Switzerland: Dafa Practitioners Promote Falun Dafa in Bern - Compassion Appeals to Public Opinion (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 17, 2004, Swiss practitioners introduced Falun Dafa in Bern, the capital of Switzerland. We set up our stand downtown. The neighborhood around the train station is the end of the line for all kinds of vehicles, and it is also situated on Bern's main thoroughfare. Crowds of people passed through one after another. The first things that everyone could see were the five big eye-catching Chinese characters: "Falun Dafa is great." They attracted a lot of attention and people with predestined relationships stopped and watched the Dafa practitioners sending righteous thoughts and practicing the five sets of exercises. They stopped to watch us doing the exercises and some followed the movements intently and wanted to learn how to do the practice. Some also asked us where the exercise site was and voluntarily asked for truth-clarification materials.

A lot of people looked carefully at the Dafa display boards and chatted about their contents as they watched the practitioners. They were deeply shocked by the pictures detailing cruel torture. They felt sympathetic and said to Dafa practitioners that they would like to know more about Falun Gong and asked for information. Dafa practitioners gave them what they needed. A lot of people signed their names on a petition form immediately after seeing the display boards and voluntarily asked for information in different languages. (German, French, and Italian are the three most popular languages spoken in Switzerland.)

Two pedestrians suddenly spoke to one Dafa practitioner after carefully looking at the display boards, "Oh! I once saw you on TV. You went to Hong Kong. We are supporters of Falun Gong. What you have done is great. It is wonderful." Among the crowds there were also Chinese people. Dafa practitioners who spoke Chinese approached them to tell them the truth. One 59-year-old Chinese lady shook her head and hands when seeing Chinese truth clarification materials. One Dafa practitioner said, "You have heard too much of the propaganda made up by Jiang's regime, such as the self-immolation in Tiananmen Square, and the stories about Fu Yibin killing people. They are all staged and are not done by Falun Gong. They have been falsely incriminated to cause people to hate Falun Gong. Practicing Falun Gong can upgrade people's morality; make people healthy and free from illness. Falun Gong has no voice in China. The Chinese police try their hardest to catch those nice people who practice Falun Gong. Those practitioners who are locked up in prison are also nice people. The degenerate and corrupt officials, however, run wild but are ignored by the police. We do not blame you as you are influenced by the false propaganda. You do not understand Falun Gong and you don't know it's wrong to persecute Falun Gong. We are just telling you the truth." After hearing our fellow practitioner's righteous words, the lady said, "What you said makes sense. Please give me the materials." She also asked for a Video-CD of information and said that she would like to watch it at home.

One elderly gentleman was happy to find us and said, "I've read a lot of Falun Gong materials. I conclude that the Communist Party will fall because of the persecution of Falun Gong. Falun Gong is just a belief in which people are encouraged to be unselfish, to ask for nothing, and it is guided by 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance'. The way Falun Gong practitioners' act to stop the persecution is peaceful and without violence. Compassion can win public opinion much more effectively and compassion is the most powerful. You are bound to succeed."
