Persecution against Dafa Practitioners from Certain Individuals in the Party Committee in the Xianhe Oil Production Field and Shengli Oil Field

(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, the Party committee of the Xianhe Oil Production Field has closely followed Jiang's group and carried out the secret order of "bankrupting them financially, destroying them physically and defaming their reputation." The leader of this effort is secretary Man Yuanchun who personally proceeded with the brutal persecution against the practitioners. The facts are as follows:

After July 20, 1999, practitioner Li Xiaodong and Li Jiwei from the Le'an sub-base supply station, were taken back for appealing for Falun Dafa in Beijing. Party secretary Man Yuanchun ordered the political instructor of the oil field to unlawfully detain the two practitioners for one week and fined them 700 Yuan*.

In order to safeguard Dafa, Li Xiaodong, Li Jiwei and Feng Dongzhen once again appealed to the National Civil Administration Bureau. They were forcibly taken back and detained in the security department. The next day they were sent to a detention center. Since it was the time of the Spring Festival, the police in the detention center didn't provide them food, instead, asked their families to deliver them meals. It was not until more than a dozen practitioners went on a hunger strike that the detention center started to release them. Right after they got released, leaders from Xianhe Oilfield had them detained at the factory supply station. Li Xiaochun kept going on a hunger strike.

They were afraid of taking responsibility so they transferred practitioners to Caoqiao Supply Station for detention. While they were detained there, under order from secretary Man Yuanchun, the police viciously tortured Li Xiaodong. Just because Li Xiaodong read Dafa books, the books were confiscated. They tied him up to a tree to publicly humiliate him. In order to resist the unlawful persecution, Li Xiaodong went on hunger strike again. He was even forced to do heavy physical labor during the hunger strike. Around February and March they even sent the mentally healthy and normal Li Xiaodong into the Psychiatric Hospital of the 8^th Branch of the oil field to be persecuted for his spiritual belief. Since the doctors diagnosed that Li Xiaodong was not mentally ill, the hospital refused to accept him.

Party committee secretary Man Yuanchun looked all around for contacts. He asked that the oil field's Party committee to put pressure onto the hospital. Li Xiaodong was sent to the psychiatric hospital three times this way and finally bowing to political pressure, the hospital accepted him. After being detained in the hospital, Li Xiaodong was to be subjected to undergo injections with psychotropic drugs, but Li Xiaodong firmly resisted. The hospital officials therefore proceeded to administer electric shock treatments [known as ECT] to immobilize him and then injected him with drugs against his will. During that period, the hospital required two daily escorts from his work. His coworkers suffered tremendous fear and were persecuted too by having to monitor their former colleague. His coworkers witnessed that a normal person received such abusive treatment and they all lodged a protest. Due to the strong requests from his coworkers, supply station leaders tried to cut a deal with his father without Li Xiaodong's knowledge, about paying a 7,000 Yuan fee to the hospital in return for permission to let Li Xiaodong stay at home and be taken care of by his family as he was not permitted to go to work. In October 2000, Xianhe officials once again detained Li Xiaodong in the security department for nine months. By July 2001, Li Xiaodong was expelled from his job for not renouncing his belief in Falun Dafa. His work unit in conjunction with the authorities forced him to attend a brainwashing session that lasted as long as six months.

On March 5, 2000, practitioner Niu Aiqing, Wei Shuzhen and Song Aifang of the 1^st and 2^nd division of the Xianhe Field went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. After they were intercepted on their way there, they were illegally detained in the small dinning hall of the 1^st division. Party secretary Man Yuanchun instructed a division leader to get Gong Bingying, Li Xinglun, Li Fang and Yan Lei who were detained in that dining hall as well. Once rounded up, the authorities attempted to force the practitioners to write a so-called "Guarantee Statement"** to renounce their belief in Falun Dafa. Practitioners refused to cooperate with them. The authorities then detained Gong Bingying and Wei Shuzhen for 15 days without going through any legal procedure. Niu Aiqing was not detained in the detention center because she had a four-month-old baby. However, she was also detained in the small dining hall for more than a month and the infant suffered from the abuse, too. During this period, Man Yuanchun instructed related personnel to spread horrifying rumors about the detained practitioners that made family members of the practitioners suffer immense mental pressure.

