Persecution of Dafa Practitioners Suffered in Daqing City, Zhaoyuan County

http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/7/16/24153.html) Ms. Zheng Wenqin's Death Due to the Persecution Zheng Wenqin went to appeal in Beijing, the constitutional right of every
Chinese citizen, after the persecution began in July 1999. Officers from the
Zhaoyuan Town, Zhaoyuan County Police Station arrested her on Tiananmen Square.
They conspired with the Political Security Brigade officers from the same county
and sent her to the Zhaoyuan Detention Center. They tortured her with electric
batons. She was subjected to a type of hanging torture. They hung her up by her
arms for long hours and battered her arms with wine bottles. This caused
excruciating pain. They deprived her of sleep, humiliated her, cursed at her, physically
assaulted her for a few days after which they sent her to the detention center.
After a month, she was transferred to the Zhaoyuan County Public Security
Detention Center for another four months. She went on a hunger strike to protest
the persecution, and started to do the exercises. As a result she was inhumanly
beaten up by Jiang Yongquan and Di Guojun, and force-fed. Because her family
members saw her weight loss to a mere seventy jin (1 jin = 0.5
kilogram), they paid a fine of over two thousand yuan to secure her release from
the detention center. Those involved indirectly in her persecution were: 1. The
previous head of the county, Gao Yuan; 2. the previous director of the "610
Office," Zhang Guishan; and 3. the Political Security Brigade chief, Han
Fengqiang. Those directly involved included the chief of police station, Yu Yan
and a number of policemen. After she recovered, she returned to appeal in Beijing. She was arrested and
confined at the detention center for one month, then transferred to the Public
Security Detention Center. It was Spring Festival at the time. She was persuaded
to believe the misleading story about the Tiananmen self-immolation from the
television broadcast, thus she signed the guarantee that she would no longer
practice Falun Gong. After she went home, she very quickly realized the truth
and once again began to cultivate. To escape further arrest, she became homeless. While in Daqing City, she was
preparing truth clarification materials and was writing "Falun Dafa Hao" (Falun
Dafa is great) when she was arrested. She was subjected to savage and inhuman
persecution at the Daqing City Public Security Department for three days. To
protest the unlawful treatment, she went on a hunger strike, refusing food and
water. Later, she was sent to the Harbin Detoxification Center but was found to
be physically unfit and was rejected. She was again sent to the Zhaoyuan
Detention Center for further detention. Zhang Guishan and Han Fengqiang
persuaded Yu Yan and several policemen to force-feed her, which caused her
death. Shang Guangshen's Death Due to the Persecution Before Mr. Shang Guangshen practiced Falun Gong, he primarily stayed alive
from drinking wine daily. He practically did not eat any meals. His body was
very weak. When he was examined at the Daqing Hospital, the doctor predicted
that he would die within approximately six months. It appeared as if he
accidentally learned Falun Dafa. Within a few days of studying it he became a
different person. He could eat his meals and his body was quickly restored to
health. His family witnessed the miracle of Dafa and thus they became Dafa
cultivators. After the suppression of Falun Dafa began on July 20, 1999, facing the lies
and rumors that perpetrated all of society, he spoke about how he benefited from
practicing Dafa to expose the lies. He began clarifying the truth and handing
out flyers. He demonstrated the exercises in front of the Grain Trading Building
at Zhaoyuan County, for which he was arrested and confined at the detention
center for a month, then sent to the Daqing City Forced Labor Camp. When the labor camp discovered that prior to practicing Falun Gong he was
very ill, they refused to take him in. He was returned to the County Detention
Center where he continued to be detained for another four months. Subsequently,
Zhang Guishan and Han Fengqiang did some underhanded dealings, and Shang
Guangshen was again sent to the Daqing Forced Labor Camp. He continued to do the
exercises at the forced labor camp. The police understood clearly that without
the exercise he may become ill again, thus they dared not stop him. They were
afraid he might die while in their custody. They again sent him back to the
County Detention Center for another five months of detention. He was forced to
perform physical labor daily, which greatly damaged his body and spirit. Shang
Guansheng became extremely weak and was released. After approximately ten days,
he passed away. The Units involved in this persecution case include the "610
Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with
absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other
political and judiciary systems.] of the County, the County Political
Security Brigade, and the Zhaoyuan County Police Station at City West. Practitioners who were unlawfully sent to the forced labor camp: Details about the Persecution of Hou Baojun (male): Hou Baojun traveled to Beijing after the persecution of Falun Dafa started to
lawfully appeal for Dafa. He was arrested and sent back to a county detention
center, and after a month transferred to the County Public Security Detention
Center. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Policemen Jiang
Yongquan, Di Guojun and Li Zhifeng inhumanly assaulted him and force-fed him.
