(Clearwisdom.net) On March 7, the first Latin America Falun Dafa experience sharing conference was held at the First Civic Center in Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires. Practitioners from Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Venezuela, Santo Domingo, Mexico as well as practitioners from Spain, Canada, France, U.S. and Germany attended.
On March 3, revered Master sent a greeting to the conference and encouraged Latin American practitioners to share experiences, learn from each other, cultivate diligently, do well the three things Dafa disciples should do, and walk well on the path of gods. After hearing Master's words, many practitioners burst into tears. Practitioners are thankful for Master's care and encouragement for Latin American disciples.
During the conference, more than 10 practitioners shared their experiences, several coming to tears for being able to attend this precious conference.
At the end of the conference, practitioners took pictures together to send greetings to Master. Practitioner also sang "Falun Dafa Hao" and "Coming For You" together.
On March 8, all practitioners attended a large group study and discussion. Practitioners planned to hold several activities after the conference and will go to Cordoba, the second largest city of Argentina, to introduce Dafa and clarify the truth.
(Clearwisdom.net) As the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Commission is about to convene in Geneva, San Francisco Bay Area Falun Gong practitioners and members of "Friends of Charles Lee" rallied in front of Chinese Consulate in San Francisco on March 11. They urged the U.S. Government to condemn China for its persecution of Falun Gong during the annual meeting of the UN Human Rights Commission and requested the Chinese Government to immediately release U.S. citizen Charles Lee, who has been illegally detained in China for more than a year.

During the rally, Dr. Sherry Zhang, Charles Lee's friend and a researcher at Berkeley National Laboratory, said: "Investigations by international human rights organizations have shown that since Jiang and his followers started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been detained in forced labor camps, prisons and mental hospitals, where they have been subjected to beatings, shocks with electric batons, and injections of dangerous drugs. More than 900 practitioners have been persecuted to death. The human rights of Falun Gong practitioners have been severely violated in China."
When talking about the plight of U.S. citizen Charles Lee, who was illegally arrested and then detained, Sherry Zhang said: While detained in prison, Charles has been beaten, continuously handcuffed for 130 hours, force fed and subjected to brainwashing. Recently, officials from the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai said that Charles had been forced to work gluing shoe soles between last December and this past February. Charles told U.S. officials that the glue smelled terrible and seemed to be toxic. Prolonged exposure to this kind of glue had made him feel very sick. "
Sherry Zhang said that the U.S. has been a model of safeguarding human rights. During the annual meeting of the UN Human Rights Commission, the Bush administration should condemn the Chinese Government's persecution of Falun Gong and request that China immediately release U.S. citizen Charles Lee.
U.S. attorney Dr. James Don also gave a speech at the press conference. He said that he supports human rights, though he is not a Falun Gong practitioner. He therefore is willing to be Charles' voluntary lawyer. He believes that it is improper for the Chinese Government to arrest dissidents, and that he would investigate the alleged abuses of Charles through the International Red Cross. He believes that the U.S. Government should pressure the Chinese Government to release Charles Lee.
Mr. Hui Lu works at the Water Bureau of San Francisco as an Engineer. He said: "According to a report from the International Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong on November 7, 2003, many labor camps have forced detained Falun Gong practitioners to make products with slave labor. For example, 57-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Wan Guifu, who was detained in Lan Zhou First Detention Center was forced to use his mouth and hands to peel a type of melon seeds. Because he didn't finish his assignment, he was beaten to death by inmates who were ordered to do so by detention center leader Lu Jun.
Regarding the recently passed resolution H. Res. 530 which requests the Bush Administration to sponsor and aggressively pursue a resolution condemning China for its Human Rights abuses during the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Commission, a practitioner said the resolution points out that China's human rights record not only didn't improve. but actually got worse during the last year, even though the Bush Administration and the Chinese authorities had signed an agreement to improve human rights. The congress thus requested the Bush Administration to sponsor a resolution condemning China and requesting it to actually improve its human rights record. There are 81 charges against the Chinese Government in the resolution, including its refusal to allow the freedom of speech, belief and assembly, which are widely recognized by the international community, and its continual persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
"During this annual meeting of the UN Human Rights Commission," the practitioner said, "we are calling on the Bush Administration to condemn China for its human rights abuses and requesting that China end the persecution of Falun Gong."
(Clearwisdom.net) On the Eve of the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Commission, the Austrian Falun Dafa Information Center held a press conference in Vienna on March 4.
During the press conference, the Falun Gong Information Center updated people on the Jiang group's latest crimes of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners, as well as the worldwide lawsuits against Jiang and his followers. A practitioner from Sweden talked about the outcome of an international conference called "Genocide in the New Era" held in Stockholm earlier this year. Referring to incident in which Paris police unjustifiably arrested Falun Gong practitioners in late January under pressure from the Chinese Government, this press conference also analyzed the destructive influence that Jiang's group has brought to western society.
The spokesman of the Information Center also answered reporters' questions. The Information Center called upon the media and the communities to publicly expose Jiang's brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, and jointly put an immediate stop to the crimes.

(Clearwisdom.net) At the beginning of spring, practitioners detained at a labor camp in Hebei province held a symbolic trial to bring Jiang Zemin, who started the persecution, the head of "610 Office"(1) and their other followers to justice.
Before the trial started, practitioners respectfully held up Teacher's portrait and expressed their greetings from the heart to their respected Teacher. At the announcement "Open the trial!" all practitioners faced the pictures of the evil perpetrators. The public prosecutor righteously read the charges: "genocide, crimes against humanity, violation of human rights, slaughter of innocent people, libel and slander, false charges against Falun Gong..."
The practitioners who were the plaintiffs read a statement that listed all pertinent facts and eye witness testimonies which were faithful to the truth.
The simulated public trial was opened twice and lasted almost one hour. Finally when the court announced the sentences for Jiang and his followers based on the undeniable facts, practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all evil that persecutes Dafa and practitioners and sentient beings. This trial was a symbol of the principle that good is rewarded with good and evil meets with karmic retribution.

(Clearwisdom.net) Upon learning that more than 40 Falun Gong practitioners in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province have been recently abducted, and three of them have been tortured to death in just a few days, northern California Falun Gong practitioners rallied in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco on March 11. Once again, practitioners strongly demanded an end to the persecution and punishment of the murderers.
San Francesco Bay Area Falun Gong spokeswoman Dr. Sherry Zhang said: "It has been reported that '610 office' agents and policemen in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang province started to illegally abduct Falun Gong practitioners on February 11, 2004. According to an incomplete investigation, more than 40 practitioners have been abducted and 3 practitioners have been tortured to death in just a few days. Among them, Ms. Gu Xiuxiang started a hunger strike to protest after she was abducted on February 28. She was later force-fed and she died on March 4. The other two practitioners' situation is unknown. "
Since Jiang Zemin launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, in the past more than 4 years, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been detained in forced labor camps, prisons and mental hospitals, where they have been subjected to torture. Dr. Zhang said: "Practitioners have been subjected to being beaten, shocked with electric batons, drugged, and much more. To date, more than 900 hundred Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death."
Zhang said that it is appalling that Jiang Zemin and his accomplices continue to disregard the International Human Rights Convention to brutally persecute Falun Gong practitioners in spite of the coming 60th session of the UN Human Rights Commission and the condemnation of the international community. She said: "We call upon all nations around the world to condemn the Chinese Government's persecution of Falun Gong, stop the killing and bring the murderers to justice."