During July and August of 2000, the 1^st division from Xianhe detained Niu Aiqing, Gong Bingying and Yan Lei in the small dining hall. They blocked the only tiny window in this room during that hot summer. Even though practitioners could not eat and sleep enough, they forced them do the heavy manual labor and dirty work.

On October 23, 2000, with Man Yuanchun's instructions, the Xianhe Security Department once again detained Dafa practitioners. They took Feng Dongzhen, Zeng Aihong, Li Jiwei, Niu Aiqing, Gong Bingying, Wei Shuzhen, Chen Yanying, Pan Wenying and Zhang Yinghua under force to the Security Department. These practitioners were maliciously tortured during that time, just because they refused to write the so-called "Guarantee Statement." They were forced to watch a videotape that slandered Dafa. Because they would not renounce their belief, the Security Department personnel subjected them to torture in an attempt to get them to change their mind.

Shang Baoqiang, security department head and others beat the young female practitioner Zhang Yinghua until she was covered with blue bruises all over her body. He used a rubber-covered baton and put her into an interrogation room for two days and nights. Zeng Aihong was pulled into the interrogating room by her hair by Shang Baoqiang, when she was discovered reading Falun Dafa materials. The authorities pushed her onto a table and three of them beat her with batons in turn for over an hour.

Shang Baoqiang grabbed her hair to slam her head against a wall. They beat the young female practitioner black and blue on her face, and she sustained cuts and bruises all over her body. Dafa practitioner Ms. Niu Aiqing merely said, "You have gone too far this time." Shang Baoqiang then slapped her face over and over and again grabbed her by the hair to slam her head against a wall. He handcuffed her then kicked her while she was bound.

Because Feng Dongzhen recited the teachings from Falun Dafa books, Shang Baoqiang beat her with the baton in front of all the practitioners, then he pulled her outdoors and beat her outside. The practitioners couldn't bear watching him abuse their fellow practitioner any more. All practitioner came outside to demand that he stop beating Feng Dongzhen. The perpetrators then handcuffed all practitioners together. Just because Ms. Niu Aiqing urged the authorities to treat practitioners well, they hung her separately in a little dark room where she could barely touch the ground with her toes. After that they hung her up on a water heater pipe in the meeting room for seven days and nights. She still was firm and refused to renounce her belief! Then they moved her to the interrogation room for two days and nights. Not only did she not get any sleep during these ten days and nights, but also received no food. The combination of sleep deprivation and forced starvation resulted in her lapsing into a coma.

At the same time they put Ms. Niu Aiqing into a separate room, then put Ms. Feng Dongzhen and Ms. Zeng Aihong in the same room. Those two were locked up inside for six days and nights and not given any food as well. In a show of support, all the detained practitioners joined together to conduct a hunger strike to protest the savage torture and abuse being perpetrated against them and demanded they be unconditionally released since they had committed no crimes. The security department people became afraid of anyone dying as a result of their torture and abuse. They stopped hanging people by their handcuffs but instead locked them up. Security department enforcers didn't even exempt a 60-year-old person. Qi Hongsheng beat up Dafa practitioner Wei Shuzen, a woman approximately 50 years old, for over an hour. She had wounds all over her body. The authorities also beat up Ms. Chen Yanying, who was over 60 years old.

Around June 2001, Li Xiaodong went to Beijing for appeal and was arrested back. He was hung up for three days and nights in the hallway of security section. During these three days, Qi Hongsheng and others took turns beating Li Xiaodong. They not only punched and kicked practitioners but also used sticks and police batons. Li Xiaodong was barely able to take a breath. Then he was shackled in a metal chair for several days.