Later, he was sent to the Daqing Forced Labor Camp where he was mentally and
physically tortured. They tried very hard to "transform" him. The police also
instructed the criminal inmates to assault and abuse him. He is no longer
detained at the forced labor camp. Details about the Persecution of Huang Tairen After July 20, 1999, Huang Tairen traveled to Beijing to lawfully appeal for
Falun Dafa. He was arrested by the police and sent to a county detention center
where he was confined for a month. Later on, he was transferred to the Public
Security Detention Center for another two months. While in the detention center,
Jiang Yongquan, Di Guojun and Li Zhifeng cruelly beat him. He went on a hunger
strike in protest and was force-fed. After he was released on bail, he
distributed truth clarification materials and someone reported him. He was
arrested and sentenced to three years at the Daqing Forced Labor Camp. While detained there, he was forced to attend brainwashing sessions. He was
abused, humiliated, and physically abused. He was forced to strip naked in
winter and lay flat in a pool of water with all the windows in the room open.
They poured previously cooled water on his entire body for many hours at a time.
He fainted many times from the freezing cold. When he regained consciousness,
the torture would continue. When he became sick they put him on intravenous drip. He is still detained at
the forced labor camp. Those directly involved in torturing him are: the head of
the Daqing Forced Labor Camp, Wang Yingzhou and other personnel of the forced
labor camp, including Zhao Jinfa and Li Er. Details about the Persecution of Sui Honghai Before the suppression of Falun Dafa, Sui Honghai was an Assistant in charge
of a practice site. Therefore, after July 20, 1999, he was the first to suffer
from the persecution. Later, because he distributed truth clarification
materials outside the Grain Trading Building, he was arrested and subjected to
torture by the police. He was cruelly assaulted, hung up using one of the many
inhuman torture methods adopted by detention centers. He was confined at a
county detention center for a month, then transferred to the Public Security
Detention Center. After that, he was sent to the Daqing Forced Labor camp for
two years. Under the leadership of the chief of the Second Brigade, Wang Xichun,
and the intermediate leader, Wang Ganghuo, the employees of the forced labor
camp tied him up (a form of torture, by first placing a fine rope around the
neck and twining the rope tightly around each arm from the shoulder to the
wrist, to restrict the flow of blood in the arms. The ends of the rope at the
wrists are then tied together and then tied to the rope that was placed round
the neck. The arms are then forcibly lifted upwards. It causes great pain to the
tortured person. If the tortured person did not have the mouth gagged, the
scream would be horrifying. Those tied up like that can only take this suffering
for a few minutes. If this torture is used for an extended time, both arms are
permanently disabled.) As a result, both his arms were disabled. He is now
unable to earn a living. As the employees of the forced labor camp were afraid
of their crime being exposed, they compensated him with a payment of five
thousand yuan [500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in
China.], and did not reveal to the outside world how the arms became
disabled. Besides this, Sui Honghai was also forced to attend brainwashing
sessions that caused his body and mind to be severely affected. Details about Ren Liangbo's Persecution After Falun Dafa was suppressed, Ren Liangbo went to Beijing to appeal. He
raised a "Falun Dafa Hao" banner and was severely beaten by the police at
Tiananmen Square, then sent to the Shijing Detention Center, Beijing. During
interrogation by the police at the detention center, he was cruelly beaten
several times. As a result, he went on a hunger strike to protest the
persecution and was force-fed saline solution. After seven days, he was returned
to the Xingyuan Police Station, Zhaoyuan County. He was then sent to a county
detention center and after a month he was transferred to the Public Security
Detention Center and unlawfully detained for more than five months. He was
forced to do hard physical labor and was severely beaten at the same time. He
went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. When his family members saw
that he was very weak and feeble, they paid two thousand yuan to have him
released on bail. On returning home, he sent some books to the fellow
practitioners at the detention center. After that was discovered, he was
sentenced to two years at the Daqing Forced Labor Camp. At the camp he was
subjected to all kinds of persecution. His body was covered with wounds. He was
force fed with urine and feces, tied up (form of torture), and in the middle of
winter was taken to the sanitation room with all the windows open and doused
with cold water. This continued for several hours each time until he fainted,
and only then would they stop. Those directly involved in the persecution are,
the leader of the First Brigade, Lai Zhonghui, and forced labor camp employees:
Xing Shuguo and Zhao Junmin. Details about the Persecution of Feng Jinming Because Feng Jinming performed the exercises in front of the Grain Trading
Building in Zhaoyuan County, policemen of the Public Security Department,
Zhaoyuan County publicly assaulted him inhumanly. Later, he was sent to a county
detention center. After a month, he was transferred to the Public Security
Detention Center for another two months. After paying some cash bond, he was
released. After that the police searched his home where they found a copy of
Zhuan Falun. He was sentenced to two years at the Daqing Forced Labor Camp.
