Daqing City Police Wait at the Hospital to Seize Dafa Practitioner; Husband Dies in Worry and Fear

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Cai Xiaoyan and I am a Dafa practitioner in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Because I am firm in my belief in Falun Dafa and have told the facts of the persecution publicly, I have been seized by police on numerous occasions and was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. When my husband was critically ill and I was taking care of him, the police monitored me in the hospital and harassed us when we went home. Because of the mental stress and the fear, my husband's health deteriorated and he died.

I am 41 years old and I have retired from the Operation Division of the Third Oil Recovery Plant through employment duration buy-off (Note: Employment duration buy-off in China means that the employer pays an employee a certain amount of money according to employment duration to terminate the employment relation).

I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997, and I have benefited from the practice both physically and mentally. I am not only physically healthy, but I have also become a better and better person.

On July 20, 1999, in order to explain to the local government the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa and how practicing it benefits people both physically and mentally, I went to the Harbin Provincial Government to appeal, as the law allows. However, I was beaten by the police and then taken away to Harbin Stadium where I was detained for several hours under the hot summer sun. Simply because I exercised my constitutional right to appeal for fairness for Falun Dafa, my employer withheld my year-end bonus of 2,000 Yuan [Yuan is the Chinese currency. The average monthly salary of an urban worker in China is 500 Yuan. ].

In March of 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Dafa. I was interrogated by the police at Tiananmen Square and was taken by force and to the Daqing City Liaison Office in Beijing. Later I was taken to the Daqing City Detention Center. I was detained for 20 days and my employer extorted an additional 3,000 Yuan from me.

In January of 2001, I went to Beijing again to explain the facts of the persecution of Falun Dafa to the authorities. I was seized on Tiananmen Square and was locked in a metal cage in the basement of the Zhanqian Street Police Station. I was later transferred to the Dongzhimen Street Police Station. There, a man named Guo, the station chief, beat me. He smashed my head violently against a wall. Later, I was taken back to Daqing and was detained in the Yongjun Street Police Station of the Third Oil Recovery Plant. I got out of the police station with the power of my righteous thoughts and since that time, I had to stay in various places away from home to avoid further persecution.

My husband had worried about me day and night. I was persecuted frequently simply for wanting to practice Falun Dafa, live the principle of "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Tolerance" and be a good person. The persecution against me also burdened his mind. When his health deteriorated and he was hospitalized, I went back to take care of him. Even under this dire family situation, the police still waited three days for me in the hospital in order to take me away. These terrible deeds of the police and the hopeless feeling that we had no way to appeal even though we did nothing wrong made my husband's health deteriorate further. By that time, my husband could no longer take care of himself. After we returned home, the residential committee and the street police station personnel frequently came to harass us. Because of the mental stress both night and day, and because of the excessive mental pressure of living in fear, my husband could bear it no more; his health continued to deteriorate until he died.