Zhengzhou Dafa practitioner Song Xu, 31, graduated from the Institute of Economics and Trading which is part of Agriculture University located in Henan Province in 1998. Since July 20, 1999, he has gone to Beijing several times to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. In November 2002, Song Xu was again arrested and secretly sentenced to eleven years. Since his arrest, he has been on hunger strike to protest the persecution. As a result he is now extremely weak and is bedridden. The prison refuses to release him.
Song Xu was arrested on February 4, 2001, and sent to the Zhengzhou Baimiao Forced Labor Camp where he was subjected to inhumane torture for remaining steadfast in Falun Gong. On the night of February 9, policemen tied Song's hands and feet to the two ends of a bed and stuck socks in his mouth to silence him. They then flipped the bed over and left him hanging in this position for nine hours. His hands and feet were so swollen that the rope to tie his hands and feet could no longer be seen. The pain he suffered was unbearable but he could not utter a word because his mouth was gagged with socks. The Unit Head waited till the next day before he cut the ropes. Yet the Unit Head savagely shook his feet, which caused him to suffer tremendously. Song was not able to walk as a result of the torture. Yet when he needed to use the bathroom, authorities stripped him naked in sub-zero temperature weather and carried him to an open pit toilet on a cement floor. After he was finished, the labor camp personnel shoved a stick into his rectum, then used a hose to spray his anus with cold water.
In order to protest this unjustified persecution, Song Xu began a hunger strike, during which time the policemen pried open his mouth and forced a concentrated saline solution through his nose. He was on a hunger strike for more than seventy days. In mid June, Song became emaciated and weak. His blood pressure dropped to 70/20. It was not until he was in critical condition that he was released for medical treatment.
On November 10, 2002, Song went to visit a friend who was recovering from a hospital stay. On his way a policemen grabbed him by the hair, twisted his arms and took him to the Zhengzhou police station by force where the policemen deprived him of sleep for three days and nights. As soon as he dozed off they hit him. They put him in handcuffs and shackles and dragged him along the cement floor by the shackles. His palms were lacerated from the abrasion and became infected. During his seven-day stay in the police station, he was beaten almost daily.
On March 7 and 8, 2003, in a small room on the second floor of the Jinshui District Court House, without notifying his family, without the public witnessing the proceedings, and with the presence of a few policemen, Song was secretly sentenced to eleven years in prison. Afterwards, Wang, an instructor from the Wenhua Road police station, told Song's family, "Don't appeal Song's case. It's useless to tell anybody. Song Xu's case will not be overturned."
We were told that since his arrest on November 10, 2002, Song has been on a hunger strike. He has become extremely emaciated and has become as thin as a stick. He stays in bed all day long. After being on a hunger strike for fifty days, he showed symptoms of acidosis and was sent to a hospital for emergency care where he was guarded by numerous military policemen. He was denied visitation rights from anyone. Several of his friends were arrested and detained in detention center for trying to locate him.
A while ago Song was detained in a prison in Xinmi County. He cannot take care of himself and his life is in danger. His family has made requests many times to let him out on bail for medical treatment but the prison refused their requests.
(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Tang Jianping was a 29 year old Falun Gong practitioner from Weiyuan County, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province. He had been detained in the Weiyuan Detention Center several times for his determination in practicing Falun Gong. The police tortured him by various means, causing him to become unconscious from the beating and torture. He was deprived of sleep for ten days and nights. Later, Tang Jianping was transferred to a labor camp. During that period of time, his internal injuries became worse. He experienced swelling of the chest and abdomen, difficulty ingesting food and water, vomiting blood, and blood in his urine. He was released in early 2002, and his health became worse and worse. Tang Jianping was a Team Ten resident of the Fifth Street Region of Yanling Town, Weiyuan County, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province. He was kind and modest. After he began practicing Falun Gong, he lived his life according to the standard of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance." His neighbors all praised him for being a good young man. He used to work for the Kangda Company in Weiyuan County, where he worked hard without resentment or complaint, taking on difficult jobs first and thinking about others at all times. Therefore, he was highly thought of by his fellow coworkers. Tang Jianping was married in 1997, and had a son in 1998, named Tang Zihang. The whole family was very happy and peaceful.
In October 1999, Tang Jianping went to appeal in Beijing according to the citizen's rights guaranteed by the Chinese constitution and spoke favorably of Falun Gong based upon his personal experience. As a result, he was illegally detained in Beijing and was then taken to the Weiyuan Detention Center where he was persecuted for not renouncing his belief in Falun Gong.
On July 20, 2000, Jianping and other fellow practitioners went to Beijing the second time and were beaten by police in Tiananmen Square. He was later sent to the Weiyuan Detention Center, where he was subjected to inhuman torture. Under the direction of police, the regular prisoners used every means possible to torture him. They would beat him unconscious, and then revive him with cold water. One time he remained unconscious for the whole day. His entire body was covered with wounds, and his nose bled from being severely injured. After his release, he began to vomit blood frequently. His workplace was forced to dismiss him. At that time, his wife lost her job as well. This threw the family into poverty. Tang Jianping then had to do hard labor in order to make a living.
On October 1, 2000, Falun Gong practitioners hung up banners such as "Falun Dafa is good!" everywhere in Weiyuan County in order to resist the persecution and protect the people from being deceived by lies. The county "610 office" and the public security office mass arrested Falun Gong practitioners, including Tang Jianping, who was illegally arrested again. This time, he suffered severely in both body and mind in the detention center.
The police interrogated him over 90 times using coercion and threats. The police even thought it was a first to treat a detained person this way. Instigated by the police, the prisoners tortured Tang Jianping for a long time. The police were still not satisfied, so they whipped him with bamboo sticks [Note: the flexible bamboo makes a brutal weapon, causing extreme pain and damage to the skin]. They used many inhuman ways to torture him, such as using shackles, handcuffs, etc. Tang Jianping never gave in to the evil. He insisted on his constitutional right to his belief, that "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" is good, and no one should be found guilty for being a good person and speaking the truth.
Tang Jianpiing was brutally tortured and degraded using the following means:
In 2001, the family had no income and couldn't sustain itself due to Tang Jianping's long-term detention. Tang's wife became very scared and worried. In this situation, she couldn't endure such pressure and she divorced Tang Jianping. That left only a two-year-old son and an elderly grandparent in the family. A once happy family was broken up because of this persecution ordered by Jiang Zemin (former leader of China, but currently directing the persecution behind the scenes). At that time, Tang Jianping's health had deteriorated to the extreme, but instead of releasing him, the police put him in the Xinhua Labor Camp, Mianyang City, for one-and-a-half years to face further persecution until he could be forced to renounce his belief in Falun Gong. During that period of time, his internal injuries became worse. He experienced swelling of the chest and abdomen, difficulty ingesting food and water, vomiting blood, and bloody urination. The labor camp didn't allow the Weiyuan Public Security bureau to notify Tang's mother until then. His mother took him home on January 8, 2002, on the Chinese lunar calendar. His parents borrowed money in vain to heal his injures. His health became worse and worse, until on August 28, 2002, Tang Jianping died alone at home due to a large amount of bleeding. The false charges against him were never cleared.

