(Clearwisdom.net) Our area suffered rather serious persecution over the past five years. Almost all Dafa practitioners who steadfastly and uprightly protect Dafa have been sent to forced labor camps. Local township government and police station authorities arrested, searched the homes of, fined, tortured and sent Dafa practitioners for extended periods to brainwashing centers and forced labor camps. This created serious obstacles and damaged local truth clarification work.

During October 2003, after Teacher made comments regarding an article that discussed publicly exposing those people who committed crimes against Dafa in the local community, we discussed such activities among local practitioners. We realized that to expose such local degenerate people would be an opportunity to save more sentient beings. Teacher's comments also helped us determine ways to clarify the truth of the persecution of Falun Dafa to those Chinese people whose minds have been poisoned by Jiang's propaganda.

Between the New Year and the Chinese New Year, Dafa practitioners wrote many letters advising local township government officials and police officers to stop committing crimes against Falun Dafa and to awaken their conscience. During that time practitioners communicated frequently with each other. In working together, practitioners were able to put together truth clarification materials that included a listing of the crimes committed by local officers in their persecution of Dafa practitioners, letters to the public, stories about the popularity of Falun Dafa around the world and the fact of Jiang Zemin being sued in many countries. We sent these letters to thousands of families, including the township governments and police stations. These activities to explain the facts of the persecution of Falun Dafa changed us from passively enduring the persecution to uncompromisingly going forward. Many people who read the materials changed their views about Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Many said, "it seems the day when Falun Dafa will be redressed is getting closer. Your Teacher is really great to have disciples as brave and fearless with the ability to bear hardships as you."

These plain words showed the effects of the long-term efforts of local Dafa practitioners.

The following are my thoughts on exposing local persecutors to public in their communities:

1) We exposed the facts of cruel and inhumane torture methods used against Dafa practitioners to the public in the local communities that had been covered up by local authorities in their persecution of Dafa practitioners. People who learned the facts could relate to this, as these were cruelties perpetrated by the authorites, who were people they knew and not some distant figure. Therefore, the local people understood clearly the tortures and abuses that were occurring around them in the places they live and work.

2) Stopping local authorities who persecuted Dafa practitioners - After reading the truth clarification materials, some police officers who persecuted Dafa practitioners showed self restraint and ceased their persecution activities to various extents, some apologized to practitioners and some even changed their jobs. We found that fewer and fewer people tore down Dafa posters and materials which were put up by practitioners in public places to explain the facts of the persecution against Falun Dafa.

Packages containing materials that explained the facts of the persecution were sent directly to the officers in various local government offices and police stations. In some cases, materials were delivered in person, or practitioners visited their offices and talked to them in person.

3) More fellow practitioners became active in doing truth clarification and Fa-rectification work during this process. Practitioners made progress together as one body. Some practitioners who were brainwashed in the forced labor camp into renouncing their belief in Dafa changed visibly. Some quickly returned to practice Falun Dafa, took part in activities to clarify the truth, and searched for ways to make up for the losses they caused. Solemn declarations were continuously published on the Internet declaring their words and actions against Dafa were coerced and completely invalid. Some former practitioners resumed their group study of the Falun Dafa teachings, practicing Falun Dafa exercises and sending forth righteous thoughts. More and more people asked for truth clarification materials. The environment changed for the better during this period.

4) Let's look at the Fa-rectification work from the Dafa point of view. Cooperation is very important during Fa-rectification work. If we cooperate well, then those who try to cause us harm will not be able to do so. A God's actions are selfless. They guard the righteous laws of the universe while human beings are selfish and put their own wishes above those of others.

If one does Fa-rectification work with a human mindset, things will not go smoothly. If we purify ourselves and do everything with a pure mind, miracles will happen. Some practitioners clarified the truth wherever the persecution was most rampant and returned to their homes safely. Some practitioners walked about 30 kilometers in less than two hours to deliver Dafa truth clarification materials. As long as we are within and act in accordance with Dafa we can accomplish anything.

I shared experiences with fellow practitioners of other areas. In some areas, practitioners did not pay enough attention to exposing the crimes of local perpetrators who persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners. Others did nothing mostly out of fear. Some practitioners who suffered cruel torture have yet to write an account of the crimes committed against them, so the truth will come to light. They are waiting for the external environment to change. This has allowed the perpetrators of evil to do even more damage, while sentient beings that are waiting for us to save them still do not know the truth.

I suggest fellow practitioners start exposing crimes committed by the authorites to local people immediately. No waiting, no expecting others to do it for you or waiting for external changes! It's our duty to create the local Fa-rectification environment. When we do things with a pure and unselfish mind, we save more sentient beings and those who commit crimes against Falun Dafa will have nowhere to hide.
