A Story from China: A Small Table

(Clearwisdom.net) One of my old friends is 84 years old. He was an engineer living in Jinzhou City, Liaoning province. Recently I found a small table outside his door. I asked him about it. He said, "This is for the brochures and pamphlets handed out by the Falun Gong practitioners. I found the materials squeezed in the door by the Falun Gong practitioners sometimes fell to the ground and got trampled. I felt bad and therefore, I put a small table out so it makes things easier for the practitioners and the materials do not get dirty." I asked, "You have collected so many materials to show other people. Are you afraid?" He said seriously, "What is there to be afraid of? I am in my 80's. The Falun Gong practitioners are not even afraid of being arrested, sentenced to forced labor camps, imprisonment, even death. Why should we be afraid for just reading the materials?"

"What do you think of the materials?" I asked.

He said, "The Falun Gong practitioners believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which is exactly what China needs. Because what the Falun Gong practitioners do is so righteous, Jiang was terrified. So he wanted to eliminate Falun Gong. He has blood in his hands. He will have to pay for it sooner or later."

Then I asked, "Have you seen the video about the Tiananmen Self-immolation Incident?"

"Yes, I have seen it. I have also seen the video analyzed by Falun Gong practitioners. A levelheaded person can see that the incident was a conspiracy. The police and journalist went in first and then fire was lit. The police have the fire extinguisher and anti-fire blanket on their hands. It is their trick to defame Falun Gong."

Then he asked me a question, "Where do the Falun Gong practitioners get their money to produce all these brochures and pamphlets?"

I said, "Everything was paid by Falun Gong practitioners. Let me give you an example, a female practitioner I know makes hardly enough to live on, but she managed to save 500 yuan [An average Chinese urban worker's wage is 500 yuan a month] for the production of truth-clarifying materials and flyers.

He was moved to tears hearing this. He said, "The Falun Gong practitioners are so remarkable." At the end, he borrowed some of my Falun Gong books to read.