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 24, 2004, Minghui [the Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net] reported that Dabei Prison Administration Bureau in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province recently sent out a document with an order to completely recall all of the Falun Gong practitioners who are on so-called "medical parole." Family members who refuse to cooperate will be sent to prison for committing the crime of "aiding a criminal." This is more evidence of the crimes being committed in the internationally notorious prison run by Jiang's followers.
Extorting a large sum of money under the pretense of granting "medical parole"
"Medical parole" from Dabei Prison Administration Bureau is, in fact, the excuse that the prison has used to extort money from Falun Gong practitioners' family members when the detained practitioners, during the persecution, lost significant body weight and were on the verge of death. To save the practitioners' lives, some of their family members had no choice but to pay a high price to pass through layer upon layer of bureaucracy, spending more than 100,000 Yuan, and in some severe cases, several hundred thousand yuan. Because of this, some families have used up all their financial resources. Even so, Dabei Prison still made the practitioners' family members sign their names as "guarantors." Family members were threatened that if they did not cooperate, they would recall the Falun Gong practitioners and send the family members to prison.
For the Falun Gong practitioners whose family members refused to pay the high prices, the prison would withhold the "medical parole." These practitioners were detained in the so-called "hospital" inside the prison. So it was preferable to the prison administration to let the Falun Gong practitioners die inside the prison rather than release a single one. Facing such barbarous extortion and persecution, the practitioners' family members, who were eager to save the practitioners' lives, wanted to ensure their safety and did not want their loved ones to suffer inside the prison, so they silently endured the persecution.
Using "hiding a criminal" to threaten the family members to further the persecution
Now Dabei Prison has started to force the practitioners' family members to send the practitioners back to the prison. The prison used the excuse of needing to perform a "physical examination" to put the practitioners back in the prison. Family members were told they would be "punished according to law;" that is, they will be put into prison for committing the crime of "aiding criminals," if they didn't comply.
Using a large amount of money to build a persecution base
While following Jiang's group of criminals in persecuting Falun Gong, Liaoning Province, where Dabei Prison is located, is not only notoriously known for its brutal tortures and vicious treatment, it also leads the country in deceiving the public and showing off its achievements. Liaoning has spent a huge amount of money persecuting Falun Gong.
International human rights organizations have confirmed that by November 16, 2003, as many as 92 Falun Gong practitioners in Liaoning Province were killed during the persecution. Liaoning Province ranked No. 4 in the country in this category.
A high-ranking official from the Liaoning Province Department of Justice said during a Masanjia Forced Labor Camp ceremony releasing inmates who had finished their terms: "The financial cost for dealing with Falun Gong has already exceeded the cost of a war." The Second Female Institution director Su Jing in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp was rewarded 50,000 Yuan for her "achievements" in persecuting Falun Gong. Just at the end of 2001, Longshan Forced Labor Camp received a reward of 400,000 Yuan for its "achievements" in persecuting Falun Gong, and Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp received 500,000 Yuan. These numbers just scratch the surface.
The Chinese government propaganda stated that Liaoning Province invested 1 billion yuan in restructuring the prisons in the province. In just one location, that is, Masanjia of Yuhong District in Shenyang City, over 500 million Yuan was invested. So in 2003, in Masanjia, the first prison city in China was built, which occupies 2,000 mu [329 acres]. Dabei Prison and Dabei Female Prison will be moved there. The Chinese government propaganda also claimed that over 10,000 inmates were detained in this modern prison city. This prison city is equipped with its own supermarket, bank, and other facilities. Part of the city is open to the public. The new prisons do not have the iron-barred gates in the hallways, and are used to show off the Chinese government's humanitarian concerns and lead foreign countries to believe the human right status in Chinese prisons is good.
The huge investment of 1 billion Yuan has caught the attention of the public. For Liaoning Province, where the total market value of the economic activities only ranks seventh in China, and a huge number of workers have become unemployed, how significant is this investment to the people's lives? The government propaganda said that this investment reflects the government's humanitarian concerns, and that opening certain parts of the prison city to the public will help foreign countries understand Chinese humanism and the human rights status of Chinese prisons. Is this true?
The organization "Reporters without Borders," headquartered in Paris, issued a statement on February 20, 2004, denouncing Chongqing City for giving five- to 14-year prison sentences to five Falun Gong practitioners who had published on the Internet the news that a graduate student, who is also a Falun Gong practitioner, was raped in a prison. The organization stated, "These five practitioners were sentenced for sending the information to the Internet, and human rights organizations already know that Falun Gong practitioners are being systematically tortured in prisons."
Using a false image to cover their crime
In fact, since the persecution of Falun Gong started, Jiang's followers have been trying their best to hide the truth of the persecution, and present a false image to deceive people.
In October 2000, Masanjia Forced Labor Camp stripped 18 female Falun Gong practitioners and threw them into male prison cells. After the vicious case was exposed internationally, they invited foreign reporters, and presented a scene that showed Masanjia had no male prisoners. The lie was later exposed by the investigation of international journalists.
In the United Nation's 2002 human rights report, there are quite a few cases of Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death, several hundred cases of violence to female Falun Gong practitioners, and over 400 cases of torture. A special human-rights representative in charge of torture cases in the United Nations requested to do fact finding, but the Chinese government responded that he could only visit a few specified jails. The representative rejected the restriction.
Behind the propaganda of "displaying humanitarian care" is the persecution of brutal brainwashing. No. 2 Jail in Prison City colluded with the court and procurator's office in Shenyang, allowing the prison to have over 20 "normal" death cases. The policemen aggressively torture the practitioners who refuse to give up their belief.
According to a report on Clearwisdom.net on December 27, 2003, Falun Gong practitioner Wu Yuan, a mathematics teacher in Beilu Township Middle School in Lingyuan City, was killed in the No. 2 Jail in Dabei Prison City in Shenyang on December 10. Wu Yuan's wife saw his body in the funeral home. His body was emaciated, his chest was still warm, his entire lower abdomen was covered with bruises, his back was covered with pink spots, and his nose and ears were stuffed with cotton balls.
A recent document from Dabei Jail Administration Bureau showed that not only the escalated persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the jails, but also extension of the persecution to those practitioners who were released because they were about to die in the jail.
During World War II, the German Nazis hid their persecution of the Jews from the international community. After World War II, when evidence of the persecution's detailed principles, implementation and responsible people were exposed, the propaganda of covering up the crime became evidence too, and is still displayed in museums in New York and Washington D.C.
International investigation and lawsuits
On December 18, 2003, based on their thorough investigation, the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong announced an investigation of nine officials in Liaoning Province who participated in the persecution of Falun Gong. The nine officials included the party chairman of the province, Wen Shizhen; province governor Bo Xilai; deputy party chairman of the province, Zhang Xingxiang; director of the commission for inspecting discipline, Wang Weizhong; director of the department of policy and law, Ding Shifa; director of the province public security bureau, Li Feng; and the province 610 Office's director, Song Shanyun; deputy director, Zhang Changshun; and Li Wei. The announcement listed the articles in the mainland Chinese media, and related internal speeches, which proved that the people being investigated had participated and organized the persecution against the local Falun Gong practitioners. Announcements were immediately sent to governments and public security departments in the related areas.
Jiang Zemin has been sued in many countries for the crimes of torture, crimes against humanity and more. Xia Deren followed and executed the persecution of Falun Gong when he was the deputy province governor in Shenyang. He was sued when he visited the United States for monitoring the torture of Falun Gong practitioners with the former Beijing mayor and current Party chairman in Beijing, Liu Qi. The U.S. court found them guilty.
According to a report on February 11, 2004, on Clearwisdom, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police filed a list of 45 people to be monitored, including Jiang Zemin, Li Lanqing, Luo Gan, Wang Maolin, Liu Jing, and other Chinese Communist Party officials, "610 Office" directors, government officials and criminals in the labor camps. Bo Xilai, Wen Shizhen, and Sujing from the Masanjia Labor Camp are also included. If these people try to enter Canada, they will be investigated immediately, which may result in their being rejected for an entrance visa, being prevented from entering the country, and being sued in Canada for their crimes against humanity.
(Clearwisdom.net) In the beginning of February 2004, most public roads were covered by heavy snow in many villages of Qingshan County, Yushu City, Jilin Province, and travel by vehicle was treacherous. In order to bring convenience to everyone, Falun Gong practitioners in Nianyu Village, Qingshan County overcame the cold weather and shoveled the snow from public roads. The longest road they cleaned up was around three miles. The traffic was brought back to normal.
Pedestrians and drivers gave their regards to Falun Gong practitioners when they passed by. Falun Gong practitioners put up a sign "Falun Dafa is good!" in the snow and told people, "The reason we do this is because we practice Falun Gong."
On February 20th, the fourth day of snow shoveling, many people participated in removing the snow, including an old lady in her eighties and young children. At that time, a vehicle from Qingshan Police Station was trapped in the snow and could not move. Falun Gong practitioners helped to dig out and salvage the vehicle. One hour later, three vehicles from Yushu City 110 Police, which was 40 miles away, and Qingshan Police Station arrived. Many policemen came and arrested at least 16 Falun Gong practitioners, including Ms. Liu who was over eighty years old. They were forced into the police vehicles and put in Yushu City Detention Center. Afterwards, their homes were searched. The reason was that they were Falun Gong practitioners and they did good deeds in public; therefore their homes were searched and they were arrested.
The same night, the No. 6 Division of the Changchun City Police Department surrounded the biggest bathing center of Yushu City to arrest sinister, underground gang gamblers, and the head members were taken to Changchun City. Afterwards, the Chief of Yushu City Police Department, Fan Hongguang, immediately went to Changchun to plead for the gamblers' acquittal.
People from Yushu City talked about these two incidents that happened on the same day. Local residents all said, "People are arrested for their good deeds while policeman plead for mercy for gangsters. What law is this?"

(Clearwisdom.net) Agents from the "610 Office"(1) of Juxian County, Shandong Province ransacked the homes of more than 60 Falun Dafa practitioners from Juxian, Wulian and Yinan. They confiscated practitioners' property, imposed fines, beat and cursed them, as well as sentenced them to forced labor or imprisonment. This brought a great amount of pain and hardship to the practitioners and their families. The "610 Office" illegally detained, interrogated and beat up practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They also forced the practitioners to write "guarantee statements" renouncing Falun Gong, watch video programs that slander Falun Gong, and restrict the freedom of those practitioners. More than 50 practitioners have been illegally detained by the "610 Office" of Juxian county.
In 2000, practitioners Ms. Duan Hongli, Ms. Zhang Guihua, Ms Cui Naiying, and Ms. Liu Wei from Juxian County Fertilizer Factory were detained for more than a month; their homes were searched, their property was confiscated and they were fined for going to Beijing to peacefully appeal. Ms. Duan Hongli, Zhang Guihua, and Cui Naiying were again detained for over a month after their second trip to Beijing to appeal. After they were released and went back to work, the "610 Office" ordered their work unit to keep close surveillance over them and restrict their personal freedom. Later, Duan Hongli and Zhang Guihua escaped the surveillance and went to Beijing to appeal for the third time. At the Rizhao Train Station, Zhang Guihua was stopped by her husband. Duan Hongli was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jinan where she was forced to attend brainwashing sessions. She was later released on bail for medical treatment before her term expired.
In June 2001, when four practitioners from neighbouring counties sent truth-clarification materials to people in Juxian County, they were arrested by the Juxian "610 Office."
On June 20, 2001, practitioners Xu Yanlei, Wei Daisheng, and Sun Changmin were reported while handing out Falun Dafa materials. They were arrested and fined, and their homes searched. These practitioners were later locked up at the Juxian County Detention Center for over a month.
In 2001, practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiqin and Lao Qiao, employees of the Liuguan Village Grain Store, were arrested for handing out truth-clarification materials. Lao Qiao was sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City and forced to undergo brainwashing for one month. A female employee of the Chengyang Construction Company in Juxian County, Xiao Ze, was reported to authorities while handing out truth-clarification materials at the Chengnanguan country fair, Juxian County. She was then taken away and detained. One practitioner from Yinan was arrested by Juxian County "610 Office" personnel while handing out truth-clarification materials at the Gongposhan country fair, Liuguanzhuang Township, Juxian County. Two practitioners from Xiaodian Township, Juxian County, were also arrested by the Juxian County "610 Office" while handing out truth-clarification materials.
In 2003, practitioner Ms. Lao Yan, 70 years old, a resident of Nanguan Street, Chengyang Township, was arrested and detained for one month by the Juxian County "610 Office" for delivering truth-clarification materials. Her home was also searched and her property was confiscated.
On November 25, 2003, practitioner Ms. Shi Weihua from Chengshi Credit Cooperative in Juxian County was arrested by the Juxian County "610 Office" for handing out truth-clarification materials. She was later sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo city where she was forced to undergo brainwashing for one month.
Since July 20, 1999, the telephones of many practitioners have been tapped and they have been under surveillance at their work units all the time. On festivals and holidays, the officials of the "610 Office" would come to their doors and harass them. This has disrupted their normal family lives and brought endless pain to their families.

