The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners by the Chengdu City and Chongzhou City "610 Office"
(Clearwisdom.net) In February 2003, the "610 Office" [an agency
specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each
level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary
systems] of Chengdu City and Chongzhou City in Sichuan Province arrested
Falun Gong practitioners who were caught handing out Dafa truth-clarification
materials in Chongzhou City. Personnel from the "610 Office" brutally tortured
the practitioner. They forced practitioners to sit on a long stool, tied both
their hands to the stools on each side of the body, then beat and kicked the
practitioners. Practitioners were deprived of sleep for several days and nights.
As soon as they closed their eyes, a bucket of cold water was poured over their
heads. Falun Gong practitioners completely lost their personal freedom. During that period of time, the police detained practitioners for a long
period and tortured them with all kinds of torture methods. Dafa practitioner
Ms. Huang Ying refused to comply with orders from guard Shuai Hongyu, so Shuai
put a few electric wires together, and beat Ms. Huang with the wires and with a
metal club, and kicked her. Huang Ying's face became swollen and she had many
injuries over her whole body. Later, Ms. Huang was sent to a mental hospital.
She told the doctor, "I do not have a mental problem, I am a Falun Gong
practitioner. All my injuries were caused by the police from torture." A month
later, the hospital phoned the "610 Office" to ask them to pay the medical
expenses. The "610 Office" refused to pay. The hospital demanded more than 1,000
yuan in medical costs from Ms. Huang's family members, and only then was Huang
Ying released. After she had been home for more than three months, she was again
taken to a newly established brainwashing center in a town in Chongzhou City in
December. Among the Falun Gong practitioners detained for long terms by the Chongzhou
City "610 Office," five practitioners were sentenced to prison terms. Ms. He
Mengying, 50 years old, was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months; Ms. Ji Huifen, 53
years old, to 3 years and 6 months; Ms. Wang Huijun, 59 years old, to 4 years;
Ms. Gong Zengyun, 60 years old, was sentenced to 4 years; and Ms. Gou Zhongxiu,
received an 8-year sentence.
