Residents of a Village Step Forward and Protect Falun Dafa Practitioners from Unjust Police
(Clearwisdom.net) Before the persecution of Falun Dafa began on July 20,
1999 many residents in Zhuji Town, Huaiyang County, Henan Province practiced
Falun Dafa. After July 20 the persecution of Falun Dafa was most severe and
brutal in this town. However, Dafa practitioners were determined and solid as a
rock. They were willing to risk their lives to uphold the truth. They grew more
and more mature, and their work became deeper and broader in clarifying the
truth, exposing the evil, and saving sentient beings. The lies were exposed one
after another, and the momentum of the evil was checked. Residents within miles
gradually learned the truth of the persecution. By the beginning of 2003 there were dozens of unpublicized exercise sites.
Fellow practitioners periodically got together to study the Fa, do the
exercises, and share experiences of cultivating Falun Dafa. Since the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to
persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in
the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] of Henan Province
came and stayed in Huaiyang, the evil became rampant again for a while. The
policemen from the county national security office and town police station
constantly went to the houses of practitioners to harass them, search their
homes, arrest and beat practitioners, and issue cash fines. Often, dozens of
fully armed police officers in several police cars would come to a village to
arrest Dafa practitioners. One time, over seventy police officers in more than
10 police vehicles came to a village to arrest kind and innocent Dafa
practitioners. In the beginning, the honest villagers were scared when facing the ferocious
police in uniforms, with electric batons, sitting in the police cars. They all
knew that Falun Dafa practitioners are kind people and good neighbors, but they
were fearful to step out. They had something to say but were fearful of saying
it. Later, villagers started talking to the police, asking them why they
arrested people and what laws the practitioners had violated. When the villagers
began talking, the police became scared. The villagers held the hands of
practitioners to protect them from being arrested. The policemen had to let the
practitioners go. Now, the villagers have witnessed that righteousness is power! A righteous
act can defeat all evil. Although the policemen had badges and batons, they did
not have truth, thus they were not formidable. After that, whenever police came
to the village, villagers would justly and powerfully defend the righteous.
Whenever the police cars came, villagers left their work and gathered others by
going door to door. In a moment the police cars would be surrounded with layers
of people. The police could not realize their goal of arresting practitioners. On January 20, 2004 villagers were preparing for the Chinese New Year. The
spirit of the holiday was present everywhere. Policewoman Zhao Min, from the
county national security brigade, and several policemen from the town came to a
village in Zhuji Town to arrest practitioners. The police tried to arrest
practitioners in their homes, and wanted to drag them into the police cars.
Because it was the Chinese New Year Holiday, many young people who were doing
business out of town had come back home. In an instant, people stood in circles,
surrounding the police cars. Some villagers pulled the practitioners back, some
villagers reasoned with the police. The police hesitated and their hold on the
practitioners loosened. Practitioners immediately escaped and disappeared. The
police, feeling dejected, went back to the cars and drove away. The villagers