Chinatown in Montreal, Canada, was livened up very much this week as more than 200 Falun Gong practitioners came from all over Canada appropriately dressed to bring some warmth to this chilly city. In the morning or at noon, they practiced their exercises in front of the Cathedral and City Hall located to the east and west of the Superior Court. They also passed out flyers wearing smiles in bustling intersections. Most of them came from Toronto. Some took a special trip to fly here from the east coast. More than 30 practitioners drove overnight from the USA to lend their support.
This was the third day of the final closing statements of the Falun Gong practitioners' lawsuit against Les Presses Chi noises. The lawyer for the accused presented his closing statement. It lasted the whole day and it was thought that he would continue the following day. Let's hear how people look upon the argument presented by the lawyer of Les Presses Chi noises and others sitting here in the biggest courtroom of the Superior Court in Montreal.
The lawyer for the accused proposed that there should not be any limits on freedom of speech; that any belief and individual can be attacked. Should there be no basic ethical standards regarding freedom of speech?
Ms. Liu from Toronto worked very hard to understand it and she said: "I am surprised by what the lawyer for the accused said today. I always thought lawyers should have a noble character and speak out from a sense of justice for the weak. He should be thorough, practical and realistic. What he said today shocked me. If every one attacked one another as they pleased, would this society have right and wrong, good and evil? It would be terrible."
Ms. Liu is not a plaintiff. She came just because she is concerned about and supports this case.
"Any freedom has its limits. Otherwise, it would do harm to people's basic human rights." said a woman from Ottawa.
Mr. Grey, lawyer for the accused, said: "When all the witnesses read He Bin's article attacking Falun Gong published in Les Presses Chi noises, they felt cold all over and became full of fear. They trembled and felt they were back in China. At that time, they could not think normally ...... which makes people suspect the reliability of their testimony."
A man from Toronto said: "He [the lawyer for the accused] lives in a beautiful house in Canada. He cannot understand the persecution Falun Gong practitioners suffer and what they feel. If he took a book of Falun Gong and went to China to shout "Falun Dafa is good," after he was arrested by the police and beaten up, he'd understand."
The lawyer for the accused claimed that most of the people who came to the court and testified were "hard to believe." For example, it was impossible that Professor Zhang really created by himself many sculptures that include both Eastern and Western artistic styles. He said that with so many plaintiffs testifying in court last November for three weeks and with more than 200 people attending the closing statements at that time, it was strange that so many people did not go to work for all that time. The inference was that they must have been paid in some way. However, Falun Gong practitioners insist that they do everything with their own money. Falun Gong is not an organization and also does not accept money. Because they said this, he claimed more than 200 plaintiffs who sat in the courtroom were lying.
One woman who listened to the closing statements said: "Next time, we should prepare some materials and ask Professor Zhang to make a sculpture in public and show it to the lawyer for the accused. We will see what he would have to say then"
A Falun Gong practitioner from Boston drove for 6 hours to get there and said, "I feel very sad. Last November, I also attended the court interrogation. This case affects every kind and righteous person's heart. So, I asked for leave from work and came here. No one pays us. We stay in other practitioners' homes, eat instant noodles, and sleep in sleeping bags. We just want more people to remember Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance".
A lady who is studying in a college in Ottawa analyzed these statements and said: "Lawyers have guidelines of professional ethics. The lawyer for the accused discounted all of our testimony without any factual basis and also used absolute words. I feel he was unreasonable."
When asked for their opinion on this case, several persons expressed the same thought: the damage caused by Les Presses Chi noises' slandering Falun Gong practitioners cannot be weighed with money. We want justice and we want to let the people know the truth about Falun Gong.
(Clearwisdom.net) Jealousy is a very serious issue that Teacher has talked about in the Fa. Every time I read Zhuan Falun, I read this section very carefully. But it was a recent event that made me truly come to understand the extreme danger and harmfulness of jealousy.
I was unwillingly to be outdone ever since I was a child and I have had smooth sailing in my career. After I started to cultivate in Dafa, I became an assistant and took responsibility for certain projects; I always thought of myself as capable. I turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to my own mentality of jealousy. One day, I noticed that I could always find other peoples' mistakes, but I looked to myself as perfect as a flower. I looked for flaws in others, enjoyed being the center of attention and liked to draw conclusions about others. I clung to my own notions while doing projects together with fellow practitioners and emphasized self. I was narrow-minded and could not tolerate others; I liked to talk about others, to comment on and to judge others subjectively. I felt upset if others did better than I did. When I felt that my self-interest was hurt, even though I knew that I should look inside for the attachment and remove it, I still felt uneasy and could not let go of my own attachments. I only wanted to change others while not changing myself. I felt that I was really trapped in a sea of jealousy.
Our ancestors had a saying about jealousy: "Doubting when hearing about other people's good deeds; believing without a doubt upon hearing of others' bad deeds; feeling miserable as though having lost something personally upon seeing others gain; feeling at ease as though having gained something while seeing others lose." This saying portrays jealousy most vividly. The saying also reveals that the core of jealousy is self-centeredness and selfishness. Jealousy is to protect one's fame, benefit, status, and ideology with the center being selfishness and with the radius being self-interest.
Not feeling happy for others when they have achieved gain, but feeling upset instead; not feeling sympathetic for others nor willing to help when they are suffering, but feeling at ease instead--this kind of person, on one hand, likes to hear compliments and likes to flatter others; as a consequence, he breeds the mentality of zealotry and showing off, regarding himself as infallible, clinging to his own opinions, feeling extremely conceited, and persisting in his own way while ignoring others' comments. On the other hand, he does not like to hear harsh words and different opinions, and dislikes honest people who speak frankly. In this way, he breeds the mentality of suspicion and competitiveness, and he may even frame cases against others who are better, and attack them. We can clearly understand this from Master's teaching:
"'I've practiced for over twenty years without developing any supernormal abilities, and he has developed them. What sort of supernormal abilities has he got?' This person will be infuriated: 'He's got spirit or animal possession and is experiencing cultivation insanity!'" (Zhuan Falun)
Since he has not developed supernormal abilities after over 20 years of practice, he is then suspicious about other people's supernormal abilities. He feels uneasy and further denies and slanders them; he badmouths others as being possessed by animals and experiencing cultivation insanity.
"With this Unlocking of Gong, enlightenment, or semi-enlightenment, his supernatural capabilities will all emerge. The monks in the temple will all come to ask him questions, and everyone will respect him. But the abbot will be unable to put up with it: 'How can I still be the abbot? What enlightenment? He is experiencing cultivation insanity. Get him out of here.' The temple thus expels the junior monk." (Zhuan Falun)
His own selfishness deep down was offended, and he felt that his position as an abbot was threatened. He then slandered others as being possessed by animals. He even used his power to attack and retaliate, and to expel others from the temple. Monk Jigong had powerful supernormal abilities, yet he was still expelled from Lingyin Temple. This shows the harmfulness of jealousy.
The mentality of jealousy does great harm to both oneself and others, and a person in a powerful position will cause even more damage.
Master mentioned in the Fa:
"In the book Investiture of the Gods, Shen Gongbao found Jiang Ziya to be both old and incompetent. But the Primitive God of Heaven asked Jiang Ziya to confer titles on immortals. Shen Gongbao felt in his heart that it was unfair: 'Why is he asked to confer titles on immortals? You see how capable I am. After my head is cut off, I can put it back on my shoulders. Why wasn't I asked to confer titles on immortals?' He was so jealous that he always caused troubles for Jiang Ziya." (Zhuan Falun)
Shen Gongbao felt that he was more competent than Jiang Ziya, so he should be asked to confer titles on immortals. Since it didn't happen his way, he made trouble and caused damage. It looked as though he was causing trouble to Jiang Ziya, but he was actually showing dissatisfaction and disrespect towards the Primitive God of Heaven who arranged all that, and caused great trouble and damage to the grand task of conferring titles to the immortals. This showed how big of a damage jealousy can cause.
The jealousy of an ordinary person can cause such significant harm. If the person has a strong desire for power and for monopolizing power, his jealousy will not only cause the country to lose wealth, it will also cause many kind and righteous people to be tortured and killed. More significantly his jealousy will destroy the morality of the whole nation and it will bring to the nation sins that can never be paid off. Today, Jiang Zemin, due to his jealousy against the founder of Falun Dafa, is leading the persecution against Dafa practitioners. Isn't he committing such a huge crime in history?
As Dafa practitioners, we must discard the mentality of jealousy; otherwise we will not only be burdened with this attachment, we will also be trapped in haggling over personal likes and dislikes and be impeded in our task of saving sentient beings.

