Germany: Information Day in Nimburg
By a German practitioner
(Clearwisdom.net) Last Saturday, in the pedestrian district of
Nimburg, curious people watched a demonstration of the five Falun Gong
exercises by practitioners from northern Germany. They were hoping to attract
people's attention to the most serious crime against human rights in the world.
In China, those who practise these exercises could be be sent to labour camps,
tortured by various means, and force-fed while on hunger strikes. What's even
worse is that they may be killed as a result of this persecution. Falun Gong, a
peaceful cultivation practice, has become widely popular all over the world.
Many practitioners in Germany have also benefited from it, and this is the
reason why they demonstrate the exercises to help people understand this
persecution.
At the information desk, people received materials explaining the situation
of Falun Gong and were also able sign a petition supporting the charges against
Jiang Zemin for genocide, crimes of cruel torture, and crimes against humanity. The question which people were most concerned about and which was asked by
most people is, "Why is Falun Gong persecuted in China?" The facts are painful.
The Party supported Falun Gong in the beginning. However, when the number of
people who practised Falun Gong grew and became large, Falun Gong was banned in
July 1999, due to the government leader Jiang Zemin's fear of losing power.
Two senior high-school girl students mailed postcards to the labour camps in
China a few months ago to appeal for the release of a young Chinese female
practitioner. They asked about the lady's present situation. When they were told
that the lady had been freed in January and that everyone was inquiring about
her, they were very glad. They sensed that it is wrong to think that people's
support cannot bring good results. It indicates that the first information day
held in Nimburg has created a good and positive effect. Similar activities are
to be held here from now on. Practitioners gave leaflets to all the shops and
stall owners in the market square. People were quite interested. It's very easy
to find opportunities to talk to people about Falun Dafa. |
