In a Few Words: the Mentality of "Squaring Accounts After the Autumn Harvest"
By Dafa practitioner Wu Xin
(Clearwisdom.net) One mental obstacle that hinders practitioners from
being diligent both in personal cultivation and in the Fa-rectification is the
desire to "square accounts after the autumn harvest," which means
waiting until after a political movement is over to settle accounts. At first I
did not clearly recognize it. I recently discovered, however, that this warped
mentality, which formed as the result of a long period of political struggles,
often becomes an excuse for me to slack off and not be diligent. I think,
"No matter what the evil has done, it will come to an end sooner or later.
It will be 'pay back time' for what it has done. I am not afraid of your
viciousness anyway, let's just wait and see!" Although sometimes my words and thoughts are not so obvious, I often use this
as an excuse to stall, not to seek alternatives, and to view things negatively.
At the same time, I notice that other practitioners also have this mentality to
differing degrees. I hope they will consider this seriously. I suggest that we
all pay attention to this obstacle so that we can remind those practitioners who
have this attachment.