"Study the Fa and obtain the Fa,
Learning and cultivating under guidance,
Referring to the Fa in doing everything,
Compliance is cultivation."

It is so true--studying the Fa, clarifying the truth and sending forth righteous thoughts well are the foundations of righteous thoughts and righteous actions, and what Fa-Rectification period Dafa disciples" must do and must do well.
When we did not study the Fa well, our Fa rectification related work slowed down or stopped, and our attachments of being afraid increased. When we did not study the Fa well, we could not effectively clarify the truth to ordinary people, and missed lots of opportunities to save them. When we did not study the Fa well, the righteous thoughts we sent out were not pure, and thus were interfered with by the evil.
Some fellow practitioners forced themselves to study the Fa, yet all kinds of interruptions kept coming. Some could not study the Fa well because of being busy with Dafa work, or other reasons.
When I ran into these situations, in addition to studying the Fa more diligently by myself, I truly wished that I could study the Fa in a group with fellow practitioners.
These were my experiences when I could not study the Fa well. I hereby suggest fellow practitioners study the Fa in groups, even if it's only a group of two or three.
It is an indication of evil interference if we are not able to study the Fa in groups. We cannot help fellow practitioners who fall behind if we do not study the Fa together. Fellow practitioners not improving means we have not studied the Fa well, and thus could not do Dafa work well. We cannot improve as one body if we do not study the Fa together. Let's all study the Fa together with our fellow practitioners.

6. Establishing a correct basis and breaking out of the evil den again
I wrote down my experiences to encourage other practitioners. But because of a mass arrest effort by local police, I was arrested again on April 25, 2002, before I had a chance to send this article out. The article had fallen into the hands of the evil.
Several police officers ransacked my home the same day of my arrest, doing so without producing any proper legal documents. They found a book of Master's articles and my forced labor sentence papers from Beijing. They took me to the police station. A chief policeman said that, "he would settle with me." Another policeman wanted me to sign a new arrest paper. I refused. He beat me up and sent me to the criminal police division where he locked me in a metal chair for several hours. Later he locked my arms behind my back to a metal bunk bed, and forced me to stand on the floor with legs wide apart. He had someone shake my arms from time to time to cause me pain. He asked me with whom I had contact. I didn't tell him! Then he sent me to a detention center for illegal detention.
Because of the mass arrest, two to three hundred Dafa practitioners had already been detained there. More than a dozen Dafa practitioners were detained with me directly. That night, I decided to carry on a hunger strike to resist the illegal detention. Many practitioners tried to stop me and said, "It's very dangerous this time; you won't succeed in getting out, even if you carry on a hunger strike. We know two practitioners who carried on a hunger strike. They did not get out! Even worse, their terms were prolonged. Wait. We'll all be released after this period is over." I told them, "Master said,
"No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil's demands, orders, or what it instigates. If everyone does this the environment won't be this way."

The next morning, though the others wore prison' uniforms, I refused to wear one since I was not a criminal. A policeman with the last name Yuan severely beat me, completely without cause. It was said that he often severely beat Dafa practitioners.
On the fourth day, the detention center police all became aware that I was on a hunger strike. They dragged me to the clinic, and ordered two criminals who had been charged with murder and several other criminals to grab my hair, twist my arms behind my back and immobilize my legs, so that I could not movet. A prison doctor with the last name Zhang pinched my nose shut and forced my mouth open with a metal prying instrument, and inserted a used rubber tube into my mouth. He pulled the tube in and out and twisted it in my mouth. I could not spit out or swallow, and felt extreme pain. Force feeding is actually used by the authorities as a means of extreme torture. I knew some practitioners stopped their hunger strike because they could not bear it. In my mind I asked Master to help strengthen my abilities so they could not feed me, but the wicked people would not stop. I thought I would hold on, regardless of what happened. After my mind calmed down, I didn't feel much pain despite their torture. They used a funnel to feed me a small basin containing a mixture of highly concentrated salt with a little water. I had the thought that no one can force anything on me I don't want to have done to me. After going back to the cell, I spit out all the salt solution. My mouth felt very bitter and dry. They all thought that I would be very thirsty, so they came trying to make sport at my suffering. I just kept in mind that the concentrated salt water in this dimension would not have any effect on my body, which is made of high-energy matter, so I would not be thirsty. That night in my dream Master gave me a bottle of pure water that was clear, cool and sweet. I knew Master had resolved it all.
The next day when they dragged me to the force-feeding, they were not as harsh as the day before. They started to say, "There is a child in your home who needs care. Since you did not distribute the VCDs, you should be released in a couple of days." At first I thought, yes, I didn't distribute VCDs so my case is not as severe. I may be released. Immediately, however, I realized my thought was not right, as distributing VCDs is to clarify the facts and there is nothing wrong with that. I should not have taken the personal standpoint to go on a hunger strike; instead, I should hold the standpoint of being responsible to Dafa. The evildoers should not be able to jail Dafa practitioners! This is an insult to Dafa. I must break through the old forces' arrangements and leave this place by means of hunger strike, and firmly uphold the dignity of Dafa.
Seeing that they could not persuade me, they forced the concentrated saline solution into my stomache and dragged me back to the cell. They stretched my hands and legs straight out and locked me to circular metal shackles on the floor. I was then locked in this way 24 hours a day. This time I spit up all the saline solution again. One prison doctor was particularly enthusiastic when it came to force-feeding me. He came in and out to observe whether I could endure it or not, and even threatened to put me in the "big hang up." (1)
After another two days of concentrated saline solution feeding, and seeing that I spit up all of it, they thought that my stomach had failed to absorb it and I was about to die. I had by then been on a hunger strike for eight days. On the one hand they intensified the persecution (threatening to extend my term for another year), on the other hand they had one of the detention center supervisors persuade me to take food, so that they could let the labor camp to take me in. This person brought in some snacks. To demonstrate that he was nice, he unlocked my hands and legs from shackles. This did not convince me and I said nothing. I remembered Master had said,
"The steadfast, righteous thoughts of a cultivator transcend all human understandings, transcend all human thinking, and can never be understood by everyday people. At the same time, they cannot be changed by everyday people, because humans are not able to change Enlightened Beings." ("Coercion Cannot Change People's Hearts").
The detention center police carried me to the forced labor camp, together with other practitioners. Seeing my circumstances, people at the labor camp dared not to take me, so I was returned to the detention center. Those in the detention center feared that I would die, so they put me under surveillance 24 hours a day and meanwhile contacted my family to take me out. Even so, they extorted 500 Yuan from my family without my knowledge (the police get a 500 Yuan reward for catching one single practitioner).
In this way I broke out from the devil's den after 17 days of a hunger strike.
From the two hunger strikes I realized:
As Dafa disciples, when eradicating the evil, our standpoint must be correct and always from the basis of being responsible to Dafa. If we firmly believe in Master and Dafa, we will be able to get through any tribulations! On the other hand, any bit of human attachment can be very dangerous.
Going on a hunger strike is only one way of eradicating the evil. Truth clarification is the top priority, learned as I joined cultivation after listening to practitioners' truth clarification.
The above is my personal persecution experience. I appeal to all kind-hearted people in the world: please help stop and expose the evildoers and bring human rights scoundrel Jiang Zemin and his accomplices to the "courts of law and justice." I appeal to anyone to assist in restoring a fair and peaceful living environment for human beings [in China] and restore the reputation of my revered Master, that of Dafa and Dafa practitioners, and stop the persecution to all mankind.

