Tangshan Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Han Xueyu Arrested Three Times andTortured

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Han Xueyu and other five Falun Gong practitioners were illegally sentenced by the Tangshan People's Court.

Han Xueyu, born in 1960, started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. After practicing Falun Gong, he changed from a person who suffered from many illnesses into a healthy one. On July 20, 1999, Jiang and his followers launched the persecution of Falun Gong. In December 1999, Han Xueyu went to the Appeal Office of Beijing to appeal. The desk clerks not only didn't listen to him but also detained him and asked Han's local police to return him to his home. Police from the Fengren District (formerly the Xin District) took him back, extorted 2,000 Yuan from Han's family, and on the second day sent Han to Tangshan City's

No. 1 Detention Center.

In November 2000, when the detention center was holding a meeting to defame Falun Dafa and its founder, Han Xueyu shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is a righteous law!" All the government officials, police, and criminals were stunned. Liu Hao, the head of the detention center yelled, "Send him to the solitary cell and put on the 38-pound heavy shackles!" Han Xueyu suffered inhuman tortures. He was tied to a metal chair, was not allowed to sleep for one week, and was stabbed with needles. The heavy shackles were kept on him so long that the flesh on his ankles festered and the bone was exposed.

When he had been detained for a year and a half, his son went to see him but could not recognize him. He saw a skinny man with a sallow face and a gray beard and hair. He could not connect this image with his father who used to be a handsome man of great stature. His son embraced his neck and cried for his father to come home and not go back to the cell.

After being detained for one year and eight months, Han Xueyu had become very weak. His hips were festering and ran with pus. If he sat on a bed for half a day, the pus would soak the cotton-padded mattress. The police in the detention center, however, still made him work. He shelled peas for twelve hours at a time and was not allowed to sleep if he had not finished the assigned task. His family members sent 2,000 yuan to the Yanshang Road Police Station in New District and another 2,000 yuan to the Jidong Pharmaceutical Factory before he was finally released. After Han returned home, the New District "610 Office" forced him to attend brainwash classes. On the way to and during the brainwash classes, he lost consciousness twice and at the end he could not even stand up.

In December 2001, Han Xueyu once again went to Tiananmen Square and unfurled a banner that read "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance." Police from the New District Police Department took him back but extorted 4,000 yuan from his family members. His family didn't have the money, so the police asked the Jidong Pharmaceutical Factory to pay. Later, the factory deducted that amount from what the factory owed him in wages. In the No. 1 Detention Center Han suffered cruel persecution. Liu Hao, the head of the center, spoke to the 30 or 40 prisoners in his cell, "If anyone of you can transform Han Xueyu, I will go to your city's public security department and ask them to release you."

Policeman Zhao Honghai asked Han Xueyu to defame Dafa. Han refused. Zhao then stripped off his pants and beat him with a police baton in front of all the criminals in his cell. When Zhao was exhausted, he asked the criminals in the cell to continue to beat Han. They struck Han one hundred times until they were all exhausted. But Zhao still asked them to beat him. Han's hips were beaten until they were black and purple, skin became lacerated and the muscle was exposed. Then the police forced Han to sit in a metal chair, cuffed his hands behind his back and restrained his legs so that he could not move. Kept like this for several days and nights, they didn't allow Han to sleep. He was restrained in the chair for two weeks. When he was freed from the chair, his feet and legs were so swollen that he could not move nor walk. In the winter, the police stripped off the criminals' clothes and told them to kneel down in front of Han and beg him to give up practicing Falun Gong and betray Teacher. Han asked them to stand up and said to the police, "Don't treat them like this. My issue has nothing to do with them."

In June 2002, Han Xueyu was illegally sentenced to three years of re-education through labor. His company fired him. In the Lianhuakeng Labor Camp, Police officers Wang Yulin, Shi Yucun, and Gao Yongjing ordered criminals to use rope to tie Han's legs, handcuffed his hands behind his back, and stuffed three pieces of toweling in his mouth. They placed a stick between his legs and exerted all their strength to press it down. They tortured Han like this around the clock. The pain made Han sweat profusely. His legs were swollen twice their normal size. His legs were so numb that he had difficulty walking. His left arm felt numb and could not move. After torturing Han, the police told him to carry sand until 12:00 am. His liver was so damaged he passed blood in his stool. His kidneys were also damaged so that he had a dysuria. He was extremely weak. The police sent him to see doctor. The doctor said, "His liver and kidneys have local damages and he has serious anemia. This man is in critical condition." The labor camp feared to take responsibility for his death so on July 20 they told Han's family to hand over 4,000 yuan as security to take Han back. His family didn't have any money, but in the afternoon, the labor camp had to send him home.

In December 2002, Han was arrested for the third time for distributing Dafa truth-telling materials. He was cruelly tortured at the Public Security Department of the Tangshan Steel Making Factory and then sent to the Lianhuakeng Labor Camp. In July 2003, he was transferred to Tangshan's No. 1 Detention Center and has been detained there ever since.
