Falun Dafa practitioner Qian Youyun is from the Jiangxia District of Wuhan City. On December 19, 2003, Qian was abducted while distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials, and is probably being held at the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center. Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Mei from Jiangxia District was also abducted and sent to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center for distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials.

Staff members of the brainwashing center have been mixing vinegar and hallucinogenic drugs into the food that is force-fed to Falun Dafa practitioners. Practitioners appear agitated after being force-fed, and the suffering they have endured is beyond description.

Seventeen-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ou Yan was prosecuted by the Changzhou Procuratorate in Wuzhou City for refusing to renounce Falun Dafa, and has been unlawfully sentenced to four years in prison. The prosecuting attorney was Liu Yanhui, a female in her twenties.

According to a Neighborhood Administration office cadre in Wuhan City, higher authorities have ordered them to visit the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners. Whenever Falun Gong books or materials are spotted, they are supposed to call in people to round up the practitioners and send them to a brainwashing center. The cadre complained that he did not want to carry out such orders, especially during the Chinese New Year holiday season.

According to reliable sources, a so-called "Beijing Legal Training Center" in the Daxing District of Beijing has been dedicated to the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Most of those practitioners within the facility, who are held in isolation and surrounded by armed police officers, were transferred there from out of town. They are brainwashed daily either by police officers or collaborators [former Falun Dafa practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture.] Practitioners held there have completely lost all personal freedom. As long as they refuse to give up their belief, they face indefinite imprisonment.

Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Rao Chunmei and her husband, Hu Shaolin, both in their thirties, used to work odd jobs in Chengdu City. Ms. Rao is from Da County, while Mr. Hu is from Pi County, both in Sichuan Province. In March 1998, Ms. Rao began learning Falun Gong, and in May 1998, returned to Da County to establish the first Falun Gong practice site there. Within two weeks, over thirty people began practicing Falun Gong with her, and the number of practitioners continued to grow. Following July 20, 1999, she was among the very first of those who went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. In May 2001, she and other practitioners from her hometown again went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. She was pregnant by then and endured much hardship. Her husband, Hu, often rode a motorcycle there to join other practitioners in the exercises. Sometime after July 20, 1999, he was unlawfully arrested for going to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. He was released in August 2000.

In July 2001, the couple attended a Falun Dafa conference in Pi County, where they were both arrested. Mr. Hu Shaolin was secretly sentenced to five years of forced labor at the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang City. Despite her pregnancy, the authorities secretly sentenced Ms. Rao to four years of forced labor at an unspecified facility in Jianyang City.

Shenyang City Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Guan Shuyun was arrested around December 29, 2003. She has most likely been transferred to a brainwashing facility. Further details are still pending investigation.

On December 30, 2003, officers from the Liaotun Township Police Station in Beining City unlawfully arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Pang Yukun and Lu Sujie. At the time of this writing, both practitioners had already been on a hunger strike for six days.

On the morning of November 6, 2003, several plainclothes officers caught Chengdu City Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Tian Suhua while she was distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials, and took her to the Niushikou Police Station. At around 3:00 p.m. the police ransacked her home. She was held in the Pi County Detention Center for fifteen days, before being transferred to a brainwashing center, where she still remains. Staff members conducting the brainwashing class feigned politeness toward her and called in her family to persuade her to write statements renouncing Falun Gong. They also threatened that if she refused to comply, she would be transferred to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center for further persecution. Two people have been assigned to watch and harass her around the clock. Her family has had 500 yuan extorted from them by the authorities who used an excuse it was for "living expenses." [The average monthly income of an urban worker is around 500 yuan.] Ms. Tian adamantly refused to write any such statements, and has continued to practice Falun Gong exercises, even while in the detention center. She maintains a peaceful and quiet attitude toward the brainwashing staff, allowing no unwelcome opportunities for the evil forces.

At around 7:00 p.m. on November 26, 2003, police officers patrolling on Wenyi Road abducted Shenyang City Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yao Shuxia, a 48-year-old resident of the Shenhe District's Fenfang Residential Complex. She had been posting leaflets exposing the facts of the persecution against Falun Dafa. Ms. Yao is currently being held in the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center.

Authorities in Benxi City, planned to abduct Falun Dafa practitioners to a brainwashing center before the Chinese New Year's Day (January 22, 2004) and hold them there without letting them spend the holiday season at home. Management at the Beitai Iron and Steel Factory has begun coercing Falun Dafa practitioners in subordinate factories to write so-called "statements of guarantee." ["Guarantee statements" declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.] Those who have been brainwashed in the past will have to rewrite their statements. Anyone who refuses to comply will be sent to the brainwashing center. Factory workers laid off in 1996 have never received any benefits since that layoff, yet their former employer is still coercing them to write "guarantee statements."

The Shuangtaizi District Branch of the Panjin City Police Department recently hired a group of laid off factory workers at a monthly compensation of 300 Yuan each, to form a brigade to patrol the various residential areas in the Shuangtaizi District around the clock. Chen Yongping, the Shuangtaizi District Branch assistant police chief, called a meeting of everyone in the branch and issued them two tasks: One is to arrest any Falun Gong practitioner who distributes truth clarifying materials; and the other is to remove any Falun Gong posts that disseminate the facts of the persecution against Falun Gong.

One member of the new brigade said, "I'm not going to arrest anyone, but since I am collecting wages, I should at least remove any Falun Gong truth clarifying notices."

