There were also 3 Tibetans who had been on hunger strike for 7 days.

The coalition submitted its petition letter and a concurrent resolution to UNCHR three weeks ago. On April 8, besides calling on the UNCHR in Geneva to pay attention to the two documents, the coalition also demanded the Chinese authorities to release all prisoners of conscience, political prisoners, members of the Chinese democratic movement, Falun Gong practitioners and members of underground churches.

People who participated in this rally mainly came from the Greater New York area. It was said that Falun Gong practitioners would hold a parade in New York's Chinatown on April 10. More than 1000 Falun Gong practitioners from Thailand, Australia, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Israel, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao are expected to participate in this parade.
