Australia: Practitioners in Australia Promote Falun Dafa at the Ingleburn Festival (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net, March 22, 2004) This year, during the city-sponsored annual Ingleburn Festival held in the Sydney Suburb of Ingleburn, the Sydney Falun Gong practitioners' booth happened to be arranged between that of the Labor Party Council Members and other organizations. Many local residents asked where they could learn the Falun Gong exercises as soon as they approached the booth. A staff member from the City Information Center came over from her own booth to ask whether there was a regular exercise-instruction site, because many people in her workplace would like to learn the Falun Gong exercises. We immediately expressed our willingness to send Falun Gong introductory materials to her center periodically. She expressed her deep gratitude.

Many parents were very happy to see the paper lotus flowers we presented to their children. When they heard that the theme of the "Petals of peace" event carried out by Falun Gong practitioners was to allow people to learn about the ongoing brutal persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang's group in China and let Australian children understand and appreciate how lucky they are, as well as to help those persecuted children in China, the parents all asked their children to bring the information to their teachers. They also welcomed practitioners to go to their children's schools and hold the activity there. People felt indignation over this persecution against such a peaceful practice. Some people who understood about the persecution took the initiative to sign the petition when they passed by.

Teachers from the Municipal Children Service booth were very pleased to receive Falun Dafa introductory materials. They said that they would definitely contact practitioners to obtain more information. Through this activity, the city council members witnessed practitioners' selflessness and kindness and were quite moved. A young council member later took the initiative to come over and sign our petition. Through this activity, practitioners feel that all sentient beings are waiting to learn about Dafa and they will do even better.
