Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Hong is from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. She works at Nuerhe Textile Factory. Ms. Wang went to Beijing to validate Dafa on
January 8, 2001 and was arrested. She was sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for a term of 3 years. Wang remains firm in her belief in Falun Dafa. She is still being held in the labor camp, although her 3-year term has already passed.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Wenjuan is from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. Ms. Wang was abducted and sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for a term of 3 years. Her term will be completed on January 18, 2004. Ms. Wang also remains firm in her belief.

Mr. Huang Kui is a graduate student at the School of Delicate Instruments and Mechanical Devices at Tsinghua University (He studies in the same department as Wang Weiyu, another Dafa practitioner.). In mid-December 2000, Huang, 4 male practitioners, and 1 female practitioner were arrested in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. The female practitioner was sentenced to 3 and a half years in jail and the five male practitioners were each sentenced to 5 years in jail. They are currently detained in Sihui City, Guangdong Province, where they are forced to do hard physical labor every day.

Ms. Li Aihua is an English teacher at Huabei Petroleum Technical Institute. Because she firmly cultivates Dafa, she was arrested and will soon be sentenced to jail.

Ms. Guo Yongzhen works at a company in Huabei Oil Field. She is being detained in Renqiu Detention Center (Hebei Province), where the staff are trying to force her to give up her beliefs.

Ms. Qin Sue works at Huabei Oil Field. She is currently under detention at an unknown location.

Mr. Li Chunguang is a lecturer and an Associate Professor at Beijing's Central Institute of Nationalities. He was detained and inhumanely tortured in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing.

Mr. Zhao Xianming has a Master's Degree from Canada. He was detained in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing, where he was badly tortured.

On January 9, 2004, the police destroyed several sites in Dongli District, Harbin City that produce truth-clarifying materials. At the same time, 15 practitioners were arrested: Zhang Guiying (63 years old, Quxian street), Xu Guanzhi (58, Sandao Street, Hexing District), Li Guilan (54, Spring Factory family quarters), Yin Meijing (49, Measuring Instrument Factory), Kong Qingzhi (46, Wenduan Street), Kong Huifen (63, Measuring Instrument Factory), Luo Jianbo (30, Minsheng Road), Zhou Fumei (62, Bile Street), Zhou Fujun (58, Wenhua Street), Jing Shaohua (62, Zhenxing Street), Chu Xiujing (56, Pinggong Street), Piao Wansheng (38), Wang Shumin (40), Zu Lihong (45), and Yang Jun (48, Daxing Street).

The agencies responsible for the arrests are the following: State Security Group in Dongli District, Jinxiang Street Police Station, Daqing Road Police Station, Liming Town Police Station, Minsheng Road Police Station.

Since July 20, 1999, many practitioners in Anqiu City have been seriously persecuted: they have been illegally detained, their homes have been ransacked, and they have had to pay huge amounts of money in fines (up to 30, 000 yuan) [500 yuan is the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.] Over 50 Dafa practitioners have been illegally sentenced to jail or forced labor camps.

Practitioners sent to forced labor camps include: Zhao Yonghong, Liu Xiaoyan, Gui Rong, Tang Zengyan, Li Huanwu, Zhao Fengmei, Du Tiening, Wang Yongmei, Song Tingshan, Ma Aiyu, Song Xiumei, Li Rendong, Yang Jinbo, Sun Guoming, Wang Jinquan, Wei Guoqing, Sun Yezhi, Sun Yefeng, Lu Hongxin, Wang Jinyi, Zhang Xi, daughter of Lou Guoyun (Shasha), Zhang Xia, Sun Jianfang, Zhang Xiuqin, Xu Jingping, Wang Peizhi, Su Baoyun, Su Xiaoyou, Xu Jinying (sent to a forced labor camp twice), Sun Xijian, Dai Zongqiu, Wang Guixiu, Xin Dongsheng, Mo Jianzhen, Wang He, Wang Xueyun, Zhang Yuelan, Wang Tiancai, Li Xiuwen (sent to a forced labor camp twice), Liu Xiumei, Shi Guilan, Li Wencai, Mr./Ms. Zhong (first name unknown), and three other practitioners whose names are unknown.

Practitioners sentenced to jail terms include: Li Cuiping (5 years), Li Airong (10 years), Li Mingwei (7 years, [he/she was only 18 years old at the time]), Lou Guoyun (2 years), Zhang Zhenfang (5 years), Gao Hongjie (10 years), Li Xiuzhen (7 years), Liu Qingmei (12 years).

Recently, over 10 practitioners were sent to Yantai Brainwashing Center. The local "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, and all other political and judiciary systems] arrested a number of practitioners (those practitioners known to be firmly cultivating Dafa) and tried to extort 2,000 yuan from each of them.

I was illegally detained for firmly cultivating Dafa. One morning, I and several other practitioners were taken to the Dispatch Office of the Forced Labor Bureau in Beijing, where fully armed police officers lined up in formation to "welcome" us. First, we were told the "rules:" all inmates must keep their head down at all times, while walking, standing, sitting, or squatting. Whenever one raises his head a little, the police immediately hit and curse that person. As a result of this "rule," many inmates have never seen the guard's faces. A strip-check comes next. I could hear frequent sounds of beating, cursing, and the buzzing of electric batons. I also heard the sudden, horrible cries of the practitioners being shocked (by electric batons). An atmosphere of terror surrounded everyone. While all inmates stood in formation, the persecutors loudly asked Dafa practitioners to step forward. Once a practitioner stepped forward, five or six guards closed in on the practitioner and forced him to a stool on the side, where there were some papers and a pen. "Write what we tell you to!" The guards shouted, trying to force the practitioner to write a "guarantee letter" against Dafa. When a practitioner refused, he was beaten and shocked with electric clubs. After that, if the practitioner still refused to cooperate with them, the persecutors forced him to stand outside in the freezing cold (between - 10^o C and - 20^o C, or around 0 degrees Fahrenheit) from morning until midnight. As a result, many practitioners' extremities were injured by frostbite.

The Dispatch Office forces the practitioners to produce disposable chopsticks from early morning until 9 at night. The persecutors do not dare to let people outside the labor camp know this, as they know such activities violate the international rules of the WTO (World Trade Organization). Moreover, the chopsticks are not hygienic at all: between 10 and 20 people work in a small room, and the chopsticks are piled on the filthy floor, where they are sometimes walked on before being packaged. All the inmates do is put the chopsticks into envelopes and pack them into paper bags printed with "hygienic chopsticks" and permits from the Hygienic Guard Bureau. The inmate-workers do not disinfect their hands, even though some of them have skin diseases. Some inmates who work on the chopsticks are drug addicts. There are even inmates who rub the chopsticks on their feet on purpose. When Dafa practitioners reported the situation to the Bureau of Forced Labor Through Re-education, their warnings were ignored and told that they were "disturbing order."

On January 14, 2004, Minghui (website of the Chinese version of Clear Wisdom) reported that 8 practitioners were on a hunger strike in Dalian Prison. After the prison received some phone calls from Dafa practitioners overseas, practitioners were allowed to see their visitors, and the hunger strike ended. The phone calls from our fellow practitioners overseas have had a great effect.
