Classes Begin at Dallas' New Minghui School (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Since the first Minghui School opened in Washington, DC in 2001, many other Minghui Schools have been established around the world. Under the efforts and support of local Falun Gong practitioners, the Dallas Minghui School was established on February 21 and classes formally began.

Before setting up a Minghui School, the practitioners exchanged views on related issues based on their understandings of Falun Dafa.

With the increase of Falun Gong practitioners in the area, there are now about 15 children practitioners. When adult practitioners read Dafa books and shared experiences, the youngsters spent the time by themselves. Though the parents took turns looking after them and organizing them to also read Falun Dafa books, no formal and systemic education relating to Dafa was available. The little practitioners could not stay calm.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang said, "Without question, the children of Dafa practitioners were born to obtain the Fa. They are not only our children but also little practitioners. It is our responsibility to create a good environment for them to practice."

Ms. Liang, a teacher said, "Chinese children often go to school to learn Chinese on the weekend. However, many bad things in current society affect all circles. At the Minghui School, we teach children based on our understanding from practicing Falun Dafa." The Minghui Schools use Truth, Compassion and Tolerance as principles to guide the development of the school.

Local practitioners exchanged views with practitioners in areas where Minghui Schools had already been established before opening the Dallas school.

For the convenience of children and their parents and for the sake of managing Minghui School as a formal school, Dallas Minghui School does not arrange classes when the children's parents are in a group reading the Falun Dafa books. A practitioner who had many years of experience teaching children supported the establishment of the Minghui School and provided a place for the Minghui School to hold classes. The Dallas Minghui School opened on February 21, Saturday and many parents accompanied their children for their first day in the new school.

The students read Zhuan Falun aloud under the direction of their teacher. Asked about the curriculum, teacher Ms. Chen said, "We mainly teach little practitioners to read Zhuan Falun and other Falun Dafa books. We teach them to read and recite Master Li's Grand Poem, sing songs composed by Dafa practitioners and are planning to compose some programs for them to perform. The most basic thing is to provide them a good environment for growth and practice, to let them play their roles in Fa-rectification and step forward on their path of cultivation."
