On Saturday March 27th, a UM faculty member and a student--both Falun Gong practitioners--were invited to make a presentation to the Asian medical students.  The all-day fair began with CNN reporter Dr. Sanjay Gupta M.D. giving a keynote address.  After this the attendees took in information from several booths exhibiting displays about different aspects of Asian culture, healing, and medical issues.  Falun Gong practitioners set up a table with information about the practice and gave out information about the ongoing persecution in China.

Later in the afternoon the practitioners gave a one-hour workshop with projected images about the practice of Falun Gong, and a detailed look at the persecution in China, as well as an exercise demonstration.  After the presentation the medical students had many questions about the practice and were visibly concerned and outspoken about the persecution in China.  The following is a thank you note from the medical student that invited the practitioners to come to the Fair:

(Name withheld), it really was great having you and (name withheld) and the others sharing your art and insights at the fair.  Every time I see you guys present on Falun Gong, I can feel how much you are devoted to the practice and its teachings, and I can feel the sense of peace that emanates from it.  Your brilliant energy really comes through and I am always glad to have the opportunity to feel it (and to see other newcomers feeling it).  Your presence at the med school is very valuable and always appreciated, and I definitely look forward to the next time we can connect.  Please pass on my thanks to (name withheld) and the others.
