Guangdong Province Undergraduate Student Forced to Leave School and Sentenced to Jail for Thirteen Years

(Clearwisdom.net) Chen Nianqiang is the former party secretary of Zhanjiang Ocean University in Guangdong Province. He is now the party secretary of Guangdong Industry College, a different institution from Zhanjiang Oceanic University. Since July 20, 1999, he has closely followed the Jiang regime in slandering and attacking Falun Dafa in staff meetings, and in playing a role to brainwash Falun Dafa practitioners. In particular, the party secretary of the Navigation College (formerly party secretary of the Agriculture College) at the university, Zhong Pan had forced 11 students in his college who were Falun Dafa practitioners to go through brainwashing so that he could gain political capital. He gave them an ultimatum of either giving up Falun Dafa or being expelled from school.

Chen Xiangqian from Maoming City, Guangdong, is a student and Falun Dafa practitioner. On January 14, 2001, the school sent people to Chen Xiangqian's home in Maoming, where they and the Maoming Police Department continued to persecute and brainwash Mr. Chen. Chen Xiangqian was forced to leave home, becoming destitute and homeless. On March 4 of the same year, Chen Xiangqian was arrested by the Maoming Police Department when he was making truth clarification material. He was sentenced to a 13-year jail term without due process of law, and was forced to leave school by the university.

Chen Xiangqian's classmate He Gengqing was sentenced to an 11-year jail term. Chen Xiangqian's younger sister Chen Yayan was sentenced to 5 years. She is currently detained in the 1st Detention Center of Maoming.
