Chief Sun Hongzhi and Officer Chen Yongfu of the Tanpeng Police Station Are Responsible for the Death of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Sun Xiumei, Anhui Province
(Clearwisdom.net) 24-year-old Anhui Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Sun
Xiumei, died as a result of persecution she received at the hands of the
authorities in the Tanpeng Police Station on the morning of February 2, 2000. Ms. Sun Xiumei lived in Dazhaozhuang village (Tanpeng town, Linquan county),
Anhui province. Ms. Sun began to practice Falun Gong in 1998. In November of
1999, Sun Xiumei was arrested when she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.
She was detained for 15 days after she was sent back to Linquan. The authorities
in the local town government and police station repeatedly attempted to harass
and intimidate her after she returned back home. On February 1, 2000, Sun Xiumei was taken away by authorities and subjected
to a brainwashing session run by officials from the Tanpeng town government. At
about 5 o'clock in the morning of February 2, the head of the Tanpeng police
station, Sun Hongzhi, ordered his subordinate Chen Yongfu to take Sun Xiumei
from the cell to the office and interrogate her. Later the news was released
that Sun Xiumei died abruptly. The police station sent her body to Linquan on
the same morning and did not allow her family to transport her body for burial
until several days later. The details regarding Sun Xiumei's suspicious death is pending further
investigation. A young girl was murdered by the authorities simply because she would not
give up her belief in the Falun Dafa principle of "truthfulness,
compassion, tolerance"! The authorities who are directly responsible for
this crime are the head of the police station Sun Hongzhi and police officer
Chen Yongfu. 2004-2-25