Thus, in order to make a living, otherwise unemployable people have been forced to carry out the police department's evil deeds. The new brigade has arrested Chen Chuanli and another Falun Dafa practitioner while distributing leaflets exposing the facts of the persecution against Falun Gong. The practitioners are being held at the Panjin City Detention Center.

At around 11:00 a.m. on January 9, 2004, officers from the Harbin City Police Department, the Nangang Branch Police Department and the Hongqi Township Police Station broke into a Falun Dafa practitioner's Mingxing Village home and arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Piao Wansheng and Wang Shumin. The officers also confiscated Falun Dafa books and a video player. Immediately afterwards the police went to Falun Dafa practitioner Zu Lihong's home to place Zu under arrest as well.

On the evening of January 6, 2004, officers from the Liyuan Police Station arrested Weifang City Falun Dafa practitioner Tian Yuqiang, who was distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials. The next afternoon, the Kuiwen Branch of the Weifang Police Department broke into Tian's home and conducted an unlawful search. It has been reported that Tian is being inhumanely tortured, and that Tian's family members have been denied visitation.

Ms. Sun Shiying is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Niuweishan Village, in Yangshulin Township, Nong'an County, Jilin Province. On the evening of November 12, 2003, Zhang Yaming and several other officers from the Yangshulin Township Police Station broke into Sun's home to unlawfully place her under arrest. Ms. Sun's sister-in-law, a non-practitioner, tried to stop the police from taking Ms. Sun away, but officers drew their service revolvers and threatened to shoot. The next day, Ms. Sun Shiying was sentenced to one year at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

Tang Xifu is a Falun Dafa practitioner from the Hongguang Farm in Qianguo, Songyuan City. On December 15, 2003, Wu Mingli and other police officers from the Hongguang Police Station arrested Tang for practicing Falun Dafa.

In July 2003, some villagers informed on a group of practitioners from Feicheng City that was distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials in Xilicun Village, which is located in Taoyuan Town, Feicheng City. Consequently, seven of the practitioners were unlawfully arrested. On October 27, 2003, the Feicheng City Court unlawfully sentenced Zhang Lianzhen and Qi Guiyun to two and a half years each, while Gao Changyin and Zhai Shenlan were both sentenced to three years in prison.

On November 25, 2003, agents of the Leihe City "610 Office" and officers from the Leihe City Police Department arrested Tang Sizhi, Yan Yinfeng and twenty-four other Leihe area Falun Dafa practitioners at their homes. ["610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] The practitioners are all being held against their will at the Party's training school of Yancheng County, where videotapes defaming Falun Dafa and its founder are shown on a daily basis. Each Falun Dafa practitioner is kept in isolation, monitored around the clock and brainwashed by an assigned team of four people. Collaborator Zhao Guohuan [a former practitioner who has betrayed his belief due to brainwashing and torture] leads others in taking turns at brainwashing the practitioners, day and night. Officials from various towns and townships in the three counties and lone district in the Leihe area have also participated in the persecution.

On the afternoon of December 25, 2003, officers from the Yancheng County Police Department arrested Leihe City Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Qiuju at the flourmill where she was working. She is currently being held at the Yancheng County Detention Center.

In 2002, some Henan Agricultural University officials used their connections to unlawfully send a university employee, Ms. Zhao Xilian, to the Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City. Ms. Zhao endured all sorts of mental and physical torture there before the forced labor camp authorities notified the university officials that she was being returned to them. Since then, however, the university officials have sent Ms. Zhao to the Xinxiang Mental Hospital, where she remains illegally imprisoned.

Harbin City Falun Dafa practitioner Huang Xiangwei is being held in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. Huang's health is in critical condition after having been on a 45-day hunger strike. Huang's family has demanded his release on several occasions. The forced labor camp authorities had initiated the medical parole process, but later said that it had been denied. The local "610 Office" has also agreed to take him home, but the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp still refuses to release Huang Xiangwei.

In early October 2003, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. He Zhiyong, a 37-year-old employee of the Chongqing Branch Railroad Bureau, was abducted to the Jingkou Brainwashing Center.

Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Ying and Sun Guiqing are from Duanjia Village, Dengshahe Town, Jinzhou, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. Around 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2004, informants called the police while the two practitioners were distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying leaflets and unfurling banners. They were arrested and have been held at the Sanli Detention Center in Jinzhou.

Falun Dafa practitioners Yan Changjun and Kan Guihong are from Huanxiling Ridge, in Panjin City. While they were distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials, recently, some Nanjing Border Patrol Police Station officers arrested them. The police station telephone number is 86-427-7548751.

Two Heze City sisters, Ms. Zhang Yu'e and Ms. Zhang Fenglan are Falun Dafa practitioners who respectively reside in Zhangjie Village, Datun Township, Dongming County; and in Xianghuzhai Village, Hecao County. In late May 2003, a joint police force from the Political and Security Section of the Heze City Police Department, the Dongming County Police Department and the Datun Township Police Station searched their homes and placed them under arrest. The sisters were taken to the Dongming County Detention Center and have remained there ever since. Their family members have rarely been granted visitation. Their children and mother, who is in her 70's, have been left unattended. Zhang Yu'e was in the lumber business and had over 10,000 yuan of her personal savings in her closet [Note: In China it is very common for people to keep their personal savings at home instead of in the banks which are notoriously unreliable and corruption is rampant]. While the police were conducting their illegal search, the officers dumped the cash on the floor. After the police left, Zhang's family discovered that over 5,000 yuan of her savings was stolen. The Zhang family has spent tens of thousands of yuan to get the sisters out of jail, but to no avail. It is reported that the sisters will soon be put on trial.
