Belated Wedding Reception Provides Opportunity to Clarify the Truth on a Large Scale

(Clearwisdom.net) My daughter was married when SARS was rampant in China, so we did not hold a reception.

On China's National Day, "October 1," my daughter and new son-in-law were planning to come home to visit. When neighbors, relatives, and friends heard the news they all asked me to hold a reception for the newlyweds. At first I did not think it was necessary, but people kept calling one after another. They seemed to be pleading with me, "Please give us a chance to all see each other."

My daughter and I both practice Falun Dafa. Suddenly we realized: Although we had clarified the truth of Falun Gong to them in the past, many still did not have upright thoughts in their minds. It was their true selves longing to learn the truth. Why not use the reception as an opportunity to clarify the truth to them!

Therefore, we began to make preparations. Some fellow practitioners helped to make truth clarification material. They burned compact discs and made colored gift bags to hold the materials for each guest. We also discussed that every practitioner who attended the wedding banquet would send forth righteous thoughts together at set times and sit at different tables, making it convenient to clarify the truth on a wider scale.

On the day of the wedding banquet, we arrived at the restaurant ahead of time. As we received the guests, we clarified the truth to them. In the banquet, I went around proposing toasts to the guests and used the opportunity to chat with them a bit. I told them that Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truth-Compassion-Tolerance) was good, that they would have a good future if they believed this. I also told them the news that because Jiang Zemin persecuted Falun Gong, he has been sued overseas. Everybody listened and nodded in agreement. Some even thanked me from their hearts. Some retired government officials said in good humour, "This banquet is only a pretense for promoting Falun Gong!" Other government officials said, "I really admire and envy your Teacher, who has such good disciples using this chance to promote Dafa. Please feel relieved. I support Dafa and am in no way against you!"

When the wedding banquet had ended, everyone agreed that it was still Falun Gong practitioners who had good personal relationships with other people. They enjoyed the meal and the company. My family and the other practitioners were even happier, because more people learned the truth about Falun Dafa.
