High School Student Is Expelled and Jailed, Other Practitioners Arrested


(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Conghui, an 18-year-old student at Xuanhua First High School in Chicheng County, Hebei Province, was "urged to drop out" right before the opening of the "Two National Conferences" (1) in 2004, simply because she wrote a note to a boy, saying "Please remember Falun Dafa is good." On February 24, Ms. Zhang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was arrested and sent to jail, then taken to a brainwashing class in Zhangjiakou City. The authorities threatened to send her to a forced labor camp, causing her family a great deal of anxiety. This was the second incident in which these local authorities deprived a youngster of the right to a proper education in China. In 2001, they illegally jailed a 16-year-old female high school student for over seven months.

Around 9 p.m. on March 4, practitioner Wang Weihua of Chicheng County was distributing truth clarification materials when he was spotted by a guard hired the police. They abducted him and reportedly sent him to a forced labor camp a few days later. On March 21, practitioner Mr. Tang of Dongwankou Town, Chicheng County was abducted and sent to a jail as he was explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people at his home.

In 2001, twenty-one practitioners from Chicheng County went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. In response, the county arrested over 100 practitioners and put them in jails, forced labor camps, prisons and brainwashing centers. After the former County Director Qiu Jianguo and the County Political and Judicial Director Song Wangui were reassigned, their positions were filled by the new County Director Hou Liang and Deputy Director Guo Wanzhong (who also worked as the Political and Judicial Director). These men were more righteous and had more of a conscience, and they took a low-keyed approach to dealing with Falun Gong. But since last March, under pressure from the higher authorities, they have held meetings and summoned large numbers of police reinforcements to monitor, follow, spy on, and abduct practitioners. This has severely disturbed the lives and work of practitioners and their families, and the situation has been criticized by the community.

Currently, local practitioners are trying various means to explain to the perpetrators the facts of Falun Gong. We hope that practitioners who read this news will call or write to these people who have been deceived and pressured by the evil, so that they can learn the truth and treat practitioners well.
