Dafa Practitioner Ms. Zhu Meijuan from Qingdao City Died While Escaping Persecution; Husband is Being Illegally Detained


(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Meijuan from Jiaozhou, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, died on March 21, 2004 at the age of 36 while escaping persecution.

(Note: Zhu Meijuan died between March 9 and March 23. Because the perpetrators blocked all information, further investigation will reveal the actual date of her death.)

Plainclothes police followed Zhu Meijuan when she was distributing truth clarification materials. At 5:00 a.m. on March 21, officers from Jiaozhou City Police Department went to Zhu Meijuan's home and tried to open the door to her home with some tools. They worked on her door for two hours. As they were about to open the door at 7:00 a.m., in attempt to escape, Zhu Meijuan climbed down the sewer pipe on the outside of the building from the sixth floor. When she reached the third floor, the pipe broke and Zhu Meijuan died upon impact.

Zhu Meijuan was an employee of Qingdao Metal Boiler Factory. She began practicing Dafa in 1996. Ms. Zhu went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in October 2000 and kept clarifying the truth to people and saving people. She has always been very diligent on the path of cultivation. Her husband Zhou Zhaohua served in military before and held the rank of captain, and later worked as an official in Yanghe Town, Jiaozhou City. The authorities at Jiazhou Court illegally sentenced him to four years of forced labor. He is currently being held at the Weibei Farm in Shandong Province. Their 11-year-old daughter is left home alone, with no parents to care for her.

The death of Zhu Meijuan is the result of another round of persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in Jiaozhou City. Because Dafa practitioners in Jiaozhou exposed the perpetrators' crimes against Dafa, the lawless officials were infuriated and irately retaliated against the practitioners. The local government issued Document No. 11 to arrange the persecution and mobilized many spies to follow and monitor Dafa practitioners. More than ten practitioners including Wang Mingjiang and his wife were arrested. Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Meijuan died as a result of the persecution.

We call on the international community to stop the fanatic persecution against Dafa practitioners in Jiaozhou and rescue Zhou Zhaohua!
