Dallas Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Participate In Haggard Middle School International Festival (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The City of Plano, Texas has a large immigrant population. Recently, more Chinese people settled here. To allow students and their parents to better understand each other within this multicultural environment, Haggard Middle School held an International Festival on the evening of January 27. The school invited groups representing different countries to give performances and display their countries' traditional culture. Falun Gong practitioners from the Dallas area were also invited to participate in this event. They brought the audience three performances that featured traditional Chinese culture.

A female Falun Gong practitioner performed a dance solo, the peacock dance, a traditional Chinese folk dance from the Dai nationality. It symbolizes peace, beauty and happiness. The audience enjoyed the graceful peacock dance.

Then eight practitioners of all ages, including an elementary school student, a high school student, and a 70-year-old gentleman, demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. This allowed the audience to understand that everyone can learn the exercises. A young practitioner who is a high school student introduced Falun Gong and the exercises to the audience. While practitioners demonstrated the exercises, some students and their parents and teachers also tried to copy the movements.

In the end, several female practitioners performed a group dance that they choreographed to the music "Traveling between Heaven and Earth," which was composed by a fellow practitioner in China. The practitioners dressed in elegant Tang Dynasty clothing, danced like angels. Their costumes and performance brought the audience something new and fresh. In the end when the music reached its climax, two practitioners unfurled a banner that read, "Falun Dafa is Great." The audience warmly applauded and the entire festival reached a climax.

After the performance, the middle school presented practitioners with an award to express their appreciation for practitioners' participation and their wonderful performance that displayed the beauty of the Chinese culture. After the event concluded, a Chinese student said in Chinese to a practitioner who was dressed in the exercise uniform, "Falun Dafa is great!"