At the camp, he was forced to attend brainwashing sessions, and was subjected to
mental and physical abuse. He was tied up, and forced to sit on the iron bench
(forms of torture). In the middle of winter, he was dragged into the sanitation
room with all the windows and doors open and was doused with cold water. This
continued for many hours until he fainted. Those directly involved are, the
leader of the Second Brigade, Wang Xichun and the deputy brigade leader Zhang
Might. The Truth about the Persecution of Ms. Xiao Fengli Xiao Fengli was send to the Zhaoyuan County Detention Center after being
arrested when she went to appeal in Beijing. After one month, she was
transferred to the Public Security Detention Center for another four months. She
went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and did not cooperate with
the authorities. Therefore, she was sent to the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp at
Qiqihaer City, Heilongjiang Province, for one and a half years. She suffered
physical and mental injury. After she served the sentence, she was released. Her
home was again searched. A Dafa book was found and she was sentenced to three
years at the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center where she is suffering mental and
physical torture daily. The Truth about the Persecution of Ms. Liu Yanxie Because Ms. Liu Yanxia performed the exercises in front of the Grain Trading
Building in Zhaoyuan County, she was sent to a county detention center for a
month and then transferred to the Public Security Detention Center for another
four months. Subsequently, she was sentenced without due process to the Harbin
Drug Rehabilitation Center for another two years. She has not been released yet
and continues to be beaten and abused, suffering physical torture and
brainwashing. This has severely damaged her mental and physical health. The Truth about the Persecution of Ms. Wang Yulian Ms. Wang Yulian who practiced the exercises in front of the Grain Trading
Building was arrested and sent to the county detention center for a month. After
that, she was transferred to the Public Security Detention Center for another
four months. Because she handed some truth clarification materials to the
Director of the county "610 Office," she was sentenced to two years at the
Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center. She was persecuted so severely that she has
become mentally unstable and her physical health was severely affected. The Truth about the Persecution of Ms. Feng Jinbo Because Ms. Feng Jinbo practiced the exercises in front of the Grain Trading
Building, she was arrested and sent to a county detention center. Later, she was
transferred to the Public Security Detention Center for three months. There she
was forced to do excessive heavy physical labor. After her release, in order to
escape the persecution, she became homeless. When she wrote "Falun Dafa Hao,"
someone followed and arrested her. She was tortured for three days by the Daqing
Public Security officials. She was hung up by ropes (the tied by rope torture).
Later, she was returned to the Zhaoyuan County Detention Center to continue her
detention. After that, she was unlawfully sent to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation
Center where she is still today. The Truth about the Persecution of Ms. Jiang Yafan The officers of the Zhaoyuan County Brigade and the Liming Police station
searched the home of Jiang Yafan. After they found a copy of Zhuan Falun
and some tape recordings, they arrested her and sent her to the detention
center. The leader of the Political Security Brigade, Han Fengqiang, in taking
credit for someone else's deed, pronounced her guilty of illegal assembly and
sent her to three years detention at the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center. She
is still in custody as of today. After she was abducted, another member of her
family was implicated by association and unlawfully detained for fifteen days. There are more than forty Zhaoyuan County Falun Gong practitioners in
detention. All of them suffered different degrees of harm and injuries. Some
were charged fines, forcibly brainwashed, others were severely beaten, forced to
sit on the cold concrete floor, sit in the hot sun, threatened and intimidated.
We have recounted only a few of the types of persecution they suffered or are
still suffering.