"Big Hang Up"-- There are two forms in this torture: With both hands cuffed behind the back and only toes touching the ground, one is hung by a rope that is tied to the metal window frames; or; one hand of a practitioner is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed, and the two beds are pulled in the opposite directions. One feels extremely painful as the body is pulled.
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a freshman in high school. My mother has practiced Falun Gong for more than 5 years. She has very good health now. Compared to how she was before she started practicing, she is a totally different person.
Before practicing Falun Gong, my mother was weak and suffered from many illnesses. Her entire body was in pain, and she was depressed all day long. Because of her medical expenses, my family fell into hard times. My father was often in a bad mood, so he often fought with my mother, which gave her more stress and did not help her severe illnesses. There are many children in my family, and my mother does all of the housework. Without a healthy body, she suffered when doing anything. Since she was so ill, every day was a bad day. She was always busy doing housework, and constantly boiling strong smelling Chinese medicinal herb teas.
Just when my mother felt life was hopeless, someone introduced her to Falun Gong. My mother started practicing from that day on. She gradually got well. Miraculous changes happened to her entire body, astonishing everyone who knew her. Many people who suffered from illnesses came to my mother asking for her secret. My mother then introduced Falun Gong to them. My mother has not taken any medicine for more than five years. She feels happy in doing everything. Our entire family is in good spirits and in harmony. We are really very happy. However, since July 1999, the lies fabricated on TV about Falun Gong flew across the airwaves. We do not believe those lies at all because they are totally different from our experience.
In order to let people know the truth about Falun Gong, many Falun Gong practitioners started to pass out truth-clarifying materials. After I saw the materials, I was deeply touched. So, one day, I put a collection of truth-clarifying material into a teacher's box. The next day, the teacher handed the materials to the schoolmaster. The schoolmaster was very angry and spread the word throughout the entire school that he would use all means to catch the "murderer" who put the materials in the teacher's box and find out who was practicing Falun Gong. Later, someone reported me to the schoolmaster. The schoolmaster called me into his office and used harsh and threatening words to try and force me to admit what I had done. Although I was not afraid, I refused to admit it to him. A teacher hated Dafa because he was blinded by lies. He tore up the materials and reviled Dafa with a scornful look and angry words. I felt very sad. Just after this incident happened, I heard that the teacher died in a car accident and he died with a very ugly and tragic look on his face. I was shocked. Is that what people mean when they say evil will be met with evil? I believe it must be.
The above is my personal experience. Herein, I sincerely call on the virtuous people come to know the truth about Falun Gong and let their own consciences make a clear-headed and rational choice about this persecution.

Sharing the Song "Coming for You" with My Family
The chance for a family reunion is indeed rare for us. This year's Chinese New Year's Festival provided my family with such an opportunity. This gave me a great chance to clarify the truth to all of them. There are a total of four generations, with between 30 to 40 family members. We also invited 2 guests, who are doctors in charge at the hospital in my hometown. After everyone had taken a seat and was ready to eat, I said: "Today as it is my brother's birthday, I would like to share a song, 'Coming for you' with my brother and everyone else present." When I sang the second verse: "Facing violence and danger, again and again I came for you. I came for loving you, precious Chinese people. Did you know that the whole world is saying: Falun Dafa's great! Oh Falun Dafa Hao! Do not miss this precious chance, that does not come in 10,000 years!" everyone in the room was still as a mouse.
At that time, I felt my body to be majestic and tall. It was as if Teacher was looking at me from above. The atmosphere changed. The room was filled with passionate clapping. "Falun Dafa is good!" "Falun Dafa is good!" Everyone in the room was very excited. When I asked the two doctors about suspicious points of the staged "Tiananmen Self-immolation Incident", they agreed that something was indeed not right. The next day, I hand-delivered truth-clarification materials to their homes.
Clarifying the Truth to the Bicycle Repairman
One day, on my way to another practitioner's home, my bicycle broke down. I clarified the truth to the owner while waiting at a bicycle-repair store. I asked him: "Do you know who was behind the staged 'Tiananmen Self-immolation Incident'? Do you know who was involved in the murder cases?" While I clarified the truth, he also was able to point out many suspicious factors and said that he had his doubts regarding these factors all along. I told him that Dafa has been spread worldwide. I also asked him not to listen to the lies disseminated over state-run TV. He told me: I do not believe these lies, as I know Falun Dafa is good!

A Gallstone Disappears
One Falun Dafa practitioner's relative is 78 years old and had severe gallstone problems. The practitioner often gave her truth-clarification materials to read and told her to recite, "Falun Dafa is good!" "Zhen-Shan-Ren is good!"
The old woman kept reciting the two sentences, even after her family had sent her to the hospital for gallstone removal surgery. Just before the surgery was to begin, the exam showed that her gallstone was gone! Now she tells everyone she meets that it was Falun Dafa that saved her.
Heavenly Books Remain in Perfect Condition after Big Fire
One day, a Falun Dafa practitioner's home caught fire, spread from a neighboring building. Since the security personnel were blocking everyone from entering the house she could not rescue the Falun Dafa books in her house. She thought, "Fire in this dimension cannot touch objects in other dimensions, and it cannot touch the Dafa books!" She recited the Fa-rectification formula silently. Everything was burned to ashes in one hour, including the box that she used to hold Falun Dafa books. But after the security personnel left, she was surprised to find the stack of Falun Dafa books in perfect condition in the middle of the ashes, as if nothing had happened.
This big fire brought disaster to all the neighbors. But this Falun Dafa practitioner suffered less.

Recently, Dafa practitioners in Yunmeng County acted as one body and distributed large amounts of truth-clarifying flyers and successfully hung many banners in urban and rural areas. On the night of February 17, 2004, policemen from all over the county searched for practitioners everywhere. On the same night, nearly a hundred Dafa practitioners' homes were ransacked. Several Dafa truth-clarifying materials- production sites were destroyed.
According to known information, Dafa practitioners Ding Xingqiao and Li Hanming were put into a detention center after the police ransacked their homes. It is said that the "610 Office" is scheming to secretly sentence both of them to forced labor [the "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems].
6. [Dazu County, Sichuan Province] School Teacher He Dacui is Sentenced to Five Years for Teaching Students "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance"
One day in February 2004, Chen Daijun reported Ms. He Dacui, a kind-hearted and responsible teacher from Huangjia Township, Dazu County, to the police, simply because she taught her students to conduct themselves according to "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." Hu Xiaowei and Wen Xiuping, township magistrates, took her to the township government office. Li Yuexue from the "610 Office" and Li Xianhua from the National Security Bureau took her away from the township. They sentenced her to five years of forced labor with the accusation of "violating law enforcement."
More than 70 teachers throughout the county who have both ability and moral integrity are being "implicated." Despite the strong protests from students' parents, personnel from the county "610 Office" and the county Education Bureau forcibly took them away from their teaching positions. This incident occurred over one year ago.
7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Unconscionable Persecution Deeds of Policemen in the Women's Team of the Heilongjiang Province Drug Rehabilitation Center
In the latter half of 2003, practitioner Ms. Sun Yulan, detained in the No.1 Women's Team of the Heilongjiang Province Drug Rehabilitation Center, staged a hunger strike to protest the illegal persecution. She was later locked up in a room and tied to a metal chair for seven or eight days.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Shumei has serious congenital heart disease, and for a period of time, her eyes were extremely sensitive to light. Because Ms. Li Shumei resisted the persecution, policeman Zhao Wei in charge of the No. 1 Team, locked her in the basement and forced her to repair clothes.
8. [Tanghe County, Henan Province] Lawless Officials from the Xinmi Prison Abduct Dafa Practitioner Li Jianzhou
Mr. Li Jianzhou is a Dafa practitioner from Banzhan Village, Tongzaipu Township, Tanghe County. Since practicing Falun Gong, all his illnesses had been cured. In order to validate Dafa and clarify the truth, he distributed truth-clarifying materials and was later arrested by the police. He was then sentenced to prison and was sent to the Xinmi Forced Labor Camp in Henan Province where he was cruelly tortured and became extremely weak. His illnesses recurred. He was diagnosed with an infected lung cavity and was in a coma for many days. In order to shirk their responsibilities, the labor camp called up Li Jianzhou's family and told them to pick him up.
After Li Jianzhou got back home, through studying the Fa and doing the exercises he quickly recovered. However, on February 10, 2004, police from the Xinmi Labor Camp collaborated with personnel from the "610 Office" and deceived Li Jianzhou and his son into getting into a car come to the Tanghe County Hospital for a checkup. They deceived Mr. Li's son with the excuse of taking care of his father, but instead they dropped Mr. Li off at the town government, and from there they drove him directly to the Xinmi Forced Labor Camp for further detention.

