Suggestions for Exposing Incidents of Slave Labor in Chinese Prisons and Labor Camps

(Clearwisdom.net) After reading the article "Chinese Sanitary Chopsticks and Slave Labor Production in Labor Camps" on Clearwisdom.net, I have some suggestions for overseas Falun Dafa practitioners to further expose this type of persecution.

  1. Chinese Falun Dafa practitioners should continue to send information related to slave labor production to Clearwisdom.net for collection and further publication.
  2. Clearwisdom.net should organize the information by content and area into different articles so that Dafa practitioners can quickly locate specific information and send it out to others.
  3. Regarding articles exposing Chinese slave labor for the production of consumer goods sold within China, we could send them to the Chinese media, Chinese citizens and law enforcement organizations that deal with relevant Chinese laws and regulations. The media is presently reporting that the Chinese government has started to promote the separation of prison and business enterprises in six provinces.
  4. For information exposing Chinese slave labor for the production of export products, if we have confirmed evidence, we could request the relevant countries' law enforcement organizations to investigate. For example, in the U.S., the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection is the main law enforcement organization to investigate importation of slave labor products into the U.S. The legal authority is Title 19, United States Code, §1307, which provides that, "All goods, wares, articles, and merchandise mined, produced, or manufactured wholly or in part in any foreign country by convict labor ... shall not be entitled to entry at any of the ports of the United States, and the importation thereof is hereby prohibited ..." In addition, the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection is also responsible to enforce Title 18, United States Code, §1761, which outlines the criminal laws prohibiting importation of slave labor products. In the past nine years, the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection confirmed three claims regarding importation of prison slave labor products from China. We could also write articles about the issue of slave labor and send them to the media to raise public awareness.
