said:

"So far the beings of the old cosmos, and this includes all the elements of beings, when it comes to the Fa-rectification and what I choose, all beings' harmonizing and completing things according to my choices and contributing their best ideas and approaches--not to change what I want, but to harmonize and complete things according to what I've said--is the best (shan) thought a being in the cosmos can have."

In the past when we clarified the truth, sometimes we would leave loopholes. Whenever we find out that we or our fellow practitioners have loopholes, we have to rectify the shortcomings in time to avoid negative results. This is a kind of harmonizing. I do believe if we study the Fa diligently, we will gain our wisdom and power from Dafa. Our levels would become higher and we also can do truth-clarifying work better.

Additionally, one thing Master said in one paragraph of "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference" regarding "...if you want others to do well, you have to do well yourself first...." inspires me very deeply. Because I think my cultivation is not as good as others, I feel quite embarrassed to express my ideas. I realized that this is not correct, and that I should do my best to share my understandings with fellow practitioners.