Fearing the exposure of their evil deeds, in December 18, 2000, all these Dafa practitioners were transferred to the remote Farm Product Company. The security section enforcers there became even more reckless. Because Li Xiaodong refused to watch a video that defamed Dafa, he was shackled to a metal rack on the snowy ground outside. The snow-covered ground was the only place for him to sit. An old doorman secretly passed him a piece of cardboard. Once, Qi Hongsheng and Shang Baoqiang beat Li Xiaodong all day long. All the practitioners went on a hunger strike again to protest this renewed abuse and try to stop the persecution. Because Dafa practitioners refused to watch any videos that defamed Dafa, they were beaten daily by the authorities and dragged to the video room to be forced to watch the videos. The Security Section was short-handed, so they transferred staff from Caoqiao to help them torture Dafa practitioners. These personnel were not allowed to go back home to visit their families, even during the Spring Festival, which was designed to cause them to blame and resent the Dafa practitioners.

On January 8, 2001, Niu Aiqing and Chen Yanying were forcibly sent to the Oilfield Formal Institute for brainwashing. With the protection of the Fa and the power of righteous thoughts, Niu Aiqing escaped. Zeng Aihong, Feng Dongzhen, Wei Shuzhen and Li Xiaodong were also forcibly taken to the Oilfield First Institute for brainwashing. Because they didn't cooperate, they were sent back to the Farm Product Company, and were only given a little bit to eat everyday. All this torture resulting from the persecution had severely damaged them, both physically and emotionally.

While all the acts of mental and physical abuse and mistreatment were going on, under instruction from secretary Man Yuanchun, the evil personnel proceeded with plans to financially ruin the Dafa practitioners by fining them exorbitant sums of money for the authorities own enrichment. Niu Aiqing was fined 10,000 Yuan* and more than 8,000 Yuan was deducted from a one-year salary payment. Gong Bingying received only 300 Yuan per month living expenses. Zhong Aihong, Feng Dongzhen, Li Xiaodong and Li Jiwei had their salaries cut. Wei Shuzhen was fined 5,000 Yuan; Chen Yanying was fined 10,000 Yuan; and Pan Wenying was fined 10,000 Yuan. During the time they were detained at the Farm Products Company, their work unit managers forced them to resign. Li Xiaodong, Niu Aidong and others were forced to quit in July 2001, losing their jobs.

On April 23, 2001, the Xingda Company management deceived Chen Yanying into coming to the company for a meeting and then the management detained her for over a month. In the meantime, persons from the Xianhe Security Section detained Li Xiaodong and Zhang Yinghua more than three months.

In 2001, Man Yuanchun instructed related persons to send Dafa practitioners Feng Dongzhen, Zeng Aihong, Li Jiwei and Zhang Yinghua to a labor camp for three years and Gong Bingying for one year.

In September 2001, Dafa practitioner Li Fang from the First Oilfield was arrested and taken to the Security Section for printing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials at her own expense. Shang Baoqiang and others interrogated her and didn't allow her to sleep for six days and nights. After having been detained for one month, she was sent to the notorious Wang Village Labor Camp for brainwashing. She suffered the same inhuman mental torture there and was also fined 5,000 Yuan.

On November 26, 2001, Dafa practitioners Shang Zherong and another whose last name was Wang from the First Oilfield posted Falun Gong truth-clarify flyers and were arrested. After having been detained at the Security Section for over three days, they were sent to the Wang Village Labor Camp for additional oppression and fined 5,000 Yuan respectively.

In the Fall of 2001, some officers from the First Oilfield commenced an illegal search of Dafa practitioner Yan Lei's dormitory. All his Dafa books were confiscated. He was sent to the Wang Village brainwashing session. In November 2001 officers from the First Oilfield harassed Yan Lei again. They along with the help of his father, sent Yan Lei to a psychiatric hospital in Hebei Province, a place specially designed to persecute Dafa practitioners. They subjected him to physical and mental "double torture." He has so far not been released.

On October 28, 2003, Dafa practitioner Li Xinglun from the First Oilfield was sent to the Wang Village brainwashing session for distributing Dafa flyers. This mental anguish caused him severe stress. He had nearly 10,000 Yuan of his personal savings extorted from him.
