(Clearwisdom.net) The widespread and severe violation of Falun Gong practitioners' human rights in Mainland China became the focus of the 60th session of United Nations Commission on Human Rights. In order to cover up the persecution, Jiang's group told lies to foreign governments and tried to escape criticism with payoffs.

Groups of Criminals Pretend to be NGOs; Jiang's Group plays villain again

The international community expressed deep concern for the worsening human rights condition in China. In late March, the U.S. proposed a resolution condemning China's violation of human rights. Facing world criticism, the Chinese government, still heavily influenced by Jiang's group, did not observe the convention of the conference, brooked no delay and proposed "no-action," which has incurred many nations' disaffection.

Jiang's group also dispatched a delegation consisting of more than 500 people and some "NGOs," strictly controlled by the government, who distributed propaganda materials among foreign governments at the Commission to slander Falun Gong, in an attempt to cover up the truth. Falun Gong practitioners exposed the group's lies with their personal experiences; they also exposed the true identity of Wang Yusheng, the government official heading the "NGO."

On the morning of April 6, 2004, Kaneko Yuko, a Falun Gong practitioner who was held in a Chinese labor camp for one-and-a half years, recounted the tortures she underwent during her detention. Among the tortures was brainwashing, which the perpetrators carried out by forcing her to watch a video of a man giving a speech. This man is Wang Yusheng, who claims to be a scientist. In the videotape, Wang Yusheng highly recommended using sleep deprivation to torture Falun Gong practitioners.

Kaneko Yuko said she was stunned when she saw Wang Yusheng had become the head of an "NGO" and was giving a speech at the UN Human Rights Commission slandering Falun Gong. She hoped all the attending representatives could see for themselves through Wang Yusheng's action how the Chinese authorities cover up the truth.

According to an April 5 report by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), this so-called scientist, Wang Yusheng, is a Party official. He is one of the founders, deputy board director and head secretary of the "Chinese Anti-cult Association" (CACA). Wang Yusheng has attacked Falun Gong on numerous occasions. He had also gone to the No. 1 Women's Labor Camp in Shandong Province to take part in the persecution personally.

According to an Epoch Times April 7 report, Wang Yusheng's Chinese "Anti-cult Association" has attended meetings at the Human Rights Commission for the past four years. Wang Yusheng claimed to be the leader of a so-called "NGO" and had spoken against Falun Gong at the Human Rights Commission. His true identity has now been exposed for the first time.

The "610 Office," founded in June 1999 for the sole purpose of persecuting Falun Gong, has made and promoted many policies intended to eradicate Falun Gong and has earned an infamous reputation for it. Nevertheless, Liu Jing, chief of the "610 Office" attended the 2000 and 2001 Human Rights Commission meetings as a member of the Chinese representative group and vehemently slandered Falun Gong at the conference.

Falun Gong exposes the lies; 74 associations declare support for the condemnation resolution

Clearwisdom reported in April that since Jiang's group began suppressing Falun Gong in 1999, authorities in Zhangjiagkuo City, Hebei Province, have followed Jiang's persecution instructions to the letter. In addition to illegally imprisoning and sending a vast number of Falun Gong practitioners to forced labor camps, more than ten practitioners have died in that city as a result of the persecution. Among them were two of Chen Aizhong's family members who were tortured to death in succession - Chen Aizhong and his younger sister Chen Hongping. To bring attention to the Chen family's suffering, the organization International Education Development appealed to the chairperson and representatives of all the member countries of the UN Human Rights Commission on April 1, 2004, urging the UN to set up a task force for China issues, and to designate a special China human rights superintendent.

Attorney Karen Parker pointed out in her address, "The U.N. Working Group on Illegal Arrest has dealt with many cases regarding Falun Gong practitioners. In fact, the number of cases regarding the illegal arrest of Falun Gong practitioners has far exceeded the working group's capacity. The same is true for other special human rights superintendents. For instance, the number of cases regarding illegal killing and cruel torture is also pretty large. However, these numbers are not striking if compared with the fact that more than 900 Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death and more than one hundred thousand practitioners have been illegally arrested. The basic human rights of far more people who support and speak out for Falun Gong are not protected."