On February 16, 2004, practitioner Xiao Zhibing from the Yueyang Gasoline Manufacture used his cell phone to send some short massages of Falun Dafa facts to the policemen at Zhuzhou City's Baimalong Labor Camp. The police reported him, causing his arrest. At the same time, 56-year-old practitioner Ms. Wang Qingming was also arrested. They are currently being detained at Yueyang City's Yunxi Detention Center.
The police also threatened Ms. Wang and her family members to not release any information about this situation, as otherwise the police would cause Ms. Wang's son to be fired from his job.

13. [Mulan Town, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Weichun Is Subjected to Forced Labor and Brainwashing
In late August of 2002, prior to the 16th Party Congress, the detention term of practitioner Mr. Li Weichun from Mulan County had expired and he should have been released immediately. However, Liu Jun, head of Mulan County's "610 Office," colluded with Liu Haichen, secretary of the Mulan County Political and Judiciary Committee, as well as with Mr. Li's work unit officials. They transferred Mr. Li to the county detention center for further imprisonment without following any legal procedures. When Mr. Li's family went to see Liu Jun and asked why the "610 Office" extended his detention, Liu Jun said, "It was the command from upper-level government personnel. Since Li was not reformed [had not given up his belief in Dafa], he had to go to the brainwashing class."
Then the family asked to see the pertinent document, but Liu Jun angrily said, "You are not authorized to see the document."
Due to the torture in the labor camp, Mr. Li's body was covered with scabies. The family requested the detention center to release Mr. Li for medical treatment. But Liu Jun said, "He cannot be released before he is transformed." Afterward, the family went to find Liu Haichen and requested him to release Mr. Li, but Liu Haichen said, "If we released him, we would lose our positions." The family said, "Mr. Li is covered with scabies. From a humanitarian standpoint you should release him!" Liu Haichen said, "You can go to find Jiang, you can appeal to the provincial government. But he can't be released before he gives up his Falun Gong practice."
14. [Tianjin] The Ninghe County Court's Illegal Trial of Four Dafa Practitioners; Eight Others Are Arrested
On February 10, 2004, the Ninghe County Court of Tianjin City illegally tried four Dafa practitioners: Ms. Li Maofen, Ms. Wang Shumin, Ms. Chen Yuling and Wang Shouke. Li Maofen was sentenced to 3-1/2 years in prison and the other three were sentenced to three years. That same night, policemen secretly arrested eight Dafa practitioners, including Xing Shirong, Kong Lingping, Ms. Sun Peiru, Ms. Liu Deai and Ms. Zhang Enlan, and also ransacked their homes. These practitioners are now being detained at the Lutai Town Government Yard in Ninghe County.

On February 19, 2004, Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Shitao, about 40 years old, and Mr. Wang Yanhuai, over 50 years old, were arrested by personnel from the "610 Office," and from the Political and Security Section and the Fangcheng County Political and Judiciary Committee in Nanyang City, Henan Province. Dafa practitioner Ma Fei is an excellent teacher from Nanzhao County, Nanyang City. Because he exposed the evil and clarified the truth of Falun Gong, the Nanzhao County Police Department put him on the "wanted" list. His work unit cooperated with the police and tried to entrap him with a variety of excuses. Now Ma Fei has been dismissed from his position and forced to leave home in order to avoid illegal arrest.

The Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp hung a signboard at its entrance reading "Yuxin School," but it's actually a den of evil where Dafa practitioners are tortured. The Jiang group invested over ten million yuan to build a four-story building which is used especially for detaining Dafa practitioners [ten million yuan equals approximately $1,208,00 USD]. They also transferred Dafa practitioners detained at the Fuyu Forced Labor Camp over to the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp. There is a complete array of instruments of torture and monitoring equipment in this forced labor camp. And it also owns a pesticide factory, which has severely polluted the area. The guards in the forced labor camp force Dafa practitioners to do hard manual labor. After the work, practitioners are nearly completely covered with a green-colored pesticide residue. Those practitioners who do not obey orders have been tortured for 7 to 22 days around the clock.

On the night of February 23, 2004, personnel from the "610 Office" abducted Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Qiong from Guangzhou City. They also ransacked her home. Practitioners Ms. Xie Yan, Ms. Si Bing, Ms. Tang Yiwen and three others were also arrested. Li Qiong, Xie Yan, Si Bing and Tang Yiwen have been detained at the notorious Chatou Female Forced Labor Camp for over two years and have suffered all kinds of inhumane tortures. Tang Yiwen was tortured so severely that her legs are now disabled. Tang Yiwen is detained at the so-called Legal System Education School, which is actually a brainwashing class.

1. [Shandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Zhang Peng and His Mother Falsely Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Peng was a teacher at a school for handicapped children. He was unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor in 2000 for going to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa. He became mentally traumatized because of the abuse and torture he received in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. In February 2001, he was detained at the Zaozhuang Mental Hospital.
At the beginning of 2003, Zhang recovered from his mental trauma and soon rejoined the ranks of practitioners validating Falun Dafa. On February 12, 2004, he was reported while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials and placed under arrest. His mother, who is also a Falun Dafa practitioner, was arrested with him. Both practitioners are being held in the Yuelou Detention Center.

5. [Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Ten Falun Dafa Practitioners in Chaozhou City Wrongfully Arrested
In May 2003, ten Falun Dafa practitioners, including Ms. Chen Ruzhen, Ms. Yang Lixiang, Ms. Li Donglian, Ms. Xu Ruifen, Yu Junqing, Wu Xiaohong, and Lin Ruixiang, were arrested by the Chaozhou City Police Department for raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were held in the Chaozhou City No. 1 Detention Center and were taken to court twice. The case has still not been closed, and the practitioners remain in police custody.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Liu Xiuchun Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Chunxiu was forced to stay away from her home for an extended period to avoid wrongful arrest. On the afternoon of January 29, 2003, members of the "610 Office" and special agents arrested her and took her to an undisclosed location. Prior to this, she had been taken into custody many times and each time she managed to walk away with righteous thoughts.
7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Zhang Fengqing Suffers from Harmful Drug Injected into Her Body
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Fengqing, 55, was an employee at the Shuangqiaozi Post Office in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. On October 20, 2003, she was arrested by the police while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in Lianhua Village. Despite police torture and coercion, Ms. Zhang resisted the evil and continued to raise awareness about the persecution. She was later sent to the Pi County Detention Center. After about two months of hunger strike, she was taken to the hospital by the police, who ordered two male inmates to grab her arms and inject her with a harmful drug. The drug was known to damage the central nervous system. When she was released in mid-January 2004, her family found that she wasn't clearheaded and couldn't remember a lot of things. She also admitted that she constantly felt dizzy. She could not take care of her own daily needs and could not walk normally. She was still limping a month after her release.
8. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Over a Dozen Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
February 12 is designated as Shuangcheng City's Falun Dafa Day. On this day and the day before, the Shuangcheng City Party Committee and "610 Office" collaborated with Harbin police and arrested over a dozen Falun Dafa practitioners, including Lu Guizhen and Yu Xianna. The practitioners were taken to the Shuangcheng City No. 2 Detention Center. Some practitioners were arrested at their homes, and others were taken into custody while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials outside. Ms. Yu Xianna's home was ransacked. Her television, and her Falun Dafa books and materials were confiscated. Further details are under investigation.

