Dafa Saved My Life, and I Could Never Forget or Fail to Show My Gratitude

(Clearwisdom.net) Before obtaining the Fa and starting to practice Falun Dafa, I had rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, and heart disease. My bones were deformed, and I had not been able to work to support myself for many years. Every day I had to rely on many medicines to maintain my miserable life. In August 1996, when both Western and Chinese medicines lost their potency for me, I was fortunate enough to obtain the Fa. In the beginning I was full of doubts. However, when I arrived at the exercise site, the exercise music deeply moved me. I felt very harmonious and peaceful, and tears ran down my cheeks. That evening, other practitioners were doing the sitting meditation. I thought to myself that I would just learn the exercises the next day. However, I immediately felt that Teacher pulled my hands into the Heshi position. I experienced the miracle of Dafa. I learned all the exercises in the next few days.

It was more miraculous when I studied the Fa. My eyes were so bad that I had not been able to read for 40 years. The local assistant said that one must read the book and study the Fa, so I borrowed a copy of Zhuan Falun. Even though my room had only a 10-watt light bulb, that night when I held up the book and started to read, my eyes became clearer and clearer. I read until daybreak. As long as it was Teacher's book, I would cherish it so much that I could not put it down. Many times I read throughout the night. Before the persecution started, I could recite many of Teacher's articles. I transcribed many of Teacher's articles three times. I persistently studied the Fa every day, and my health improved greatly. After obtaining the Fa, I couldn't feel happier. I was no longer burdened with the fleeting happiness, anger, sorrow, and amusements of everyday people. I conducted myself strictly according to Dafa and strived to be a genuine, good person.

After July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Dafa began, evil blotted out the sky and covered up the earth, and they deceived the sentient beings with all kinds of propaganda and lies. No matter how damaging the evil was, Dafa was deeply rooted in my heart. Because the Fa-study established a firm foundation for me, no evil could shake my belief in Teacher and Dafa. I passed one test after another. I had never ceased studying the Fa or doing the exercises. When I was released from detention by police and city detention centers, I firmly remembered Teacher's words:

Therefore, whenever I was released, we would immediately resume group Fa-study and exercise. I have progressed steadfastly to this day.

One time, someone reported us as we went to Beijing. The police arrested us and brought us back from the Wuhan Train Station. Several dozen officials were present that night. I spoke loudly to clarify the truth about Dafa to them. I said Dafa could make your body healthy and upgrade your moral character. It is a heavenly law that you could not find in billions of years. Seeing that the county party secretary was present, the persecutors wanted to show off. In front of the officials, the persecutors grabbed my hair and jerked me up, and they punched, kicked, and cursed at me. I was very calm and continued to talk about the wrongful cases from many dynasties in Chinese history and the tragedies in which ordinary people suffered. Finally, I told them that for upholding the truth, even if I were jailed I would persist in studying the Fa and doing the exercises! I learned later that they said among themselves that I deserved to be a genuine student of Teacher Li.

One time in a brainwashing session, we went on a hunger strike to protest. We locked the door from the inside and recited the Fa together for two hours. They spent a tremendous amount of effort to open the door. Later, whenever they met someone they would say: "Those old ladies were amazing, they recited smoothly and uniformly." A middle school teacher admonished the students: "You study all the time and yet are no better than those old ladies who cultivate Falun Gong."