WOIPFG president John Jaw pointed out that his organization's investigation has shown that the Chinese Ministry of Education forced students and teachers of universities, middle schools and elementary schools throughout China to denounce Falun Gong. The Ministry also forced students and teachers to watch fabricated movies which slander Falun Gong, and that the Ministry forcefully implemented an anti-Falun Gong "Million Signature Campaign" coercing the students to participate in this persecution that was initiated by few people in power. Through the education system, it also inserted materials attacking and slandering Falun Gong into school textbooks and exams for different levels, including college and graduate school entrance exams. Teachers who refused to denounce Falun Gong and give up Falun Gong practice have been fired and illegally detained, students have been expelled, barred from entering a higher school and from graduating, and forced to attend all kinds of "Transformation Classes" (brainwashing facilities established by the Jiang regime during its persecution of Falun Gong). Falun Gong practitioners have been abducted to those brainwashing centers without any due legal procedures by non-law-enforcing institutes and become subject to forced-brainwashing in an environment lacking any rights and freedom as a human being. Many have been sent to forced-labor camps and mental hospitals and have even been murdered. Since 1999, at Tsinghua University alone, more than 300 professors, lecturers, graduate and undergraduate students have been illegally detained, fired, expelled or been directly sent to forced labor camps.

According to a March 2004 Clearwisdom report, over the past four years and seven months, from July 1999 to February 2004, at least 99 practitioners were murdered in Liaoning Province because of their belief in the universal principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." Their ages ranged from 27 to 65 and the majority of them were only between 31 and 39 years old. Liaoning Province, notorious for carrying out the persecution of Falun Gong, is No. 4 on the list of provinces that have the highest number of murdered practitioners. The Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, also called the "Ideology Education School of Liaoning Province," is located in a suburb of Shenyang City and is known worldwide for its cruel forced-brainwashing techniques. A senior official from the Judicial Department from Liaoning Province once said in a mass meeting at the Masanjia, "The money we've spent on dealing with Falun Gong has exceeded the cost of a war."

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Caihua, 29-year-old, is from Huludao City, Liaoning Province. She was an accountant at a zinc factory in Longgang District, Huludao City. In April 2001, she was arrested while walking in the street and sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp where she firmly resisted the evil. The labor camp guards forced her to harvest corn. The guards also hung her up for two days and one night and forced her to sit cross-legged for more than ten hours until she vomited blood. She wrote a letter to the head of the Masanjia Labor Camp and as a result was detained in November in a solitary confinement cell, wearing only thin clothes. She was trembling when she returned, which continued for the next few days, and her legs were swollen. In late 2002 and early 2003, Zhao Caihua resisted brainwashing and was sent to the "comprehensive building" to be further tormented. In late April 2003, Zhao Caihua held a hunger strike and was emaciated after a month. She could not walk. The guards sent her home. Right now, her whereabouts are unknown. The guards claimed the tortures were within "normal operation."

During World War II, the Nazi government staged tours of concentration camps in order to distract people's attention, and it also hosted the 1936 Olympics Game in order to deter the media. Decades later, Jiang's group is using the same tricks with its labor camps. On May 22, 2001, several foreign media, including the AP were allowed to visit the newly decorated Masanjia Labor Camp.

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhao Ming, Ms. Zhang Cuiying and Ms. Dai Zhizhen also shared their stories of persecution during the UN discussion on April 2.

According to an April 2004 Clearwisdom report, 74 non-governmental organizations around the world co-signed a resolution condemning the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The resolution referred to Falun Gong as a "peaceful spiritual practice." It explained the substantial damage the persecution has brought upon the Chinese people and the rest of the world. The resolution supported the resolution proposed by the U.S, condemning China's worsening human rights record, asked all member UN nations to support the US resolution, and suggested that the Commission should send experts and representatives to monitor the human rights situation in China.