9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Junxian from Boye County Becomes Handicapped as a Result of Police Brutality
Ms. Wang Junxian is from Boye County, Hebei Province. She was unlawfully sent to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp to serve a two-year term in 2002. As soon as she arrived, the police guards brutally beat, handcuffed and electrically shocked her. They also ordered her to face a wall, crouch down with her arms around her legs, and hold that position for days and nights on end without sleep. She came through all this with continuing determination in Falun Dafa and righteous thoughts. To try to break her will, the police then put her under strict supervision and made her do slave labor for 14 hours a day. In August 2002, she was taken to the fourth floor for more intense persecution. Police officers and criminal inmates grabbed her and smashed her head into a wall. She was also handcuffed for extended periods while being deprived of sleep. She was again forced to face a wall, crouch down with her arms around her legs, and stay that way for days and nights on end without sleep. The police also tortured her by electrically shocking her, cursing at her, and using a needle to pierce the soles of her feet. Overall, she lost the use of her left leg, became incapacitated and unable to perform the forced labor, and suffered from a tremendous amount of mental abuse.
10. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Wrongful Arrest of Blind Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhang Jianjun
Mr. Zhang Jianjun, 32, is a Falun Gong practitioner. On December 17, 2003, several police officers suddenly broke into his home. After asking if Zhang was still practicing Falun Gong and getting an affirmative answer, the officers did not present any legal papers and tried to take Zhang into their police vehicle. Zhang was home by himself and he resisted the abduction by struggling and shouting for help. Neighbors heard him and came to persuade the officers to wait until Zhang's family members came back before taking him away. The officers ignored the request and sent Zhang to the brainwashing class held by the "610 Office," where he stayed for nine days. Mr. Zhang refused to listen to the slanderous defamation in the brainwashing class and resolutely declined to write statements renouncing Falun Gong. In the last few days in the brainwashing class, Zhang also went on a hunger strike. On December 26, he was sent home in a police vehicle.
This is another case of violation of the law by the Huainan City "610 Office" and police. The organizations responsible for this act are the Datong District "610 Office" and the Luohe Police Station.
11. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Persecution Experienced by Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Guifang
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Guifang was wrongfully detained twice for a total of over seven months simply for believing in Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance and trying to be a good person. She was also twice sent to a forced labor camp. Her home was ransacked many times. At the beginning of 2000, she exercised her constitutional rights and went to Beijing to voice her concerns about the persecution of Falun Gong. The company she worked for extorted 2,000 yuan cash from her, suspended her from work, and eventually dismissed her from the company and terminated all her compensation. Ms. Li has no source of income after almost 30 years of hard work.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li Xia Wrongfully Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xia lives in Hepan Apartments in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. On February 12, 2004, she was unlawfully arrested at her home by officers from the Shenhe Branch Police Department and Wulihe Police Station.
(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Facts of persecution
Dafa practitioner Sun Jianzhong, a 38-year-old resident of Fengrun Town, Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province was abducted twice. Officials sent him to the Xiaobali Brainwashing Center in Fengrun because he refused to give up his practice of Falun Dafa. He was also detained numerous times and cruelly tortured. The perpetrators branded him with a red-hot metal hook; they shocked him with electric batons after pouring cold water on him; they force-fed him with food and urine and injected him with nerve-damaging drugs until he was near death. Up until now, Mr. Sun Jianzhong is still being held at the No. 1 Detention Center in Tangshan City, where he was already held for one year past his term.
Dafa practitioner Yang Guohong from Kangping County, Shenyang City had gone to Beijing to appeal for Dafa on September 10, 1999. He was arrested and held at the county police department for more than 20 days. The police stole 1,290 yuan cash and later extorted an additional 1,000 yuan from him, calling it a "deposit". Later on, they abducted Yang Guohong and sent him to Shengli Police Station on December 27, 1999 and two days later they extorted yet another 500 Yuan from his family before releasing him. On January 5, 2001, the police broke into Yang Guohong's home for the second time and seized Yang Guohong and his wife, who also practiced Falun Dafa, and took them to the police department. Mr. Yang Guohong was detained for 20 days and his wife was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor. On August 15, 2003 while clarifying the truth, someone reported him. Police officers from the Haoguan Township Police Station arrested him, ransacked his home and tortured him to coerce a confession. He was later sentenced to three years in prison and is currently being detained at Xihu Prison in Benxi City.
Before the Chinese New Year 2004, perpetrators from the Xiangfang District Bearing Factory in Harbin City arrested three Dafa practitioner factory employees: Mr. Zhao Ming, Mr. Wang Yongbin, and Ms. Yu Qin. They sent the practitioners to the Wuchang Brainwashing Center where these innocent people remain up until now.
My name is Wang Dongxu and I am an employee of Hegang City's Ore Mining Bureau No. 13 Chemical Corporation Ltd. Officers from the Hedong Police Department in Hegang City broke into my home and ransacked it on April 21, 2002 and took me to the police department. In the evening they held me under criminal detention and sent me to the No. 2 Detention Center in Hegang City. I held a hunger strike and was force-fed on the fourth day. Li Shulin, head of the detention center, put a nine-centimeter metal torture device on my legs and forced me to sit on the ice-cold brick floor in a position with my legs split wide for three days and three nights. I was sent to the city labor camp on April 30, 2002. Because I had hung up Dafa banners and distributed Dafa truth clarification VCDs, I was sentenced to four years in prison on July 15, 2002. Right now I'm being held at the Jiamusi City Prison. I was only exercising my rights given by the Chinese constitution. All charges levied against me are illegal. I therefore demand my unconditional release.
The following happened in October 2003 in a carrot field on the west side of a storehouse belonging to the Fourth Agriculture Group of the Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai City. The instructor for Group Four ordered Dafa practitioners to collect carrots without pulling off their leaves. Dafa practitioner Jin Fengxue who is in his 60s was partially deaf and didn't hear the orders. As the result, instructor Li cruelly beat him until he could no longer move. Jin Fengxue held a hunger strike to protest the abuse.
My name is Li Airong and I'm 46 years old. I worked in the Hongwei Workroom for the Guye District Railroad in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. My husband Zhao Shunguang worked at the Guye Railroad Station. Both of us practice Dafa. Police from the Luan County Police Department and from the Guye Train Station Police Station often harassed and persecuted us. They arrested my husband in October 2001 for posting Dafa truth clarification flyers and savagely beat him until his whole body turned black and blue and his face was swollen and disfigured. His inner and outer thighs were also black and blue, and he had become crippled.
The authorities at the Female Division of the Tumuji Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia Dafa practitioners verbally abuse, beat and humiliate the practitioners. They force the practitioners to stand for a long time, squat with their hands on their heads and forbid the practitioners to sleep. They also whip the practitioners, shock them with electric batons and force-feed them. These evildoers hang them up with ropes and force them to do slave labor. Practitioner Fu Guiying was tortured until she had a heart attack, while practitioner Meng Xiangling was beaten until her face became swollen and her teeth became loose. Ms. Meng also had headaches and dizzy spells and vomited large amounts of blood. Practitioner Hu Shumin often had headaches after being beaten, and for a while she was not in a clear state of mind and was only skin and bones. Practitioner Zhao Jiqin had blisters all over half of her face from electric batons; her body is black and blue and she is crippled from torture. Practitioner Ma Xiuqin was hung up with ten ropes and shocked with electric batons. She passed out four times from the torture. Practitioner Liu Chunyan had a broken shin from the beatings, and practitioner Li Xiaoqiu had a nervous breakdown from the torture.
Dafa practitioner Liu Zhenchang from Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province was abducted on April 16, 2002 and his home was ransacked. He was sent to a detention center and tortured and was transferred to No. 1 Detention Center of Hegang City in June 2002. Persons from the Gongnong District Court in Hegang City unlawfully sentenced him to ten years in prison. He was sent to the Xianglan Drill Group on September 1, 2003 and to Jiamusi Prison on September 8, 2003.
My name is Li Qingyun and I live in Qiyang County, Hunan Province. Dafa practice benefited me physically and mentally, but I was persecuted for being a good person. I was sent to a detention center on January 18, 2001 and held until June 11 when my husband had collected 2,400 Yuan and gave it to the perpetrators in order to obtain my release. I went to Beijing to appeal on November 5, 2001 and was again sent to a detention center, during which time I was forced to work and was force-fed and tortured. Half a year later, my sister bailed me out with a payment of over 5,000 Yuan.
Dafa practitioner Feng Shujie from Xigang, Hulin City of Heilongjiang Province suffered from numerous illnesses before she practiced Dafa, including heart disease, inflammation in the shoulder, edema, gynecological diseases and other ailments she had suffered since she gave birth. After she began practicing Dafa, all illnesses disappeared. Ms. Feng was detained while distributing Dafa truth clarification flyers on April 26, 2002. The police slapped her face and rammed her head against the wall. About 24 days into the detention, she had a relapse of heart disease and her condition worsened day by day. They released her on the 29th day. Feng Shujie was detained again on October 12th and was sentenced to three years of forced labor.
My name is Sun Qingyun. I am a 59-year-old woman. Because Jiang unreasonably persecuted Falun Gong, I went to Beijing twice in 2000 to appeal for Dafa and was subsequently sent to the No. 1 Female Labor Camp in Jinan City for three years of forced labor. The guards at the labor camp shocked the practitioners with electric batons and hung them up with their hands cuffed. Some practitioners were hung up for more than 40 days and their feet were swollen. They couldn't walk after they were let down. Once I was a little loud when doing the Dafa exercises. For that, the guards hung me up for one day and one night until my feet were swollen. An elderly practitioner was hung up for seven days for reciting Dafa scriptures. A guard shocked a practitioner's neck until blisters developed and pus seeped out.
Perpetrators and their crimes
Eye-witness account of Dafa practitioner Zhu Bencun, from Raocun Town, Yueyang County, Hunan Province: Because I went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, perpetrators from the Judicial Department in Raocun Town took away my harvested crops and quilted bedcovers. They also confiscated a pig from practitioner Liu Fengchou, a casket from practitioner Ju Xiulan, and a sewing machine from practitioner Zhu Shiyu. When the police officers came, they learned nothing was left to take. They grew furious and smashed the windows in my house. Several times I was abducted, extorted money and sent to labor camp. Huang Guoliang, head of the county police department, led a group of officers and broke into the home of practitioner Chen Ganlin in 2002. They took all the Dafa books they found and extorted 1,700 Yuan from him.