Squandering money to escape criticism

Although its lies and acts have been exposed, Jiang's group still uses money to buy support from small countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa, in an attempt to block the resolution from being discussed. It's unknown exactly how much money Jiang's group has spent, but a recent example shows this "diplomatic expense" is tremendous. According to a March 30th Associated Evening News report, the Party gave the Dominican Republic, a country with only a population of 70,000 people, an "aid package" in the amount of 117.5 million U.S. Dollars, meaning everyone in the country received an average of 1,600 U.S. Dollars.

At the same time, Jiang's group applied pressure on some other countries. In late January 2004, during Hu Jintao's visit to France, Falun Gong practitioners from around the world were unlawfully detained by Paris police, soon after which Hu Jintao agreed to purchase 21 French Airbus airplanes. A land known for its spirit of freedom was thus humiliated by its unusually oppressive behavior.

In order to freeze international lawsuits against Jiang, the Party engages in behind-the-scene deals

As the main person responsible for this persecution, Jiang Zemin, has been charged with genocide and torture in countries around the world, including the U.S., Spain, Taiwan, Germany, Korea and Belgium.

According to an internal source, after a lawsuit was filed with the U.S. District Court of the Northern District for Illinois, Jiang's group "spared nothing" in coercing the U.S. and local governments to stop the lawsuit from proceeding. Jiang's group wants to delay the sword of justice hanging above the head criminal Jiang Zemin, and secondly wants to create the false impression that there is friction between Falun Gong and the U.S. government.

Despite heavy interference, Falun Gong practitioners actively pushed the lawsuits forward.

On the morning of Friday, March 12, Canadian attorneys Mr. David Matas and Lawrence Greenspon represented their client, Canadian citizen and Professor of Art, Zhang Kunlun. They formally filed a criminal lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and those who participated in the persecution of Falun Gong with the Canadian Justice Minister, Mr. Irwin Cotler. During a press conference that afternoon, Mr. Zhang and his attorneys made the attorneys' letter to the Justice Minister public. Mr. Zhang Kunlun had been illegally detained and abused in China for practicing Falun Gong.

At 3:00 pm on April 7, 2004, renowned Chinese Australian artist and Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Cuiying filed a Petition to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights via human rights attorney Mr. Christ Nyst. The petition is against Jiang Zemin who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Mr. Christopher Nyst is the lawyer acting on Ms. Zhang's behalf. This is the first case of a suit being filed by an individual with the United Nations on the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Jiang group's genocidal persecution of Falun Gong is the greatest human rights disaster of the century

Falun Gong practitioners who took a trip to Geneva merely for the purpose of appealing before the UN Human Rights Commission said Jiang group's persecution of Falun Gong is the greatest human rights violation in China, and it is also the greatest human rights disaster of the century.

China is a member nation of the United Nations and is obligated to protect its citizens' rights, including their freedom of belief, such as their freedom to practice Falun Gong. The UN Human Rights Commission is an international body responsible for upholding human rights around the world and should pay attention to the human rights condition of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Jiang's group ignored international pacts and used the human rights conference as an opportunity to speak blatant lies and to conduct financial/political deals. Jiang's group is trampling on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, disrespecting the international community and staining China's image.

When confronted with numerous lawsuits, as an ordinary Chinese citizen and an ordinary Party member, Jiang Zemin used the Chinese government to deceive foreign governments. As a result, Jiang's political maneuvers have prevented a pro-human rights vote on the human rights condition in China and has deflected attention from the Falun Gong issue for the four years straight.

Falun Gong practitioners pointed out that Jiang's persecution of Truth - Compassion -Tolerance is devastating to the human conscience and human nature. The international community should recognize these facts, and uphold justice and conscience when faced with lies and political and financial pressures.

Falun Gong practitioners send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil interference

A Falun Gong practitioner in Washington, D.C. told Minghui correspondents that many practitioners have started to send forth righteous thoughts as they clarify the truth. The practitioners realized that the evil force is weak after more than four years of carrying out its persecution. The reason the Jiang group is still able to stir up trouble is because there are evil elements in other dimensions. This is therefore an excellent opportunity for the practitioners to eliminate the evil in large quantities.
